Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Another exciting day at the Leeds Market! 😁 Glad to hear you were able to wear your tweed cap, Jack. It must have been cool out — Tool Man had on a real shirt with sleeves and everything! 🤣
Thanks pal :D Yes, he's even wearing shoes at the moment, as opposed to the steel-capped rigger's boots he has worn for years. I'd like to think I'm having a civilizing influence! ;) 🤣
Today I met up with @herder in nearby Excelsior, MN for lunch and a couple beers. It was a beautiful day out, and the place we went has outdoor seating right on Lake Minnetonka (they even have boat parking!). I should’ve taken some better pics, but we were having such a good time chatting about knives and everything else that I only got a quick pic of my Albers Lamb with my crispy chicken sandwich and Tool Man-sized portion of waffle fries. 😁

I'm jealous! :D I would have absolutely loved to have been there with you guys :) Glad you had a great time Barrett, looks like you had a great feast too :)
Looks can be deceiving.🤔 I would rather have that meal you enjoyed.
Looks like a great day Barrett, to meet up with Neil, a fellow forum member.
Your Albers presents itself well.
Sorry your meal was disappointing Bob, rotten when you go for food, and it's poor :(
Mate Coleman is an independent camping brand, made everthing from tents through to ice chests. Used to be 1 of the major outdoor brands in Australia.
Lots of competition now.
Big company internationally
Life for sure,
Yup!

Great stories Jack.
Tell special needs Scott's parents he can do it. Kudos to Scott👍👍
Thanks Mitch :) They're a funny family! :D Scott, and his still very fat brother, both share a bedroom in their parents' small home, well into their 40's, with no sign of moving out, and few other interests apart from stuffing their faces. So, Scott losing some weight, has been a seismic event in the household, and who knows where it could lead...I'll keep you posted mate! 🤣
A perfect afternoon combined a motorcycle ride on a beautiful day, playing with knives, and meeting a good friend for an outdoor lunch by a lake.
Barrett and I talked up a storm while enjoying cold beers and good food. I was limited on what I could bring knife-wise, but Barrett picked up the pace with several wonderful knives.

That sounds more pleasant Mitch, have a great summer buddy :)
Jack Black Jack Black - Have you already explained how these blokes earned their monikers?

I just had to look up "nobber" in an online UK slang dictionary. Not what I expected, and I have to admit I'm still a bit confused. 🤣
I have, at least once, but I'll go over it, briefly, again ;)

Harry is an old bloke, from a small West Yorkshire (former) mining town, called Normanton. He has the broadest of Yorkshire accents. Years ago, there was a food stand in the market, which sold spicy sausage-meat balls, and Harry would always turn up with a small foil-lined bag, filled with them. He'd say, "Duz tha want 'ot ball?" We came to associate the snack with Harry, and it's how he got his name.

I've no idea what 'Nobber' actually means, as it predates my time on the market. Al, and Tool Man, and Boring Ray, had a mate called Howard, an crusty old SAS man apparently. One day, him and Al were verbally sparring, and Al called him something unrepeatable, and Howard told him, "You're worse than that, you're a nobber!" Everyone looked at each other, quizzically, and Al, apparently replied, "What the hell's a nobber?" Nobody knew, Howard said no more, the name stuck :D
Evening Guardians!

I haven't posted in here before, am I doing this right?

Welcome to the Guardians Kurt :) Great first post, and a fine welcome Guardians :)

Good morning Guardians, I'm rushing here, as I have a busy day. I need to do some stuff here, then drop off some parcels, and get to the barbers before 11am. I'll keep this brief, for now, but I hope everyone has a good day, and I'll catch up with you again later

Yeah the temperature is better.
It is an issue close to the heart. Nephew is special needs lives with his Grandma. He will probably never work or live alone.
Turned 20 last week, 6ft & 190+kg, so well over 400lbs. The hope is 1 day maybe assisted living. Grandma is loving but way to soft. His Mum did get me to help him exercise years ago, worked for awhile but...😕
I digress & evening shot of BobStag.
Have a good day Jack.

Sorry to hear that Mitch ☹️👍 We are transitioning to calling Scott, Slimline Scott, because his only special need, so far, in life, has been an unhealthy obsession with food. He has a close family, but he probably spent too much time with them growing up, and definitely too much time eating with them. He does go on holiday with his mates, and if he can ignore his mother's pleading, lose a bit more weight, do some exercise, and adjust to a normal diet, he may be able to lead a very different life. Yorkshire is one of many places, where for some folks, a man can be stupid, violent, and downright unpleasant, but as long as he clears his plate, people, (particularly his doting mother), will have something positive to say about him 🙄 👍
Nice photo Jer 👍
Nice pic Jack !
Thank you Steve 👍

Really interesting pics Bill, it looks like a beautiful area  No Jaws Museum?! ;) :D
With an Albers lamb you could do no wrong! Nice pics.

RALF got some action last night. He now lives on my workbench.

Great to see RALF Jeff :)

After escaping Grumble Towers, I went to a nearby "DHL depot" with the parcels I had to return. It was actually a small newsagents, which, for some reason, was still closed at 9.40am 🙄 I got a coffee in Charlie's, and then went back to the shop, but the woman behind the counter was too clueless to use the scanner, telling me the barcodes wouldn't work. I went into town, and tried another DHL place, but they told me their machine wasn't working that day. I was struggling to find another depot, but spotting a DHL van, I asked the driver. He told me that the 'machine' at the last place I'd visited had been out of action for a decade, and it was some way to the only other "depot" in town. I didn't have time to go there yet, as I had an appointment with Barber Jane, who does a considerably better job than Barber Brian, though she's a fair bit pricier. I got there just as her previous punter was paying, and she smartened me up a bit :D I then set off with my parcels again, finding this 'ghost sign' on the side of the old Grand Arcade interesting...

Leeds has a LOT of students, and when they turn up for the new term, it makes a big difference to the town. Supermarkets are packed with clusters of clueless young people, who've never been away from home before, wandering around aimlessly, or sometimes led by a young mother hen, buying up all manner of things, and then trying to pay with their library card  The streets of the city centre are also filled with them, either drifting around, with no idea where they're going, looking like rabbits in a car's headlights. Or, drifting around aimlessly, with no idea where they're going, but trying so hard to look cool, that they don't much care, young lads with stiff shiny leather jackets, and girls wearing too much make-up, all looking like they're playing somebody else, on stage. The Goths are the funniest, overdressed in every bit of Goth tat they can find, like Edward Scissor Hands here :D

Or Bat Girl! 🤣

Awww 🙂😆;)

The more sensible ones will hang onto some of their money past the first week

The third DHL 'depot' was a stationers, where everything worked!:thumbsup: I was close to the Chilli Shop, so called in to see if the proprietor had managed to get hold of some Momofuku Chilli Crunch for me. He said there was none in Europe, but recommended this chilli oil, which he told me was his best seller. I'm glad he told me how little to add to a dish - a SPECK for a meal for two he reckoned - otherwise I'd have been whacking it in by the teaspoon!

IwEdDN9.jpg

I was feeling a little hungry, so bought a slice of 'Sicilian pizza' from a street food stall. Cost me a fiver, and it was very underwhelming

NOdLjNy.jpg

I did some more shopping, and then headed back to Charlie's for another coffee 😉
