Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Sorry, Vince. If it helps, I did eat part of Scout’s lunch in addition to my own. 😁
🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, Jack. Scout loves going to that place, though I have to keep a close eye on her.

Thankfully she listens pretty well, and stayed close behind me while I was wheeling the bookcase out to the truck.
I'm sure there is lots of potential for mischief there Barrett 😁 Sweet pic 😊 That's good news my friend, been a long time since any of my three listened to me! 😁👍
We’re getting to that point with bookcases, too. The three I bought previously replaced three laminated “wood” bookcases we got shortly after Julie and I got married. They were nice enough for what they were, but didn’t really match the style of the rest of our stuff anymore.

Funny thing about the bookcases from the U of M, when I bought the first three, one was missing some shelf brackets, as I mentioned. A sticker inside the top of each bookcase gave me the manufacturer (Herman Miller) as well as the model number, and it wasn’t too much trouble to find some more brackets. One of the things that came up when I searched the model number was a current price book for Herman Miller office furniture. The price listed for the exact same bookcase was $1,480. 😳 The most I paid for one bookcase was $20.
Wow! Sounds like you got a bargain! 😎 I have slowly upgraded bookcases over the years, but what I really should have done is have some built! I was going to have some fitted into the eaves of the old chimney breast in my living room, 20 years ago, and then someone talked me out of it, in favour of a different carpenter, and it never actually happened. I have several friends and acquaintances who do that kind of work, and it gets kind of complicated 🙄 Maybe one day! 😉
Oh there’s plenty of junk. 🤣

Here’s a weird thing I saw there a while back, some sort of sealed vacuum chamber with gloves built in for handling whatever’s inside.

That IS strange! 😁😎👍
It’s worth a look, at least once. 🙂 Hey, did you know there’s a knife show in Bloomington today and tomorrow? I only found out about it last week, and I think this is just their second year, so I’m not really sure what to expect, but I’m going to check it out this afternoon. @herder will be there, too.
Have a great time buddy, I wish we had knife shows every other weekend! 😁 I'm going to be absolutely gutted if I have to miss the one next weekend ☹️

Very stylish 😎👍

🤣

I’m really not sure what they had in there. Bones? I don’t know. Could’ve just been sketches or artwork of some kind, but then why call them “specimen display drawers”?

I went back to the picture with the labels on the drawers, cropped it and then dialed up the sharpeness to see if I could read them. Sadly it doesn’t work quite like in the movies (“Enhance. Enhance.”) but I was able to make out a few: “blue-winged tea,” “green-winged teal,” “wood duck,” “mallard,” “other anatidae.”
Kudos for making me learn a new word 🤓

Oh yeah, this looks like fun 😃

Can't imagine there's a large secondary market for something like that 🤔
I sort of hope there's not a group of enthusiasts out there somewhere uhoh2.gif
They probably used it to examine pancake raccoons before storing them in the aforementioned drawers 😃

Built in bookcases are definitely nice. When my brother and his family bought their house in Utah, he built some himself (at my sister-in-law’s request). Unfortunately she only got to enjoy them for a couple years; they recently relocated again to St. Louis.

I hope you don’t have to miss your knife show, Jack. 😕 The one here was a bit of a bust, at least for my interests. It was small, and mostly made up of custom fixed blade makers. On the plus side, I found a nice chef’s knife, something I’d been trying to find for a while. (I won’t share it here, as it isn’t a Lambsfoot chef’s knife.) 😉

Yeah, I doubt that kind of stuff sells very well. If I remember correctly, it was priced at like $600, too. Might be a bargain compared to what one of those cost new, but I doubt the right buyer will just walk through the door.

🤣🤣

After the knife show, Neal and I grabbed a couple beers, and my Albers Lamb made a little friend.

Our new shots haven't arrived yet!
Something to do with the energy needed to penetrate the vortex created between the hub of the earth and the nail of heaven.

I think it's a sandblaster.

They would have worked out cheaper too, particularly as I'll probably get them at some point anyway, and end up giving the others away! :D I would definitely have built them myself at one time, was a struggle to make toast this morning!:D

Thanks Barrett, I was hoping to wake up feeling fresh and sprightly this morning, instead of sweaty and groggy again. The cut off point for any type of refund on my hotel will be Monday I think. Train, probably no chance  That sounds like an old fashioned knife show, the collector's market used to be 90% fixed blades. I'm glad you got a Chef's Knife at least, and the company sounds good :)
