Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Had something of a wild goose chase in town, after receiving a text message telling me my prescription was due. My regular pharmacy is closing, and I ended up going to two other branches, and still didn't get my medication  My other errands didn't go so well either, I got home tired out 😣 Glad I stopped for lunch ;)

In the market, a whole load of stalls have been 'closed for renovation' for between 5 and 10 years! 😕 This is clearly part of the city council's plans to gentrify the place, and me and Tool Man always joke about the idea of vegan candle and macrami flip-flop stalls opening where once there were hard ware stalls and pork pie stands. Some of the new units are now ready to open

That cafe will be a winner. College kids cry poor but will be able to afford a piece of stale organic bread with ancient grains, dry of course with a cup of recycled water strained through a sock😉
Bring back the gallows...that will never do Jack. Next toolman will have to wear a three piece suit.😱

Jack, is the richness on the waboom just from pocketware?
Tweed of course👍

Good evening, Guardians. Another overnight shift tonight. Pretty slow so I'm sharoening some knives and watching some football. Hope everyone had a great day.

There are certainly worse things you could be doing at work. 😁

Bears tough?
Meet a roo wirh attitude.

The audio from the original video was pretty funny. The guy seemed very casual about potentially fighting that kangaroo. Aussies are something else! 😁

76 is definitely cool.

Most years, it's in the 90s (or above) on Halloween (and through Christmas...) - the kids trick-or-treat in cheap vinyl costumes and arrive home dehydrated, drenched in sweat, and with their treat sacks filled with empty wrappers and melted chocolate that was once candy.

You can tell if any of them had a hole in their bag because, the morning after, you'll often find little ant-encrusted puddles of chocolate on the sidewalk like a diminutive confectionary representation of the La Brea Tar Pits.

We used to live near Phoenix, and Halloween definitely had potential to be warm. (Thankfully Eleanor was young enough that we didn’t do much trick-or-treating.)

I don’t remember how hot it was this year, but the multi-layered Marty McFly costume didn’t last long, and I have another pic of her standing in front of a fan, with just the jeans on, enjoying the air blowing through her hair. 🤣

Jack Black Jack Black was concerned that I was going to let my HHB get soft and lazy since I use it as my Sunday-go-to-meeting knife, but it cut lemons yesterday and apples today. It's still getting a bit of work in.

There was a very dark patina line along the edge before, but the lemons actually seem to have cleaned that off a bit. Patination is an ongoing process, not a final result.

It definitely looks like you’ve been using your HHB, Tyson!

I've been absolutely swamped at work this year, covering five different grade levels and teaching three sections of Math. I promise to start coming around more often.

Sounds like you’ve been working hard, John!

A new vegan cafe? How exciting… 🙄

It’s a good thing I was carrying my Afzelia Burl Albers this morning and not, say, my stag HHB. My new friend might have taken it as some sort of threat. 😁

Beautiful photos Barrett. 😎👍

This one just arrived. Excellent fit and finish. Snappy walk and talk. Pinch-able and has a half stop. Flush. 3 5/8’s closed and the blade is 8670. Nice long swedge. Beautiful desert ironwood covers. And it came razor sharp. ashwinearl makes a fine knife. It feels substantial in hand probably because of the cap. A bit different than usual and that works for me.
Beautiful lamb. I like his work.
Jb lamb & white cap today cause I'm so pure😆

Are you saying the renovation work will take 5 to 10 yrs???

I went outside earlier this evening to take a Lambsfoot picture, and I couldn’t find my charcoal chimney starter that I sometimes use as a background for knife pics. I knew exactly where it had been, and I realized pretty quickly what must have happened to it. We had our roof replaced yesterday, and the crew doing the job must have tossed it in the dumpster when they were cleaning up. I suppose I can see where it might have looked like one of the old roof vents they replaced, although it’s a bit of a stretch. 🙄

It’s really not a huge deal, they’re like $25, but you can bet I’ll be deducting that from the check I have to write them. 😁 The knife pic background part irritates me more than anything. It was non-reflective, did a good job portraying accurate colors (which can be tricky sometimes taking knife pics with an iPhone) and I liked the character it had. It’ll take years get a new one looking that good.

Here’s the most recent Lambsfoot pic I took on the chimney starter, as well as a behind-the-scenes pic showing the whole thing that I took at the same time. RIP old friend. 😢😉😁

Anyways… here was the pic I was trying to take. I was fortunate enough to pick up another Albers
Lambsfoot of the exchange thanks to fellow Guardian natchezz natchezz . The newcomer is in Curly Katalox, which is a chocolatey dark brown with some subtle but attractive character. I’m really happy to have it.

Sorry for your loss of your trusty background prop but congrats on your new Albers !

Sweet trio 👍

It's good to hear from you John
Thank you, it's good to be back. :)
With my surgeons, you are up the next day. They have come along way with procedures. My friend had both done in same month..and played golf the following month.
I wish your wife well.

Hope you are at champion level now with the bags.
Far from it, but getting better day by day... it's tougher when you're 60 and just starting out.
Glad to hear from you, John. We will be here whenever you are ready, buddy.
Thank you, it's nice to be back again... and i got to miss all the forum knife hoopla... good timing. 🤣
John that sounds incredibly challenging. Wishing you the best and nice to see you.
Thank you, my friend. :)
It's good to see you here John, I was thinking of you just yesterday - hope your ears were burning! 🤣 Sounds like hard work buddy o_O
Maybe that's why I had an urge to come back... or it could have been Todd pestering me. 🤣
Hope your knife's op goes well, and that she makes a speedy recovery John
Thanks, my friend. :)
First day back and I get to see a famous Jack photo of "Lamb and Cake"... Good timing. 🤠
Sounds like you’ve been working hard, John!
It comes in waves, it should slow down soon enough. :)
That's a healthy looking boy.
Alsmost as yummy looking as your Lamb... I carried my Ebony today too. 🤠
Gorgeous Trio. 🤠
