Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Jack that stone isn't even broken in yet!

Dish soap and hot water work well with brushes or stainless steel wool.

I'd probably degrease it and then go flood some flat concrete with water and just rub a bit off the of the stone.
Thanks for the advice Rick
I agree with Rick. ...but have a diamond flattening stone.
I have all sorts of stones, both synthetic and natural, but they're different
Happy Friday Guardians !

Carrying old Stripey today 👍

What's that underneath your '18 Jer? :)
It's a parrot-handled umbrella that my grandfather brought back from England for my mother when she was little.
Funny how often a working man could afford to go to England in those bad old days.
I've thought about cutting off the handle and drilling it out for another brolly, but lately I'm thinking knife handle.

That's cool Jer  Flying was different, even when we were young, wasn't it, even in Standard?

I haven't flown since 1987, so I have been spared modern comparisons.
Grandpa was on steamships, of course.
I knew an old gentleman whose father had been a shipping magnate, but he lost his wealth because he refused to make the change to steam.

Good afternoon Guardians !

Carrying the well loved old Taylor today

I love this image Steve. Incredible bone and bolster too.
Thanks Fellas! We just pulled into the ranch and had some longhorns greet us at the gate. 👍

Can't get more Texas than that. 👍
I thought this was pretty cool  I see them now and again on the market, but they come with a hefty price tag
That is a super cool rig Jack and it goes well with the bexoid.

I agree Jack, more room, better drink service and no fist fights!
And infinitely better food

When I flew last Christmas, it was the first time in 10 or so years, and even during that time-span, things had got worse, You get more comfortable seats on an inner-city bus! 🤨

Ah, yes, very different :) An old friend of mine crossed The Pond, in 1962, on the Queen Mary. Went to work with Tamla Motown. Here he is with Marvin Gaye :)

Incredible, but I guess history is littered with characters like that

Thanks Dwight, I dare say Boring Ray will have it for another few weeks, so hopefully I can take a few more pics! :D I took it over to Nobber Al's stall to get a pic, and was immediately pestered by some crazy Somali guy brazenly smoking a Camberwell Carrot, and then Nobber Al trying to photo-bomb my pics 🤨 I managed to get rid of both of them, but didn't notice that Al had left a teaspoon behind 😒

Lovely photo Dwight :)
And pretty stewardesses.

Forgot that.🤣
I forget a lot of things! 🤣👍

Seeing as you're in Australia, the pics would be right-side-up for us folks in the Northern Hemisphere 😁

After getting flooded out of my apartment in 1993, I made sure to buy a house that was up the hill. The only way I'll get flooded again is if we have a mud/rock slide and I wind up back in the river bottom :p

We've had the opposite problem this summer. It's been dry, dry, dry. Your pics make me hesitant to wish for rain. It would be all too like Missouri to swing completely the other way 🤨
🙃🙃🤣 good 1.

Just an update that this snakewood lambfoot is still quite the loyal companion. Getting to be flannel season around here in Idaho now.

No that's not going to work.
Try it in Aussie getting cooler goanna have to put the flanno on mate..😆😆

Anyone have any tips on cleaning this old Arkansas stone (may be unimportant)? The previous owner clearly ignored the advice to clean it after each use, and it might have been in the pouch for decades. Mr Barnes recommends cleaning it with a little honing oil, but that ain't working! I clean my ceramics with scouring clean, but don't want to clog up the stone
2 suggestions, magic eraser block I use on the sharpmaker every so often you can pick them up in the cleaning isle at supermarkets. Also oven, wipes have small noudles on them for light scouring. I keep wet wipes handy to wipe down knives & the excess on stones when sharpening.
Good luck.

Good morning Guardians, it rained hard here all night here, and the wind was blowing like crazy. Made for a noisy night, and, even though they're still green, my sycamore has lost a fair few leaves. Still pretty nasty out there no
Oh my!!! That looks crazy. Prayers to all effected.
I hope everyone has had a good week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. I'm just checking the weather forecast, and it looks like we have heavy rain forecast at least until Sunday :( Got my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket :) Have a good day Guardians
I hope you have a break in the weather soon. Stay warm and dry my friend. As always.....sweet HHB, Jack.
Thanks Jeff, have to see how it goes, certainly not a nice day, I don't even fancy a walk down to Charlie's! I'm seeking solace with a couple of mini pork pies, rather tasty 😋

It has been raining a bunch here as well. Hope it's not a sign for the amount of white stuff later. Lovely lamb, Bob.

A great day off for me. I accomplished nothing other then picking up my kids from school. I did manage to go to the convenience store to buy and scarf down some of those chicken roller things. Have this lovely smooth stag lamb in the pocket.
