Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

You definitely should. It’s great! 😁
Maybe I'll get time later ;) :D
I’ve got a couple old VHS tapes lying around, but no way to play them! 🤣 The other day I was telling Eleanor about VHS rewinders. I think sometimes when I explain technology from the 80s/90s to her, she thinks I’m making it up. 😁
I've still got a handful of home-recorded ones. I'd forgotten about the rewinding (I can understand Eleanor's scepticism)! 🤣 About 17 years ago, I decided to replace my DVD player, which I think someone had given me, or I'd bought from the market, or something, and hadn't had very long. They had become inexpensive relatively recently then, and could be bought for very little. But, I had one of the most stupid ideas ever! 😖 Since I still had loads of VHS tapes, I decided to buy a high quality VHS-DVD recorder, which cost me hundreds of Pounds! I had thought I could copy my old VHS tapes, but then realised that movies on DVD were infinitely better quality. I never even got round to copying my family video tapes, in fact I never even read the instructions! 😣 When my ex's daughter was a teenager, I figured I'd bribe her to do it for me, but she wasn't biting! :D So, I have a way of playing VHS tapes, and no excuse whatsoever, other than my own laziness and stupidity! 😵‍💫😂

These adverts ran for years here, lying swines! 'Lifetime guarantee'? You only had to drop them, and they were ruined! 😤

The good thing about DVD and Blu-ray is at least they can be played by the same machine.
I didn't know that! 🤣
I didn’t think I would like the sleeves as much as I do. They’ve really made a huge difference. I’ll send you a PM.
Thanks mate, I appreciate that :)
I got lucky with the storage boxes and found something in the dollar section at Target that worked perfectly. They hold right at 100 sleeves, with a little wiggle room so you can flip through them.
That's cool, I was thinking of having a look in the Pound Shop :D
Ah, yes. The leg room can be terrible, too. The first time we saw Old Crow at that same theater, I bought tickets that were right behind a railing above one of entry ramps. I thought it would be great — they were dead center and we’d have no one in front of us — but the railing provided even less leg room than sitting behind other seats would have, and was designed in such a way that you couldn’t extend your legs at all. That was when I learned the hard way that “movie goers knee” was a thing. 🙄
Oh no! 😖
Absolutely! (And in more cases than not that’s thanks to you.) 🙂
Thank you my friend :)
Thank you kindly Jack !

Happy double Lambsfoot day ! 😎👍
Thank you Steve :)

SpaceLamb! SpaceLamb! 🚀👨‍🚀

Good morning all. Soloing in my car today. It feels good to be free.
Another lesson of appreciating what you have.View attachment 2366508
Good for you Bob :) Don't go doing too much Wabooming! :D
Thanks Jack!

Fine pair of Lambs Jack!
Thank you David :)

Jack, the Stan Shaw original would be pretty hard to beat! All three of mine are keepers, and that's saying something with the way I buy, sell and trade!

Thank you :) I don't recall seeing another Stan Shaw Lambsfoot, though I'm sure he must have made them during his long career :) Usually Stan had a waiting list of several years, so when I commissioned that one, I was surprised when he rang me a couple of weeks later, to tell me that it was finished. However, he'd made it with stainless, rather than carbon, which I'd asked for (I was his only customer who wanted carbon). He told me, "I thought you could save this one for best!" :D I wasn't going to complain, but after picking it up in Sheffield, I did say that I had been surprised by the short waiting time. He winked, and told me, "Some knives get made faster than others!" :D
Good morning Guardians !

Carrying Little Rose today 👍

Sweet Lamb Steve, and nicely photographed :)
Taking our puppy to the vet this morning, got Beni in pocket for the ride.

Hope he's OK Jeff :)
The Mallory knife is nice, but look what happened to Mallory.
But it's been higher than any other Lamb! :D

Nice double lambsfoot carry Jack. I love the Stan Shaw photo. Those hands say it all.

Thank you Dwight, don't they just? :) I sometimes wish I'd taken more photos of Stan, (and with a better camera), he didn't mind posing for photos at all, but I thought it would get in the way of our friendship, which I treasured more :) This isn't my photo - obviously! You're a wonderful photographer Dwight :)

This one is too easy - as a Johnny-come-lately to the Lambsfoot pasture, my "ANY Lambsfoot" would have to be the coveted Hartshead Barlow!

Because I doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to own an HHB, I try and comfort myself with a variety of other examples, such as:

Pin crack and all - I really like this Parker, #1266 of ???. What's peculiar to me is that after combing through Parker's extensive production history, I've not been able to find another example of them using a lambsfoot blade.
Thank you, I'm flattered :) I hope one comes your way sometime, you never know what the future brings  The Space Shuttle Lamb is a special knife, I think, in terms of Lambsfoot history, and it's actually a very nice knife, (and beautifully photographed there). I suspect Jim Parker may have been connected to these Lambsfoot knives, also made in Japan. He certainly knew the pattern well enough to know how it would work with the SpaceLamb

Glad that you have made great use of it, Jack.
It's a classic my friend :)
Double lamb day !!!! Most excellent, Jack. I say you take a mini nap. There are few things I enjoy more than a mini nap 😆 🤣 😂. 20 or 30 minutes and I am off to the races. Hope your having a great day.

As William Wallace said......."Frrrreeeeddddoooommm." Different context of course. Glad you are taking some important steps to a full recovery. Waboom is striking as always, Bob.

So nice, Steve. I am amazed at the ability of some to acquire different lambs.

Wonderful stag on Beni, my friend.

One of the nicest around, Dwight. Awesome photo.
I did Paul, halfway through my last post, which I actually started several hours ago! :D I've been pretty tired all day, and when I went into town I forget half the things I'd gone there for! 😖 I did bump into Slimline Scott and Barry The Ted though! :D

Thanks Jack. My wife said running over two old ladies is my limit today.😃
🤣
Yes sir it is. Our friend Jack Black sent me a big box the other day chocked full of super cool coins from Bulgaria and other places along with many other wonderful treasures! :):):):) If you look up "generous" and "kind" in the dictionary you will find a picture of Jack!
I'm going to have to get a good night's sleep, I was just thinking 'Did I?'! 🤣 Thank you Dwight, it was a pleasure to be able to send you something my kind-hearted friend :)

TEW in .... Micarta?

This just landed at my doorstep today. Coming across the ocean from Leeds. It looked interesting and I wanted to see a Taylor's.

Definitely an economical knife but will do it's job. There is no snap at all but opens solidly. The covers seem to be micarta or some sort of layered resin filled material. I didn't know what to expect when it arrived and it's ok. The edge had some damage but it sharpened out easily enough. Took a razor sharp edge.

It's cool enough. I like the no bolsters look here. The blade stamping is pretty nifty. It'll get put into the pile of work knives.

Anyone have a guess on how old it is? I don't know much about it but would have to imagine it's more recent than I thought. 70s-90s?

Have a good day everyone!

Was that because of the pattern or your relationship? Either way, very special!
It was because of our friendship Jeff :)
Love that pic Jack! 🤠
Thank you David :)
Evening Guardians! Boss is being Boss. 😁

Have a good day everyone!
Leeds eh? Interesting TEW Rick  I had a similar TEW Lamb with that same resin-bonded wood laminate, which was around in Sheffield at one time, but mine had a fluted front bolster. Taylor's have been producing Shadow-pattern Lambs for a long time, since the 70's I think, in an effort to economise. That cover material is quite nice isn't it? I used something similar myself at one time, but the supply dried up. TEW may just have decided to use something cheaper. I think I have a 70's TEW catalogue, so I'll have a look, if I get a chance, later. Might be a bit later than that, but I think you have the right time-frame Rick
Yea, that's the one... Such an absolute gem. 🤠
Thanks buddy :)
Looking good Mitch :)

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone is doing well :) My mate Wolfie is supposed to be coming round this morning, so I'd say there's about a 40% chance of him turning up! Dropping my OTHER Hartshead Barlow in my pocket ;) Have a good day everyone
