Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That sounds like a great night out Mitch. Cherri and I have tickets to Joe Bonamassa Nov 3. 👍

😁 That's my kind of light eating...

Thank you Jack. Glad you escaped the storm.
That will be cool😎
Ash will be back in march, might go again.

Interesting fact Sir Paul Mccartney is doing open air stadium show tonight here in Newcastle.
This mural was commissioned for tour.

Steve, Gidget looks mighty nice, but Gidge is not jealous. She loves her twin!

Lol ! Gidget loves her sister too ❤️

Hey Guardians, I have a question for everyone. If you could have ANY Lambsfoot, which would you choose? I'm going to claim George Mallory's! :D

I already have the lambsfoot I'd pick if I could only have one (thanks again to the unexpected gift from our generous genius of the lambsfoot Jack Black Jack Black )

But if I could pick any OTHER lambsfoot, it'd be tough. The rosewood HHB is one of the most beautiful pocket knives out there; an Albers lamb would be pretty amazing; but there are some fun and cool lambs that also really appeal to me - the "no pins" shadow patterns that occasionally show up, or one of the all metal Rodgers.

They're all pretty cool, right?

Good afternoon Guardians !

Another beautiful autumn day here, 61° and sunny. The weather is supposed to turn this week, heading into the thirties .

Carrying Gidget today 👍

Wow! That is an outstanding photo Steve
Yeah... that doesn't sound like a good time, Jack. Shame.
Thanks Rick, wasted several years, a lot of money, I have a bedroom that's still full of packaging, and the Guardians lost their annual knife 🤨 I was hoping to breathe a bit of life into what was left of the Sheffield cutlery industry, make money available, so they could produce better knives than the crap they often turn out, and since I subsidised the project (ie I sold the knives for less than they cost me to get made), get everyone a good Lambsfoot knife, at a fair price. The cutlers got treated well, and I always paid cash on the nail. Not the first time I've been stabbed in the back by Sheffield cutlers unfortunately :( I wouldn't buy another thing from that firm 👎
I think soaking up the excess sauce is the idea. Nashville hot “sauce” is an oil/fat based paste that’s applied to the chicken after frying, and it can be a bit messy. The resulting spicy sauce-soaked bread is a bonus treat. 😉
Sounds great to me buddy 😋

Another fantastic movie that I’ve watched many times. 😁
LOL! :D You know, I've never actually seen the whole movie Barrett, incredible as that is! :D I should put that right :)
I got really into movies in college and started buying tons of DVDs. I eventually switched to Blu-ray when the technology shifted that way, but at that point I had way too many DVDs to ever think about replacing them, so I still have hundreds of movies on DVD. Some of those older DVD menus and bonus features have not aged well. 😁

When we moved to Minnesota, we had to downsize our living space a bit and didn’t really have room for all the DVD/Blu-rays, so I invested in some thin plastic sleeves that ended up saving a ton of space.

Oh, I know just what you mean my friend  VHS tapes took a long time to become inexpensive, so I started accumulating gradually, but then accelerated when they became cheap! I ended up with over a thousand, but then DVDs came out, and they got cheap much quicker, so I got rid of the VHS tapes, and replaced them with DVDs, accumulating almost as many (avoiding the Blue Ray route! :D) I've slowed down quite a bit the past couple of years, and I don't always keep the DVDs I buy (I'll give them away to folks in the market), but they still take up a heck of a lot of space in my house. That is a really good idea Barrett, and you've inspired me. Were you just lucky in getting boxes of the right size, or do they make them specifically for DVDs? I'm going to have to investigate, that would save me so much space!
I know what you mean about the seats. Several
years ago my parents, my brother and I (none of us small) went to a baseball game at Wrigley Field in Chicago. We were crammed in like sardines, and I ended up tearing a shorts pocket on the armrest of my seat. 🙄
Yikes! I went to see a comedian at that old music hall in Leeds. The comedian was good, but I was in agony! 😧
I hope so, too. And hey, the seats there are like church pews, so no seat-width problems. 😁
Brilliant! :D The problem with the old theatre seats is not so much the width, though that is bad enough, but there is almost no leg-space. Boy, did they cram 'em in!
Dang, that’s tough. I don’t know that I have an answer. I certainly have some ideas about what I think would make my ideal Lambsfoot (or at least a configuration I’d really like to see made) for carrying and using, but if we’re talking a hypothetical ANY Lambsfoot, I don’t know that I could put my ideal Lambsfoot over something with vintage or with historical significance.
You have some nice one anyway :)
Too right. It's as logical as "if you could have just 1" crazy😵‍💫
I have 2 that I am more than happy with🙂

It wasn't supposed to be like picking your favourite kid! 🤣

Sounds good. We can have it with our Scotch and cigars!
🤣
You guys live well! :)

Your making my brain hurt thinking Jack. 🤣 Vintage Sheffield any of the top cutlers. Modern Lambsfoot would be one of Jacks SFO Hartshead Stag Barlows.🤠
I'm touched :)
Thank you Jack. Glad you escaped the storm.

Beautiful old theater Jack and I love the camera waboom!
Thanks a lot pal :)
Like Vince I think it would be hard to beat your ivory lamb. And Jack if you want to go ahead and mail it I wouldn't worry about it. It's a risk I'm willing to take... 😁 ;)
LOL! :D I used to mail quite a bit of that stuff across The Pond, but they toughened up the laws, quite suddenly, just after I got that one :( I got a knife for Charlie, at the same time, and am not able to send it to him
Beautiful photo my friend, and an interesting-looking coin :) You always nail that Damascus

It's nice that one is so fondly thought of :) It's certainly nicely-made, but it wouldn't make my top half dozen :) Here's the one Stan Shaw made for me

Good morning Guardians, it's taking me a long time to catch up these days! I hope your week got off to a good start :) I'm still not sleeping well, and feel like snoozing on my keyboard! I have some more work to do today, and could also do with going into town, if I get time. Giving my pockets a treat with a Double Lambsfoot/Barlow Day! :D Have a good one Guardians

Picking a favourite kid, well that's easy, the 1 not being a contrary teenager cause Dad's have no idea 🤪
I do like the different blade profiles of my little flock.

You definitely should. It’s great! 😁

I’ve got a couple old VHS tapes lying around, but no way to play them! 🤣 The other day I was telling Eleanor about VHS rewinders. I think sometimes when I explain technology from the 80s/90s to her, she thinks I’m making it up. 😁

The good thing about DVD and Blu-ray is at least they can be played by the same machine.

That is a really good idea Barrett, and you've inspired me. Were you just lucky in getting boxes of the right size, or do they make them specifically for DVDs? I'm going to have to investigate, that would save me so much space!

I didn’t think I would like the sleeves as much as I do. They’ve really made a huge difference. I’ll send you a PM.

I got lucky with the storage boxes and found something in the dollar section at Target that worked perfectly. They hold right at 100 sleeves, with a little wiggle room so you can flip through them.

Brilliant! :D The problem with the old theatre seats is not so much the width, though that is bad enough, but there is almost no leg-space. Boy, did they cram 'em in!

Ah, yes. The leg room can be terrible, too. The first time we saw Old Crow at that same theater, I bought tickets that were right behind a railing above one of entry ramps. I thought it would be great — they were dead center and we’d have no one in front of us — but the railing provided even less leg room than sitting behind other seats would have, and was designed in such a way that you couldn’t extend your legs at all. That was when I learned the hard way that “movie goers knee” was a thing. 🙄

You have some nice ones anyway :)

Absolutely! (And in more cases than not that’s thanks to you.) 🙂

Bobstag Went out for coffee this afternoon.
