A bright knife for a dull day.

Enjoy that quiet day Jack. Your HHB is looking good.👍🏻
Thanks Bob, it's not been a bad one :) I managed to get a few things accomplished indoors, and then went to Charlie's for coffee and a muffin. Then I picked up some shopping, and strolled back home. Currently marinating some chicken for a stir-fry :)
Morning Guardians! HHB looking good Jack. Still Hurricane season here. 😁

Thanks David, it's easy to see why! :D
Glad to hear things are slowing down after your busy stretch. It's cold and drizzly here this morning as well so it'll be a good day to carrying my Albers with it's stainless steel.

Great pic of your Hartshead ! 👍
Thank you very much Steve, I hope it has brightened up some :)
Thanks pal. 45 colt

Brisket and Turkey on the smoker today. Started before sunup and will finish in the dark. A few brews will be in order... :)

I did wonder that Dwight, but do you know, it's so long since I handled firearms, I'm starting to lose touch. I haven't fired a handgun since the 1980's, I don't think, nor a shotgun since the mid 90's. That's a long time ago now :( Maybe I can find a range on Lanzarote ;) Cool pic buddy, that looks like a nice set-up :)
Nice jigging Bob

Thanks. It might be my first lambsfoot; Jack sent it to me quite a while ago.

For sure Barrett, I can remember when everyone got their mail before 9.00am, (we used to get ours just after my dad left for work at 7am), and there was a second delivery at lunchtime. Now, it can be late afternoon, because the poor posties have bigger rounds, and a stack of advertising leaflets to deliver :(

Wow, that’s early! And two deliveries a day! Very interesting.

We usually get ours here around 10 am.

I’ve noticed in recent years that I don’t see many of these Grumman LLVs delivering mail anymore. They’ve been ubiquitous here since I was a kid, and they have a sort of interesting history. The last one was made in 1994, so despite their name (LLV stands for Long Life Vehicle), I imagine most of them are about done for.

Starting next year we’re supposed to start seeing this new purpose-built USPS vehicle, called the Next Generation Delivery Vehicle, which has quite an… interesting look. 👀

Brilliant! :D

We need a special Guardians edition of Henderson’s with that stamp on the bottle. 😁

Yeah, I'm the dum-looking feller on the end, playing the triangle! 🤣

🤣🤣

Oh no! 😩 I hope Julie enjoyed it! :D

Oh yeah, she had a great time! 😁

It's brightened up a bit and the drizzle stopped so I was able to get a good outdoor pic of Gidget 👍

Always liked the look of those vans. Aust post for parcel delivery is sub contracted out, so they can turn up in a plain van or even just a sedan. I had 1ca couple of years ago want to drop and run. I stopped him and explained not mine and not even the right street. He realised he had delivered half a dozen parcels to the wrong streets😲
Our everyday postes only deliver letters even second day. Since the 70s posties have ridden step through motorbikes. As parcel deliveries have increased it was decided that posties would also carry small parcels. So in 2018/2019 ev trikes were introduced. Some posties still ride bikes, 1 postie was telling me they aren't great on hills. Funny looking things.
As Jack said larger area slower deliveries.
