Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, Christmas seems to be bearing down like a 10-ton truck, and I go away a week before that, so no shortage of things to do  Heavy rain is forecast all day here, so I think we'll probably end up in one of the local museums, unless Matt has any ideas. I'm sure we'll get some lunch somewhere anyway :) I hope everyone has a great weekend, and that it's better weather where you are :)

Beautiful stag on that Lamb. Hope you get some better weather before the day is over.

Now I think they are just making up words over there at the Leeds Library... :)

Great pic of your AC, hope you have a good day with your mate !

Looks good Rick

Stan liked to add a few more Maltese crosses, he could do them in seconds, but file-work, both on spring-backs, and blades goes way back before Stan. It hasn't stopped a few shysters trying to pass off contemporary A. Wright knives as Stan's since he passed away  I'm not sure when Wright's started using file-work, but possibly when they started doing their badly-named 'Senator' pattern. A former local vendor claims to have both conceived and named the pattern, while Wright's current owner makes the same claim. I know both of them well, and suspect that the vendor wanted a fancier knife to sell, and Stan's knives may have been an indirect influence, but maybe no more than that. A couple of more pics of the file-work on my Stan Shaw Lambsfoot, which covers the entire back-spring from well to tang, and extends down along the top of the blade :)

Definitely Mitch :) Hope you're pleased with them :)
It's a beauty Jack, for sure. Thanks for the reply!

Glad you're on the mend, Jack, and I'm lovin' that AC! Perfect stag.

I'm still flowin' with RALF. Wife and I are going to the local German club for some Christmas festivities today, should be fun.

Nice one Jeff ! I'm sure you have mentioned it before but what's the story on the textured cover ?

Rained all day here, and looks like continuing all night. :)😋
Same here mate, I don't know where it's all coming from! It's been cold, and rained hard all day, and now, (early evening), the wind has gotten up, and it's raining harder than ever. My street is already littered with tree branches, including some of size you wouldn't to get hit with! I hope you don't get any flooding Leon
Cheers Jack, I got 2 pair 1 fits perfect the other pair I need to get used to, slightly different shape

😲no rain here but got up to 42c/ 107f today
That's better than what I usually get Mitch :) One year, I had to go back 5 times! 🤨I told them that if I had to go in again, I'd expect an invite to their Christmas party! 🤔 I'm told that's the temperature at which Yorkshiremen melt! 😳🤣
Beautiful stag on that Lamb. Hope you get some better weather before the day is over.
Thank you David, considering how bad it's been all day, it's hard to believe it's actually gotten worse! 😳
Thanks Jack! Hope the knee is coming back round and the rain to
Thank you Jon, we managed to find a few things to do :)

I always enjoy seeing that owd 'un Steve :) Hope the snow doesn't get any heavier :)
Morning Guardians! Not sure who made this one. All I make out of the tang stamp is Harding & Sons. Can't find any info on this. Bright, sunny and moderate temperatures today. View attachment 2417966
Interesting David, has the good Sir Geoffrey of Tweedale anything to say? I shall be writing his Christmas card tomorrow. Possibly, it could have been made for a factor? A handsome knife for sure. It's incredible how many Sheffield cutlers produced a Lambsfoot, particularly bearing in mind how late it appeared

I hope everyone is having a good day :) I had breakfast at Charlie's, before calling round to Matt's, and after a cup of tea, we headed into town. We had a look round one of the museums, and then Matt's missus, and the kids, went to do some Christmas shopping, while me and Matt had a pint. Then we went for Thai, which was pretty good :) I'm worn out, and looking forward to a cup of tea, and a Digestive biscuit ;) :D

Jack 5 times? Nah I just end up adjusting them myself. The 1s I'm not used to are ultra light with thin ear pieces that feels odd.
It's been 4 years since I've had new 1s the greenies are creeping in 😫 you used to get a hard plastic clamshell case. Now it's a felt covered cardboard 1 I can crush by hand.
I don't think they get irony, 90% of the glasses they sell are plastic!

Sounds wild woolly weather, stay safe you don't want to miss the holiday.
Yeah it was warm but a few degrees cooler when I cooked a BBQ at SIL for nephews birthday.
It was Kristy, lorna & SIL I felt for they worked in the Cafe, kitchen would have been a lot hotter.
My SIL was going to cook BBQ, as her partner is slack and won't do it. I don't think that's fair.
Be cooler today will only reach 80f.

Sounds like a busy but enjoyable afternoon Jack. We are doing a little Christmas shopping online and took the dogs to the park for a nice long walk. 😎👍👍
