Many thanks my friend, fantastic work in both kitchen and field, those mince-pies look as great as your Lambsfoot

No margaritas at the Mexican! They had warm tequila shots on the door, with the option of warm lime juice. The food was distinctly average. Well, not average for Mexico, maybe for a Mexican restaurant in small-town Poland! That's probably a LITTLE unfair, (sorry Poland! ), but I didn't stay long. It's only 8.30pm, so I think I'll grab another drink, and head back to my room

LOL! Thanks pal! I've got talking to a few folks, but not in a big way. Annoyingly, I seem to have gone off alcohol somewhat!

By chance, I had to pass through the main buffet restaurant on my way back, and they had some delicious-looking food, including at least 2 Mexican dishes they didn't have in the Mexican restaurant!

Last day of work till after Christmas

Good for you Paul. Time with family.

My first attempt at making mincemeat pies for Christmas this morning. My Mother always made these for Christmas and now that's she's gone I figured I would give it a try.

Making the shortcrust dough was pretty easy, I did that yesterday. Rolling it out and filling is a bit fussy but also not too hard.

I've never had one but they look delicious Steve.

Some much needed rain has been coming down heavy here. I did my errands and anticipate being indoors the rest of the day. I love it. I got the holiday lights on to help me get into holiday spirit.

A nice day off. Wrapped about a hundred presents My wife says my wrapping skills are horrendous…….I know they are. Why do a nice job when the kids are going to rip them to shreds? I will be extra careful with hers. Might try my hand at a ribbon and bow. No…not the stick on kind. K’roo was faithfully in the pocket today. Don’t mind my messy Gun/reloading room. Only room I know my wandering kids can’t get into .

If you are taking down addresses, let me know as well. Those look so good. Did you use the suet or substitute another fat? I'm always curious if people actually use the heavy duty stuff!

Looks great!

Well since we both are carrying around the same knife, I'll tell you that it should break in and be buttery smooth in a week or so. I open and close mine a lot though.


Just to not show the same knife yet again, here is a nice photo of big soupy. If it could talk it would be very jealous of the new one......
