Good morning Guardians, I have a question for you! 😁 If I start on floor '0', descend 2 floors, then walk along a corridor, which floor am I on?! Send help! 😱😁

You're a connoisseur Mitch 🙂 Mine are the Leki Super Makalu. I actually have 3, due to a mistake when they were sent to me for review 😁 (I'd mention Jake The Peg, but we keep quiet about that feller these days! 😱) I was an early proponent of climbers and hillwalkers using poles and a short axe, rather than carrying a long-shafted ice axe. Caught on 👍

I hope everyone is keeping well. I had an early breakfast, and may go down to the beach, and get my feet wet later! 😁 I'm going to sit and read my book for a bit. I have an old friend, who is a novelist, and it's a bit of a standing joke that she sends me her books, and it takes me years to get round to reading them! 🙄😁

The answer to my question above: Floor 7!! 🤔😖🙄 An old chap in the elevator, the other day, gave me this advice, based on many years of wandering the corridors of this hotel: "Always head North!" 😁

In the United States, the ground floor is called the first floor & you count up from there...I did stay in a hotel in Pitttsburgh that was almost as bad as the one you're in. Built on hilly terrain, the "ground floor" changed, depending on which wing entrance you used. The way back from the bar to the room was always more confusing than the way there, but that coulda been the alcohol.

I’d call that “basement 2” maybe? But sure, why not 7th floor, haha. Maybe it was the seventh floor they completed when building the place 😆 … makes perfect sense!

It's like that some places in England too Rachel, though more traditionally ground level is Ground, with First the next one up. It's gotten increasingly confusing, with some elevators listing 'O' as Ground Floor, etc. Not as confusing as here though, where it seems every elevator is different to the next!

Two other English descriptions used to be 'Lower Ground', as well as 'Basement'. Here, I've seen everything from -3 through to 12! 😁 I don't think any of the buildings are actually higher than 4 floors! 😖😁👍

I just remembered that I'm going on a grand tour of the island tomorrow, which will be a long day, and hopefully, an exciting one. I have a seat in the Mexican restaurant booked for tonight, at 8pm.again unfortunately. I better try and limit my alcohol intake! 😱😁 I'm just having a cup of tea while I re-charge my camera batteries 👍

I think, if heading down, I'd refer to them as 'circles' rather than 'floors,' as in:

The fifth circle of H(ot)ell
The seventh circle of H(ot)ell
etc.

I think Dante would be amused. 🤣

No margaritas at the Mexican! 😱 They had warm tequila shots on the door, with the option of warm lime juice. The food was distinctly average. Well, not average for Mexico, maybe for a Mexican restaurant in small-town Poland! 🙄 That's probably a LITTLE unfair, (sorry Poland! 😁), but I didn't stay long. It's only 8.30pm, so I think I'll grab another drink, and head back to my room 👍
