Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Here's a few photos from my first day in Lanzarote, an island which I think has a really interesting history. My hotel was situated in a very attractive and peaceful position, about an hour or so's walk from Playa Blanca, the nearest town, and the very last hotel, before the Papagayo beaches.

The hotel had a beautiful interior, and I got the quiet room I asked for, with perfect views over to the island of Fuerteventura, which I had visited last Christmas

WOW!!!

Jack that looks beautiful- what a awesome view - I am so glad for you!

To be a guardian is not for the weak and faint of heart. It's a brutal existence of dedication and discipline. For example... photographing the elusive lambsfoot in the middle of a blizzard...

The regal lambsfoot in it's natural habitat...

This made me chuckle and reminded me that this enclosed first picture was me holding my Wrights stag well above my head last year.
And the second picture represents this winter. (I prefer this winter) :)

Some of you may remember, that on my first night at the hotel, I had considerable difficulty finding my way back to my room - I will never forget it! It was very tiring, and so when dawn broke the following day, I decided I'd be having an easy day. So, I explored the hotel a bit more, read my book, and explored the small beach immediately in front of the hotel.

The beach has a lot of rocks and pepples, but it's still attractive I think, with great views.

Across the bay is Corralejo in Fuerteventura.

I took this pic for Barrett btb01 btb01 ! :D

Up on top of the hotel is the Royal Elite Roof Terrace, and next to it is one of the two Royal Elite Lounges - a bit snobby, but the booze was good! :D

As well as having a paddle, I had a walk down the road behind the hotel, where there was a supermarket, and a few bars, shops, and restaurants. I also found my way up onto a couple of sections of hotel roof, which had great views over to the Papagayo beaches, and all over the area.

The sunsets are so beautiful on Lanzarote that they are something of an event, people gather to watch them, toast them, film them, sail towards them, dance to them, and they usher in the evening ahead.

I took so many photos Guardians, that I'm pretty much posting at random! So let me know if you'd like to see more, or less, of anything. My first adventure starts tomorrow, with a walk along the cliff tops to the twice-weekly market at Rubicon Marina, and Playa Blanca. For now, Buenos tardes ;)

Beautiful pictures Jack. So, what was the reason for leaving Elysium??? :) :)

LOL! :D I only wore them for that paddle, and a couple of times on my balcony, so I don't think my legs have changed colour much! :D

Back when I drove Paratransit during (or shortly after) college, I came into work on the first warm day of spring wearing shorts for the first time in months and some new bright neon green tennis shoes. As I walked up to the door, one of the old timers came out and pretended to shield his eyes. I asked him if it was the shoes or the legs. He replied, “Yep.” 😁

Well, it was 2 stages above the all-inclusive, but I got a reasonable deal ;) :D Thanks mate :)

😁

One of my favourites Barrett, if Tool Man has any Footprint items, I usually buy them :) Their old factory closed down a few years back, (it was really close to Stan Shaw's first workshop), but the firm are still going

Really interesting, Jack. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

One thing I dislike about taking pics of the Damascus Guardians Lambsfoot is you can’t capture the beautiful damascus blade, fancy bolsters, Ironwood covers and the coined liners and filed backspring all in one pic. So here’s one with all the good stuff that was left out of the pic I posted earlier. 🙂

Makes me think of the show last year…woke up to 6” of snow. Let’s hope the weather will be better than last year! Hope to see you at the Badger show. 😎👍

Thank you Jack - yeah....I found myself going back to it several times, so I thought- " Just buy it man" 🤣 so I did
Good decision :D

I'm with you Joe, they really are a nice treat :)
Thanks Todd, I hope I get time to post some more tonight
Back from our trip. We travel light and rarely check baggage, so when we travel I don’t usually have a knife. It feels really good to have a knife back in my pocket! 😎👍View attachment 2446525
That must have been a great feeling buddy :)
Very nice accommodations Jack. Beautiful photos mate!

Always love seeing that ebony jewel.

That's a great pic Barrett  I know just what you mean, in most of my Damascus pics, the blade just looks grey
Just saw the first post of one of Eric's latest release. Congrats to anyone who secured one, they look fantastic.
Hope to see a few of them here :)
Afternoon all.
Heading towards 4pm, not long home.
Went out this morning on a mission to find some new markets but we didn't find em😪 Kristy needed new work shoes, so we went and did that and had a late lunch at our local pub. Didn't even have a beer.

I reckon Tool Man would have a gnaw on those dog treats (I'm not joking)! 🤣

Good morning Guardians, I'm rushing a bit this morning, as I have a lot to do in the next couple of hours, before I head out for a day out with my mate Matt, and his kids. Hope everyone has a good day, and that you enjoy the weekend
