Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

You always take great photos of that knife Dwight
Interesting sculpture. I would place that figure about half way between hyper realism and expressionism, give or take a tenth.

I had to get round a very fat German man to take photos of it Jer! :D

One of our members on Bladeforums offered to sell to me an Albers Blue Rope LF knife at cost. Not sure how he found out I wanted one but I'm excited to be getting it and very thankful for Jason thinking of me.

That’s great, Bill. Always good to hear about folks looking after one another, especially as hard as some knives are to come by these days.

Carrying my KOTY for the Cowboys game. It was gifted to me by a misguided Redskins fan however 🤣🤣🤣. We will see how it plays out. Bring me luck Calamity.

Well, nobody’s perfect. 😁

I'm thinking of carrying this one tomorrow :)

Great patina, Jack!

Ridgeside is a brewery less than a mile away from me, with a small brewery tap. They are actually the second incarnation of the brewery, since they originally floundered after the original founder, and head brewer, died very suddenly. They hadn't been going all that long at the time, but their beers were good, and since the brewing team were all heavy metal fans, they also had quirky names - 'Desert Aire' being one, apparently a tribute to both Led Zeppelin, and Leeds' River Aire.

One day, I went into a bar I used to frequent, which was managed at the time by a friend of mine, and they had a new Ridgeside creation, 'Jailbreak', on tap. Looking at the crudely-drawn pump clip, I remarked to my mate Matt, that it was nice to see a new Ridgeside beer. "I know, said Matt, "But I'm going to have a word with them about their racial stereotyping."
"How do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, come on." Matt replied. "A beer called 'Jailbreak', and they had to put a picture of a Black man on the pump clip.
"Matt," I said. "I think you'll find that's supposed to be Phil Lynott!" 😖
To be fair, it was a very bad representation! 🤣

A jailbreak, you say, somewhere in this town? I reckon the jail is likely to be a good place to start! :D ;)

🤣🤣

Beautiful pic, Dwight.

Well, since impressionism and hyper-realism occupy nearly opposite ends of the art-movement spectrum, I think we can all agree that it falls somewhere squarely between those two extremes. 🤣 I'm going with "pseudo-realistic hyper impressionism" myself.

Lovely Lamb!

Thank you 😊

The device on the second picture is the racing version of the traditional kicksled from Sweden.

There’s a few places/ice skating operations here in Ontario and Quebec where they make ice trails though the forest by flooding them at night.
Here is a little video we took last winter
Dan, I enjoyed watching this video of you and your family skating and kick sledding. Amazing how fast and well handled those kick sleds are.

Jack, great to view the many wonderful pictures of your trip. Fascinating to see that fortified tower on the beach.

Yes, it was just time really David, I've spoken to him about it at least once. John Maleham had all the paperwork, and also knew Jackeasure Howarth, who not only owned Wright's, but his own firm, both of which John bought. There were so many cutlery firms in Sheffield, and it really was a labour of love for Geoff, since he never made any money out of his book. He was hoping to do a third edition, and to make it available, for free, online, but instead, he is helping out with Kelham Island Museum's 'Name on a Blade' index
I'm glad we have his book. It's a treasure to those of us interested in Sheffield cutlery history.

Definitely David, Geoff Tweedale's contribution to our knowledge of Sheffield cutlery history is huge. We owe him a great debt 👍
Cool pics Mitch 😎👍
I believe they are Baoding Balls.
Thanks, I've seen them often enough, and had vague explanations of their purpose, but never actually bothered to investigate further 👍

Obvious answer big brass 1s😂🤣🤣

But will is correct these 1s are hand painted 1 earth and 1 heavens. They have small bells in them to chime if you knock them together

LOL! Very nice Mitch :D :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm meeting Eve at lunchtime, not least since I still have most of her Christmas presents. Plenty to do, to occupy my morning, before then! Have a good one Guardians
