Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

There's over 80 breweries in the Sacramento area. This is an IPA town. A couple of years ago I went into a brewery in the area that must have had over 50 taps - all but two were some kind of IPA. (They had a stout but it was some kind of weird fruit-flavored stout.)

Despite living in Sacramento my whole life, I don't particularly care for IPAs. Give me a stout any day! Or a California Common, or a Mexican lager. Just don't give me an IPA, please. (Or put fruit in my stout.)
I live in the Wilmington, NC (Cape Fear River area). Small city of less than 200,000. We have approx 25 craft breweries. IPAs are always featured but I prefer the Lagers, Stouts and Ales. One of my good friends owns two of the craft breweries
https://www.facebook.com/BroomtailCraftBrewery/ and I always enjoy his products.
Thank you David, the honey was delicious :) I'm afraid that'll have to be it for my holiday snaps today, I don't want to crowd out the Lambsfoot content!

Here's a small piece of volcanic rock I picked up on the beach near my hotel as consolation! :D ;)

I'm just making a curry for tea :)
Thought that the location you were at was volcanic looking - looks like I was right. Love that K'Roo Lambfoot knife.

Good evening brother. I've been kicked back with some Knob Creek 9. Have a great weekend with your sweet bride.
Thanks Dwight, I bet that KC9 is some powerful medicine! I’ve got a bottle of single barrel 4 Roses I’ve been working on. I hope the four of you have had a good week. 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Some of you have heard about our grandson Gage who just graduated high school last summer. He turned 19 today (saturday) and this is a couple of pics of him doing what he does best. Yeah, I'm a little proud of him. Every weld is x-rayed. He's the one that's upside down. 😁

Happy birthday to him and you must be extremely proud! With that skill set he can go anywhere!
Are you sure it's just beer in there?🌹💀🌹

Cheers Pete :)
Cheers Jack. Thanks for sharing your pictures and adventures from your latest trip. 😎
One of our members on Bladeforums offered to sell to me an Albers Blue Rope LF knife at cost. Not sure how he found out I wanted one but I'm excited to be getting it and very thankful for Jason thinking of me.

What a beauty Bill! Can’t wait to see it when it arrives. 👍🏻👍🏻
Carrying my KOTY for the Cowboys game. It was gifted to me by a misguided Redskins fan however 🤣🤣🤣. We will see how it plays out. Bring me luck Calamity.

Go Cowboys! If we win I don’t know if I’ll be more excited about the NFC #2 playoff seed or being able to watch all the Eagles’s fans whine about losing the division!

It’s a toss up.

Dirty hands make clean money. Very impressive. Being a proud Grandpa is warranted 1000%. Happy Birthday to that young man.

Very nice David, it's a shame that Geoff's entry for Wright's is so brief (there's more information here, but not really compiled in one place), and I have to say, I'm not sure he's right about Stan

Fantastic pic Dwight, it's nice to see your workshop
Thanks Jack. That's Cherri's wood shop. :)
Happy Birthday to Gage buddy, I hope he got to take some time off :) That job doesn't look easy
He not only didn't get his birthday off, he worked through the entire weekend. I told him - "Welcome to the salt mines my friend..." 😁 BTW - That's a handsome Mitch burger!
El Castillo de Las Coloradas
Very interesting Jack. I see where the name comes from. Beautiful red rock coast.

Thanks Jack! Looks he could have added a lot more info easily enough since the firm is still operational and numerous people still alive who have been involved A Wright over the years.

I'm thinking of carrying this one tomorrow :)

Ridgeside is a brewery less than a mile away from me, with a small brewery tap. They are actually the second incarnation of the brewery, since they originally floundered after the original founder, and head brewer, died very suddenly. They hadn't been going all that long at the time, but their beers were good, and since the brewing team were all heavy metal fans, they also had quirky names - 'Desert Aire' being one, apparently a tribute to both Led Zeppelin, and Leeds' River Aire.

One day, I went into a bar I used to frequent, which was managed at the time by a friend of mine, and they had a new Ridgeside creation, 'Jailbreak', on tap. Looking at the crudely-drawn pump clip, I remarked to my mate Matt, that it was nice to see a new Ridgeside beer. "I know, said Matt, "But I'm going to have a word with them about their racial stereotyping."
"How do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, come on." Matt replied. "A beer called 'Jailbreak', and they had to put a picture of a Black man on the pump clip.
"Matt," I said. "I think you'll find that's supposed to be Phil Lynott!" 😖
To be fair, it was a very bad representation! 🤣

A jailbreak, you say, somewhere in this town? I reckon the jail is likely to be a good place to start! :D ;)

Oh, nice, Dwight! :D Poor old Gage :( Having said that, I don't remember getting many birthdays off work, back in the Dickensian period! :D Thank you my friend, it was a tasty one too, topped it with bacon, cheese, tomato and chilli relish, and some Secret Aardvark ;) I hope I can get back to Lanzarote again at some point :)
Looking good Pete :) I might wear my 'Keep Calm and Fix (AK) Bayonet' T-shirt tomorrow :D

Yes, it was just time really David, I've spoken to him about it at least once. John Maleham had all the paperwork, and also knew Jack Howarth, who not only owned Wright's, but his own firm, both of which John bought. There were so many cutlery firms in Sheffield, and it really was a labour of love for Geoff, since he never made any money out of his book. He was hoping to do a third edition, and to make it available, for free, online, but instead, he is helping out with Kelham Island Museum's 'Name on a Blade' index
