Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I think that I have many knives that IMHO are prettier than my Old TEW Lambsfoot but I much prefer to use it than most of them . Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder .
I think the wharncliffe is the most beautiful of all the blades. But the lambsfoot couples a similar blade nestled in a similarly sensually curved body. The lambsfoot is poetry. fullsizeoutput_b26.jpeg

Sorry for my temporary absence friends, I went down with some weird virus or food-poisoning 36 hours ago, and it really has been very unpleasant. Still not out of the woods, but at least I've stopped hallucinating!

Hoping to catch up soon

Jack, there is a void when you're not around, here's to a quick recovery all the best to you. :)

Jack, I always thought that British food was potentialy dangerous! :D
More seriously, I hope you'll soon get rid of the problem and have a quick and full recovery!:)

You're very kind my friend :) It's good to see this thread ticking along very nicely though :)

Or have you?

Sure you have. Glad you're over it.
I don't think I've ever hallucinated. Those voices are real. :D

!

Thanks pal, that was the worst part of it. I think I've only had food-poisoning three times, but I also had hallucinations once before, maybe I am susceptible to them! :D

You might be right JP ;) Though the last time I had food-poisoning was after eating in Barcelona

Thank you my friend, I was at the hospital on Monday, so it is possible I picked up something there (British hospitals are potentially dangerous too). It's hard to pin it down to anything I ate, even though food-poisoning is probably the most likely prognosis :(

The Big ‘Un and I are getting on just fine, Jack! It’s the perfect size for the blade shape, in my humble opinion. I also find the rosewood on this particular one to be quite interesting.

That's great to hear my friend, your Big 'Un is pretty unique :)

I carry a Lambsfoot because I can .

Harry

I never tire of seeing that beauty Harry :) Fine old Lambsfoot knives seem to be getting harder and harder to pick up. Maybe in the New Year, I will have to return to my hunting days ;) :)

Thank you Jack. That's high praise but truthfully, I just take a bunch of photos so the law of averages is on my side. :)

I take the scatter-gun approach myself my friend, but I never seem to be able to get results like that! :D

Greg, your lambsfoot advertising campaign has really taken off; I knew you were the man to put in charge of publicity! :D:thumbsup::cool:

I'll second that GT, Greg is doing a great job :)

Thanks for playing along, folks. It’s important to underscore the versatility and utility of the pattern from time to time lest anyone think they’re just pretty knives. :D

It was an excellent idea Greg, hoping it'll run a bit longer :) Well said

Lambsfoot knives are pretty? o_O

What I'm about to say might get me run out of these parts, but I don't think the lambsfoot knife is all that pretty, at least not compared to its curvy relative the wharncliffe.

You have to handle a Lambsfoot before you can love it Christian ;)

Thanks, Jack; all of the ACs seem incredibly photogenic! :)
I hope you can lose the cough soon!:( Skeletal and muscular things I'm willing to accept as permanent "diseases" I just have to learn to live with, but I'd be very reluctant to accept a deep cough as something that will be with me from now until death do us part!
Marilyn is a bombshell! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:;)

We did well with that batch of vintage Sambar GT, I hope we can get more in the future :)
Thank you my friend, compared to some of my other ailments the cough isn't that debilitating, but I do worry that it has become part of me, and that I'll get branded 'Coughing Jack' or something! I'll pass that on to Marilyn ;)

Yikes, that chopper rising above the house tops is rather ominous!
Thanks for the fashion show, Jack! ;):cool: My suspenders function well, but I don't think I could pull off the skull & crossbones motif like the dread pirate Black can!

It was a bit Apocalypse Now outside for 30 minutes or so. I'm not sure if it was the same one, as there were several choppers involved, but at least one of them actually flew up one of the adjacent streets at below roof height! As it emerged at the junction opposite where I was standing, I tried taking another pic on my phone, but missed it unfortunately :(

Thanks for noticing that , Dave!:thumbsup:
Woo Hoo!! That's an impressive benchmark! Congrats on the 30K posts, Jack!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks again guys, it quite crept up on me :)

What do you prefer, Jack, the pirate suspenders or the Santa belt?? :D:thumbsup:
(Anyone else reminded of the film Village of the Damned by Jack's photo??)

...

My lambsfoot for this week is my 2017 Guardians buffalo horn lambsfoot that I call my Lam Jack.

Definitely the former GT! I had a couple of down jackets under the belt to add some padding (probably need less of it now), and the wig, hat, and beard are pretty hot too. When I entered the community centre, they had the heating cranked up to maximum, and I thought I was going to pass out! :D Yes indeed! :D Nice to see your Lam Jack :)

I'm with you Rachel, Gary and Vince I am sure there are many others Jack knows what he's doing.:thumbsup:

Thanks guys :) I'd originally envisaged setting up one of the private discussion groups, which used to be a BF feature before the last big software change. Always happy to hear what people fancy though :)

Well said Harry :)

As is your photo Dwight :)

I happened to look at the "Tang Number Chart: Main Blade Identity" at the GEC website. 0 stands for Wharncliffe main blade, 1 is regular clip, etc. I was surprised to see the entry "C Lambs Foot"! Has that always been on the chart, or is something new "afoot"??

Sorry you had a rough go of it, Jack, but glad you're back.

Sorry to hear you’ve not been well Jack,I’m sure it’s nothing a pie and a pint won’t cure:D

Thanks gents, much appreciated

The C was used by GEC for the pattern designation on Charlie's 'Ancient Barlow' GT :) However, Charlie has been petitioning GEC to make a Lambsfoot for some years now, and hopefully it will eventually come. When it does, I'm sure it'll be a beauty

My guess is the latter. Never seen a GEC lambsfoot.

Edit: Looks like I responded same time as Jack. He knows everything!

Jack, I told you before, you've got to stop using those Magic Mushrooms in your cooking!:p

Carried this for "Lambsfoot Thursday" (has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?).
Hope you're feeling better, Jack.

I know more than I can tell I'm afraid ;) What I don't have is a pic of the pile side tang stamps (or even of the pile side) on either on my Ancient Barlows - despite having taken over 120 pics  :D I'm sure Charlie @waynorth will have one :)

Hope your feeling better soon Jack! :)

Thanks a lot Ron, starting to feel a bit better today

Thank you Vince, I appreciate that my friend :) Cool pic of your AC, and that looks like a fancy hat-band :) Lambsfoot Thursday sounds good to me, and Lambsfoot Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday...;) :D

It has been a strange week for me, and I've kind of lost track of the days, but I thought I'd carry this one again for Black Friday :)

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts and good wishes folks, I hope that you all have a good Friday, and an even better weekend
