Thanks Dwight kind words indeed. It was just a rough and ready bookcase to tidy up a corner of a spare room. Couple of the joints were quite a poor fit in the end but I was thinking it 'seems' sturdy enough when an old Viking saying popped into my head;
'Praise day at even, a wife when dead, a weapon when tried, a maid when married, ice when 'tis crossed, and ale when 'tis drunk'.
...and bookcases when they have books on
Vince, it doesn't get any better than that!![]()
Enjoying a cigar & bourbon on my back porch with my yellow lab/blue heeler, listening to Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett (Italian kick), Billie Holliday, and even Bob Dylan (Must be Santa): bought our Christmas tree today.

It MIGHT get better: watching football now, and will be making a fresh batch of mashed potatoes to go with the leftover turkey! Then Notre Dame will crush USC tonight. As the kids say today: "Sweet!"Vince, it doesn't get any better than that!even the pupper is chilling..

This pic reminds me of the only food I know that is literally and consistently "mouth watering" for me: Hostess Ding Dongs (or King Dons or whatever they call them now). When I open my mouth to take a bite of one, drool invariably falls out of my mouth!Sausage roll's love them Arrgghh

David, that's quite an insightful listing of great rivalries!...
In the history of the human race there have been some great rivalries. Communism and the Free Market West, the English and the French, God and Satan.... But these were just trifling spats in comparison to the supposed rivalry between the two English counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire.
...
A not so remarkable vista from my walk on Thursday.

I like the "up close and personal" pic of your lambsfoot pair, Dwight!

You definitely seem to be living' large deep in the heart of Texas, Vince! It MIGHT get better: watching football now, and will be making a fresh batch of mashed potatoes to go with the leftover turkey! Then Notre Dame will crush USC tonight. As the kids say today: "Sweet!"
Where in the world did you find the candid photo of a young Jack Black, Dave?!?Good Morning Jack.It seems one of your locals is saddened that is the glass is just about empty

Been a great weekend. Highlight was probably seeing my two grandaughters together for the first time. The three-year-old from Fort Worth came to visit us and her newborn cousin. You definitely seem to be living' large deep in the heart of Texas, Vince!
I see, and like, what you did there with the "Holy Smokes"!![]()
Ya gotta dig around in the local Newspaper archives to find these ones.Where in the world did you find the candid photo of a young Jack Black, Dave?!?![]()

Can't blame Union Jack for not wanting to vacate the dock of the bay.Union Jack in August, with no threat of snow the next day!

Some great shots everyone, hope you all have nice weekends lined up![]()
Superb stygian selection, Jack!
And thanks for the Union Jack comment; my wife and daughter certainly did choose wisely!
Cute kid, Dave! But I think he needs some knife-safety instruction. A butter-fingered geezer like me would NEVER carry an open knife while my feet were bare - I've dropped knives too many times!

The "emptiness" in that photo presents quite a remarkable vista to an old farm boy who has lived the past 35+ years in a metropolitan area containing over a million people.
