Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I am sorry to hear about your loss my friend.

What a beautiful lambsfoot Kevin. :)View attachment 1024018 I haven't had much to say lately but you all make life a little brighter. The last week and a half has been rough. I laid my dad to rest yesterday.
Sorry to hear that, Dwight. May he rest in peace. Lost my father 30 years ago, and I know what you are going through. God bless you and your family.

Sorry for your loss my friend. It helps to think about all the good times.

Thank you men. I appreciate your kind words. I know this isn't the place for sadness. Just had to let it out I guess. We all pass this way soon or later and I'm not complaining about it. The memories are good ones.

Thank you, GT. Senator Jack is looking dapper.

Thanks Jack. It looks like you have some fine hiking territory in your parts.

Have a stupendous week Guardians!

You have some fine photographic skills! I can't get my horn lambsfoot to look anywhere near as good as that :(

The village of Heptonstall has two old churches, which share a graveyard, that is the older ruined church, the 13th century Church of St Thomas a' Beckett. There's a good aerial view of the church here: https://www.visitcalderdale.com/ruins-of-the-church-of-st-thomas-a-becket. That Needham Lambsfoot is a bold one my friend! :D

Those muffins look absolutely delicious, you lucky gentleman :D :)

Without referring to my maps, that must be the Hepstonstall near Hardcastle Crags? Didn't know about those ruins.

Wait a minute; are you claiming that you now walk on water?!!?:p:D

Here's another pic of my lambsfoot since last Monday, the honorable Senator Man Jack:

Over here in Lancashire, we were always told that as Yorkshire is 'God's Own Country', all Yorkshiremen can walk on water :D:D

Good Morning, Jack that building in the background looks somewhat spooky  the lambsfoot, however, doesn't seem afraid.:D
I have a wee bucket of muffins this morning.

That is what's so cool you have years and years of history. Over here its only the past few hundred years.

The Beginning, 1888
William Cornelius Van Horne had a vision to bring the beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to the rest of the world. He commissioned blueprints for an impressive hotel to be built at the convergence of the Bow and Spray River, in what is now known as Canada's first National Park. Construction began in 1887 and the hotel publically opened on June 1, 1888.

That hotel is amazing! But that bucket of muffins makes me want to emigrate....:D

My condolences sir, to you and your family.

Today I'll either be in the garden or attempting to build a bookcase so something with a bit of heft will be required.

Thanks, JB! Every time I grab this beautiful knife out of my knife chest, I marvel at the depth of the horn. It is a wonderful material!

You captured it wonderfully Shawn

I misplaced my knife someplace and can't find it. :( Gotta bring out the buffalo horns now! :D

Hope you find it soon

Love this knife. (Old pic.)

Nice pic Vince :)

Thanks for your encouraging words about reinvention, walking on water, and my Man Jack, Jack my man! ;):cool:
Here's one of the few strange songs of the 1960s:

Thanks for the report on the gun show and on your wife's and your shared interest in knives, Vince!:cool::thumbsup:

:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

;)

;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

You'll probably know when it's time for Suzee, Dave, but it will still be hard. :( At the end, we had to wake Stella to take her outside, to try to get her to eat/drink a little; basically, she had no quality of life anymore, but it was still sad to see her go (but maybe sadder and more selfish to try to keep her hanging on a little longer).

Frankie looks like a distinguished dog, Russell, and he's obviously completely enamored with your Ashley's Choice!;)

:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: @Jody744 , @bonzodog , Prester John Prester John , Lotta fine stag on patrol this week!

Good to see that your stygian ebony lambsfoot doesn't completely suck all the fall color out of the universe, Jack! :p:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for honoring my Man Jack, FBC. :) Your two-tone horn model is breathtaking, and I especially like the way it "coordinates" with some of the vintage CA plates!:cool::thumbsup:

Very nifty Needham, Jack; it does indeed look solid!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I still wear my "lucky tie" when I give tests in the only class I'm teaching this semester. Other than that, my ties have joined me in retirement. I used to typically wear ties when I went to observe student teachers in their placements in local middle and high schools, so that worked out to about 35 to 70 days of tie-wearing between Labor Day and Christmas each year, but those days are gone now. (A decade or more ago, I often wore a sport coat or even a suit on those visits, but those vestments are now gathering dust in my closet.)

Dave, I try to ignore all the food that appears in this thread, but those little muffins are more like fuel for your high-altitude, low-temperature existence than they are like normal food! ;):thumbsup:

Union Jack will be here all week:

Thanks for your kind words and for the tunes GT :D When I taught English in France, if I wore the same suit or tie twice I got gossiped about! Hope you're enjoying carrying your Union Jack, it's looking well :) Perhaps because they are common here, I think I have tended to overlook the rosewood models, but the wood is certainly beautiful

I carry a lambsfoot ...

because it gives me comfort when the gales of November come early.

How 'bout you?

Nicely captured GT :)

Very sorry to hear that Dwight :( Sincere condolences my friend, to you and your family, and I hope that time eases the sorrow. Thank you for that lovely photo

It is indeed David, up on the hill above Hebden Bridge, an old weaver's village, but with two pubs and a small museum. It's well worth visiting in my opinion. I've mentioned it in a couple of prior threads (including the Wizard's Quest), but unfortunately, the photos are gone now. I think you would enjoy the annual Pace Egg play on Good Friday

I'm carrying my AC today

My deepest condolences, Fodderwing.

I'll be spending today shuttling to and from the airport, picking up my brothers. After I get back, I'll have to decide which Lambsfoot will be with me on Thanksgiving Day. I'm leaning toward the li'l sambar.

It doesn't seem like two minutes since last year! Hope you all have a wonderful time together Rachel, and that you and all our other US Guardians have a very happy Thanksgiving Day :)

I think I'm going to carry this one tomorrow, from 2017

Thank you, Jack! All the organizing has me stressed out, but once they get here, I'm sure we'll have a lovely time.
