Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians. Getting the house ready for guests this afternoon - around 25 of them! Friends and neighbors for cocktails and nibbles. Inspired by Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 I'm breaking out my Albers Blue Rope too.

Gorgeous- Hey did Eric carve his own Handles for this release? Looks Great!

Happy you received some proper treatment today Jack.👍🏻
Thanks Bob, have to see how it goes
I sure hope you don't lose any teeth and I'm happy that you finally got some relief and a new crown.
Thanks Steve, me too. There was nothing wrong with those teeth a year ago
What's life without dessert!
Way to go Bob! 😋
Sorry to hear it Jack. I hope it doesn’t get to that point.
Thank you Jeremy, me too, or I'll be living on soup :(
Don't worry, Bob, I put chocolate on my hot dogs, too! Roper in pocket.

That was my first thought! :D Great pic :)
Evening Guardians! Sawman today.

Sweet David

Not really common at all Jack. I got the name from the book - "To Kill A Mockingbird" - Atticus Finch's little girl's name was Scout. I believe the same goes for Barrett's little beauty too.
Thank you Dwight, that's sweet :)
I can't even begin to imagine being at the mercy of a UK lawyer navigating the UK court system!!!😅🤣 🥹
Yes, good grief, cases go on for years, and lawyers get rich. Heaven help anyone who needs one for anything serious. When I was younger, and had more energy, I took a couple of cases to the 'Small Claims Court', without a lawyer, and won them both. There are these ambulance-chasers who'll take the case for a cut of the loot, but apart from anything else, their competence is questionable
That delicious pic made me think of our pal Cigarodog... I do miss him. Hey Bob I was served chicken covered in chocolate gravy once in an El Salvador restaurant. It was actually very good! 😃
Yes indeed :( I used to add a couple of grated squares of dark chocolate (85% cocoa solids) to chilli, towards the end of cooking. I believe it's quite common with savouries in some South American countries. Someone bought me some 100% Cocoa solid chocolate back from Ecuador, and cooking was the only thing I would have done with it :D
Another great pic buddy :) Love that stag
Been away today. Don’t burn me at the stake 😂. Carried the horn lamb today. Hope everyone had a good day. Long multiquote to follow.

LOL! Beautiful Lamb my friend :) That's a LONNGGG multi-quote! :D
I was nervous for you all day, Jack. Sweet picture my friend.
Aw, thanks pal :)
The weather there is awful. Let my man get some damn sunshine for crying out loud!!!!
LOL! :D The weather forecasters seem unusually accurate this week - rain again! 😖
🙄🙄🙄. Appalling Jack. Glad you had some stuff done. Hope your not in pain.
Thanks again buddy, no pain, but my replaced crown is sitting a little high :(

Good and bad news Jack, hope it works out for you. I bet your not pining for the good old days. 😉
Thanks Mitch :) Those pics are horrific, but there must be similar scenes going on up and down the UK in 2024!

Here are some Victorian dental pliers I picked up some years back. Maybe I should have hung onto them

Hey - you made it, and a good showing too!

Hi, I missed a week or so (got taken by a fit of barlow fever) and have just now finished catching up on 20+ pages of lamby goodness. A few things I've observed:

1. When Jack Black Jack Black says "Good morning, Guardians" it's too early and I should still be asleep and when @mitch13 says "Afternoon All" I should probably already be in bed! 🤣

2. Posting pictures online is a dicey gamble at best. At worst, treacherous, unforgiving, and abusive.

3. It was fortunate that I delayed upgrading to a BF gold membership, as it gave me time to become properly acquainted with image hosting sites before the walls started breaking loose.

4. You fellers have a bunch of really sweet lambs!!!

Anyhow, I'm back. Feels good. I'm supposed to post a picture now, right? ok.

Now, I know that they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like the GEC 88 lambs -- in fact I just used this DIW one to shave my girlfriend

oqcMTDc.jpeg

... some chorizo, for a midnight snack! She even commented on how thinly they were sliced! "Almost translucent" was, I believe, how she put it.

Wait a minute, y'all didn't think I actually used the knife to... you know what? never mind... 🤣

Anyway, I guess it's a very personal thing, but just looking at the 88 lambs, I'd have thought that those prominently raised blades would have impacted comfort during use. In practice though, I find that, regardless of which blade is being used, the other kinda fits into the creases of my fingers, which serves to help me keep the whole affair properly aligned and aids in tasks such as slicing chorizo quite thinly. Might help with other things too, but not shaving. Definitely not shaving. 🤣
Good to see you back, and with some good observations :) Great pic of your #88, and nicely-shaved chorizo :)
In recovery after my first colonoscopy. As far as I’m aware all clear I was still a little out of it when I asked the nurse.

At home now playing with and admiring my nicely patina’d lamb cures all ailments!

Blimey Ken, I sure hope you're doing OK, not a nice thing at all. Tool Man has had a bunch of them, and endoscopies. I joke that he's getting to like them   Feel better soon mate
Always will be one of the nicest Horn Handled Knives! Awesome!
Thank you very much my friend :)

Sorry folks- nothing but me catching up after being away for awhile. 😵‍💫
It's always a pleasure when you call in Duncan :) I hope your week is going well :)
Thanks Jack! Hope you have a good day.
Thanks a lot David, I've just been chatting to Tool Man on the phone :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone's week got off to a good start (hope yours gets better Ken) About a year ago, maybe more, I helped out an old friend, whose latest novel is set in Leeds, with locations, background info, contacts, etc. Her book is finally out, and she is currently on a book tour. On Wednesday evening, I'm invited to attend at Leeds Library for this, but Ajay and Jim, her feller, are already in the area, and coming over to Leeds this evening, so we're going out for dinner and a few pints. Before then, though, I need to go into town to buy some provisions, and I'll undoubtedly call in at Charlie's for a coffee or two ;) Have a great day everyone  I'm carrying my Albers Lamb :)

Lovely Handles on that one !

I'm thinking of taking legal action
I was going to say I hope the lines for lawyers are shorter.

Everybody loves lawyers, poor lambs.
Her book is finally out, and she is currently on a book tour.
What's the title and author?

Blackadder returns.
