Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians !

Baxter Lamb today 👍

Steve your lambs could have their own wing in the London British Museum. Incredible oldie!
Thanks for the pic buddy :) I'm using 'PostImage', but definitely posting less pics. I'm afraid I don't have much faith in the technical side of the site anymore :(

G'day Guardians, it's only just after 5.00pm here, but it feels like 7.00pm, the market always wears me out! It was raining when I left home, but brightened up nicely in the afternoon :)

Tool Man was his usual greedy self! After a light breakfast at home, by 8.30am, he had polished off a hefty sandwich, made from half a loaf of bread, and a fried breakfast. Someone had brought us down 4 very large slices of his wife's Victoria Sponge, and he immediately downed one of these, followed by another half (I had one piece, and didn't eat for the rest of the day). He then ate 4 custard doughnuts, some homemade 'cheese twists', and later, before I had left, around 2pm, he ate 4 small apple pies, and 2 medium-sized pork pies! 😳

I had to pick up a parcel on the way home, (my blood pressure machine), from a shop near Charlie's cafe. Hisham was in, together with his dad, and his older brother, who was visiting from Italy, so I had a cup of coffee with them. I found nice new potatoes in the market, so had them with some Lincolnshire sausages, fried onions, and mushrooms, peas, and brown gravy, along with a glass of a 13 year old Gran Reserva Rioja I bought on my Christmas hols 😋 Nap time I reckon ;) I hope everyone is having a good day
👍
Mr & Mrs Tool Man usually have a Chinese takeaway on Thursday evenings, but tonight they are having some chicken thighs! :D I know this because even while Tool Man had his face stuffed full of cake, he was telling me how much he was looking forward to the dish!
I would think it would take a mountain of yard birds to supply enough thighs for Toolman. :D
Just peaking in to check on the commoraderie and classic cutlery.
Stunning K'roo lamb Bob. Sorry to hear your brother is a bit down.
Afternoon Guardians! Boss riding shotgun today. 🤠

Beauty David!

These houses go for about a £1 Million,
And here I was thinking you lived in a van down by the river... ;)😄🤣 Life is a struggle... ☺️

Good mornin Guardians.
Hello Jeff! Good to see you here mate! Beautiful lamb!

The % of elderly people that have a fall and are dead within 12 months is absolutely frightening. It is not included in statistics as a fall being the cause of death, they don't want to appear as though they don't care, which we all know is a complete Furphy. The Health Departments across the world love massaging figures to give the results they want to give us. Sorry rant for the day. Just about to have a coffee on Saturday morning. Have a good weekend everyone. 😍😍😍.

A rehashed photo, did not want to smother the page with a new monstrosity from Imgur. Sorry another Rant. 😂😂😂.
Leon beautiful lamb! May I inquire as to the handles are?

Good evening, Guardians. At work and going 100mph. Finally have a minute to sit and relax. Got the Charlie lamb today. In the background of the photo is one of our Sniper Towers. They are shooting the Barrett M107 .50 cal today and tonight out of it. Awesome weapon system. When a shoulder fired rifle is labeled as anti material……you know it does some damage 😂.

Wow! I didn't know you had one of Duncan's Kiwi boxes!👍

Yes and I cherish it as well as Duncan's friendship 👍

Well... the best laid plans of mice and men...

No luck in striking water ?

Sweet Barlow Lamb !

He's got some goodn's hasn't he.   🤠

Thanks Leon !

Awesome !

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a good start. H herder and I got into Eugene late last night for the Oregon show, and we spent most of the day at the show today. I’ll post a bit more about it in a more appropriate thread (although I’ve done a terrible job taking pictures so far), but there was one thing I picked up that I wanted to share here in the Guardians thread.

The handle shape of this William Rodgers was the first thing stood out to me, then I noticed the distinctive profile of the spey blade (don’t worry, Jack, this’ll be the only time I share this one in this thread with both blades open). I actually didn’t realize that the knife had a Lambsfoot blade at all until I opened it, so that was a pleasant surprise!

Now my knowledge of Sheffield brands and history is admittedly not great, but I was at least familiar with the name William Rodgers, and while I didn’t know if this was an older knife or a perhaps a more recent production (I know Egginton owns the name now), it was unique, and inexpensive, and (most importantly) it was the only Lambsfoot I had seen all day. So, of course, I had to pick it up. 😁

(As for the age, Neal’s opinion after looking the knife over was 1950s or 60s.)

That is so beautiful, Barrett. See what happens when you go Spey hunting! Magic.

Afternoon all, just got home.
As you know anniversary yesterday, had thai for dinner.
Kristy said she got me a present, we don't do presents. It was tickets to

FASHION THRIFT SOCIETY SALE

Markets on today, gift for me🙄 irony is kristy didn't buy anything & I scored a new leather vest for a bargain.
Had to get bread on the way home so had a coffee.
Snakewood today, only pic today.

Picked some fresh asparagus for supper.

Mmm, one of my favourite vegetables :)
I am well, Jack ~ thanks!
One thing the US and UK must have in common is the revolting phenomenon kniwn as Pricey Hipster Joint. Overpriced bad food in small portions🙄
Great to hear that you're well Jeff :) Terrible news on the International Hipster Conspiracy! 🤨😀
Fully concur on Rant #1.
Regarding Rant #2…
Have you tried https://postimg.cc/8s0t5GjL/f138a97b

Works pretty slick and painless on a smart phone ~ no membership, no storage, no $.
Five clicks start to finish and you can just paste it.
Click the little picture (5th symbol from left at the top of the BF dialogue box), click the paperclip, paste your photo, and hit Enter.

Sorry, no idea how easy it is with a real camera and computer.
Works OK for me :)
Thanks buddy, just getting my feet up now 👍
I hope you have a relaxing weekend buddy :)
Cudgee I always use a free app called PICASA 3 on my computer that I downloaded, I take photos- then from my Camera - download them onto my computer into a file where ever you wish - I use a file called " Latest photos" and download from my camera to that file.

Because my "Latest Photos" File is on my Desktop- once I double click on my Picasa 3 Icon- it opens up and automatically downloads any new photos on my desktop - the the worlds is you oyster for resizing, maybe you want to edit out bits of fluff in the photo- darken it- edit till the cows come home my friend.

Then.....

I simply highlight what ever photos I want to send back to any place on my computer (as you know you can store where you want)- simply click Browse- and find the spot you want to store them. ( this is called the "EXPORT LOCATION" ).

I export these edited photos to another file call "Latest Photos edited" which is also on my Computer screen/ desktop - now that I have chosen a spot I want to have the photos sent to - I choose the size of my photos - you have options to either use original size( don't do that because the photo you will load on your post will be gigantic) or, you and you can choose to resize them- which I do - I use 800 PIXALS.
You can add a water mark or name to the photos when exporting etc.

All this above sounds quite complicated, but I find it suits me with the editing- especially the cropping, shadowing - so many things.

So I don't use Imgur to do my editing, I simply use it for the ability to give me the link to be able to post a photo on a Website.
Sounds good Duncan
Those Boxes I always thought were perfect for that one particular knife to sit in! 🙃
They are absolutely beautiful :)
Thanks for your imput, but you lost me at App, Computer and Download. Myself and Tech are like Lions and Hyenas, natural enemies that avoid confrontation at all costs.
LOL! :D Compared to Tool Man, you're like the 'Techie' sat outside in the unmarked operations van, taking out the cameras, and riding a Trojan Horse through the backdoor of a Wormhole! 🤣
No, I don't think so. It really doesn't bother me. I look at it and think, "Ha! Let's see you dry out and curl up now!"

🤣
Bonus pic

Fabulous photo  :)
Thanks brother.

Cool image of a might fancy tuxedo clad lamb.
Thanks a lot Dwight :)

Good morning Guardians, I haven't quite caught up here, but need to get moving, as I'm going out for the day. Hoping to fully catch up before I leave :) I'm meeting my mate Matt, and his lad Cillian, in Charlie's, and then we're going to go for a walk, and go see a movie :) Should be a nice day (might even get a pint in ;) ) :) Wishing everyone a great weekend

One of a kind Lamb ! 😍

Verah nice!
Thanks, Fellas. Fine lambs yourselves.
Hectic times my friend, but I think you will look back on them fondly one day :) That Lamb looks better and better, with the contrasting grey patina  I hope you had an easy night at work buddy :)
You are right, Jack. Only problem is I am not a fan of this current kids sports cycle. Soccer and Track= bore fest 😂. Thank you for the compliments.
Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has had a good week, and made it through to Friday in one piece. That $30 bottle of wine I had last night sure was a disappointment :( It's dull outside here, but the pavements are dry, which makes a change, recently. I need to run some errands today - like going back to the pharmacist, who didn't pack all my prescription 🤨 I'll definitely be calling in at Charlie's, for a coffee or two, on my way though ;)

A few times over the years, I've mentioned an old lady, who lived a few doors away. She had a strong Cockney accent, despite living here 70-odd years, and told me she was born in the Tower of London, as her dad was a Beefeater (the ceremonial guards there). She had a fall about a year ago, and ended up going to stay with her daughter. Family members used to call by, from time to time, to check on the house, and I'd always ask after her. I spotted her daughter and granddaughter, the other night, and they told me she had, sadly, passed away. I shared a few recollections, including the time she had me and the postman blushing with her language! But it seems that being born in the Tower of London was just a fantasy! :D Ah well...:D Opposite her, was Uri, who was born in a Latvian POW camp (I'm pretty sure THAT is true, at least). He grew up in the house, but is now selling it, as will happen with the old lady's house. These houses go for about a £1 Million, so the nature of my street is going to be changing, as it already has over the past 10 years.

Have a great day Guardians :)
Losing friends and acquaintances is pretty rotten, Jack. I'm sure her family appreciated the sentiment. That is a lot of greenbacks for a home. Lovely lamb my friend.
Dang, Jer. toffee wings is starting to come into her own. Love that knife.
Good morning Guardians. Had one heck of a storm pass through yesterday but it's nice out this morning. Going to finish staining some fencing I have and install a garage organizer for lawn tools, etc. Busy busy busy! HHB helping out today.
IMG-4508.jpg
Busy is right. Although I didn't hear about any beer and cigar breaks 😂.

Good mornin Guardians.
Not sure I have seen that one, Jeff. Who is the maker on that one? Shot in the dark.....TEW?
After a couple of coffees in Charlie's, I headed out to one of Leeds posher suburbs, where I did some shopping. The Arabic restaurant where I was intending to have lunch, was closed, so I ended up in some pricey hipster joint, where I ordered the £9 'Hummus Plate'. I was expecting a bit more than hummus on a plate (along with a quartered supermarket tortilla)! No sign of the sun yet, but it's been dry at least, and milder :) Hope everyone is having a good day
Hipster joints.....Get you every time. The only folks that can take something so simple and screw it up 😁
Hope everyone's having a good day. It's been a busy one for me.

Large Bagpipe Lamb today 👍

A fine lamb.
This evening seems to have flown, and I have a busy day tomorrow :) I think some Waboom! might be in order! :D ;) Have a great weekend Guardians :)
If one has Waboom how can one leave it in the drawer? Waboom it up, Jack.
Picked some fresh asparagus for supper.

We have a bunch of wild asparagus up here. I know all the good spots at work. Not sure it tastes better but it sure does feels like it tastes better.
Well... the best laid plans of mice and men...
Dang, Dwight. Sometimes it goes like that. looks like you got it handled in style.
Lovely lamb and sweet photo, Dwight.
