Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Enjoying a late night work cigar. Really is beautiful out tonight.

For the longest time I didn't have a lambsfoot knife, but today Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 fixed that. I was generously gifted by him 2 lambsfoot knives, including one recovered by @glennbad in giraffe bone. So, greetings to the Guardians.

You have a fine duo to start your journey.👍🏻
Paul strikes again with another gesture of kindness.🍻

My daughter did the dance routine also, but made it easy for me and played lacrosse and rugby. Two sports I can actually watch. She actually got knocked out once in college playing rugby! Her badge of courage moment.
That must have been worrying Bob  I played rugby right through secondary school, lot of fun :) I first started in the under-14's team, and we'd go miles out of Sheffield, to play small mining towns. Their prop forwards would have tattoos and coal-dust under their finger-nails! :D
Jack, in my town they are knocking down million dollar homes to build McMansions. It's a sad show, where people have to display their wealth to feel important. Only a few of the grand old estates are left.

Rumson is a young town by your standards, established in 1664.
That's crazy! It looks like a nice place to live though Bob, and that's pretty old :) Leeds was just a small market town then
Have a great weekend!

Looking good :)
Have a fun day Jack !
Thanks Steve, it was an odd day, which kind of lurched from one minor disaster to the next, heavy rain spoiled our walk, the certification for the movie had been displayed wrong, and Cillian was too young to go in, (I did suggest leaving him outside with a bottle of Coke ;)), and Leeds was so busy, we couldn't get a seat in a restaurant. I did wind up in a pub, with some friends though  :D
The one and only! :D
That is what I use also. it isn't bad but I simply do not want or need to upload every photo I may want to post to an image server.

I think there should be a way to auto delete old attachments; the downside of that is that it leave little to find in a search.

A apple a day keeps the Dr away.

I despair at the state of the site :( I had a nice apple in my bag yesterday, and completely forgot about it! 😖
Don’t be fooling around with the cannon if you’ve gotten around a couple three pints, mate.
Good advice Jeff, I think I had about 5 pints in the end :D
People can pretty secretive about where they cut wild asparagus.
I’m lucky that I have the space to have some patches, but a woman I know was bragging about her favorite spots on some country roads up over the state line. But when I asked, she was suddenly nebulous and vague about which roads.
:D

Hope the weather is the same as this nice morning wherever you all are.
Looking good Jeff, hope you had a great day brother :)
Baxter Lambspey today 👍

It's a Steller day here in Minnesota, they're calling for close to 80° 😲

Wow! It's not often we get those temperatures in the summer Steve! :D Looks like a pretty nice day today, but I'm going to be stuck indoors 😩 Historic knife
Putting the boom in WaBooooooooooom! 😁
:D
Getting wind burn around here it's blowing so hard.
I hope everything stays in one piece my friend :) Fabulous Shadow Lamb there  :)

Morning Guardians! Windy spring day on the prairie. Big Eb continues on. I'm enjoying this Lamb so it got to saddle up again. 🤠

I'm sure Big Eb appreciates the extra pocket time David :)
And a Happy Stagurday to all.
You too Dale, and as that fine-looking Lamb is your first pic here...Welcome to the Guardians :)
Never even got the bit in the ground before the derrick broke. The rig is practically new! Built in 1962 and already having issues!!!
Sorry to hear that buddy :(
No worries. If I live I shall live to drill another day...
That's the spirit! :)
I wish you could move Toolman into the neighborhood... 😁
LOL! :D That would be brilliant! :D Of course he'd have to bring his fleet of old army waggons, Landrovers, Jags, caravans, camper vans, and motorbikes! 🤣
I had a firefighter friend. She was 5'4" and about 100lbs. Absolutely vicious on the rugby field. A terror!!!
LOL! :D I remember girls telling tales of horror from the hockey field when I was at school! :D
Gonna give it another shot in a couple of weeks.
Good for you Dwight, I hope it goes better next time :)
You may have got the best of the bunch there my friend :)
Dwight, you just described my daughter.😁
🤣
I survived drilling for oil. I was a roughneck and driller for a number of years as a young man. Stories for another day. 😁
I'm sure you have some great tales David :)

That would solve the hipster problem. Maybe. 🤣
I reckon! 🤣
Everything is covered.. barlow, lambfoot, great scales and classic design.👌
Now, time for some mumbley/ mumblety peg. 😃
🤣
Bonus pic of the day 👍

Great pic Steve :)
Back to the whisky oak, breaking in nicely but could be a bit better.
I'm sure it'll smooth out Mitch :)

Wow, that's very generous :) Welcome to the Guardians :)
Enjoy them in good health, Robert. Welcome to the Guardians my friend.
Well done Paul :)
A slower day at work tonight. Have a few minutes and enjoying this wonderful cigar in 70 degree weather 😃. HHB is on work duty for my shift.

I'm glad you were able to get a break pal :) Cool pic

Looks peaceful Paul :) Now that the Barretts are sleeping! :D ;)

Good morning Guardians, despite the fact nothing seemed to go right yesterday, I enjoyed it anyway :D There are several Sikh temples within a mile of where I live, and yesterday was the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi . I was reminded of this as I was walking down to Charlie's, as I saw a few well-dressed Sikhs, but quickly forgot. Snoozing on my sofa mid-evening, the staccato patter of exploding fireworks quickly reminded me! Boy, do Sikhs like fireworks, and they go on for hours! Unfortunately, all the smoke must have activated my fire-alarm, so I was woken up again later, and had to get out of bed to turn it off! I hope everyone is having a good weekend, and getting a chance to put your feet up. I need to catch up with some housework today, unfortunately, and then catch up with some work. Maybe I'll get some more sofa-time later ;) Got my Pals Lamb in my pocket, thanks friends :) Have a great day Guardians

Good morning Jack
My little primadona would take no prisoners. 😁 It does worry a father a bit, but I learned early you can't put a shell around them.

Rumson is a pleasant place Jack, if you ignore the "hipsters". There is only one pub that is being suffering from gentrification.😒

The shadow lamb is becoming a favorite.

Hope you get some nap time in today.

Morning Bob, I hope you're having a pleasant weekend my friend :) LOL! :D I know the feeling, my youngest two are scrappers. Not always such a bad thing :D

Those darned hipsters get everywhere! It's good to know you're not too badly affected :)

I can see why, it's a beauty :)

Thanks buddy :) Since I last posted, we've had rain, heavy rain, hail, and now bright sunshine straight in my eyes! I've been doing some tidying up, and thought I'd sit down with a cup of tea. Got a couple of sausage rolls in the oven ;)

Paul, good work, man, swelling the Guardians with your gracious gift! Back in college (about a hundred years ago) I also smoked cigars (and pipes, and cigarettes, and well, it was the '70s!) and the Nicaraguans were my favorites. Those and latakia blend pipe tobaccos. I've been quit now for about 40 years.

Well done Paul and congrats on two fine Lambs !

Welcome aboard 👍

Afternoon all,

Oak Lamb is getting some nice character ! 👍

Great Sunday knife, have a good one Jack !

That is so beautiful, Barrett. See what happens when you go Spey hunting! Magic.

Maybe that’s the trick to finding a Lambsfoot at a knife show — you have to be looking for something else! 🤣

Superb find Barrett, congratulations  That's a beautiful knife in excellent condition :) I wonder if it was made for the Australian market, like the one below?

Enjoy the rest of the show, and safe travels :)

Thanks, Jack.

Terrific Rodgers, Barrett, and it looks like some nice horn for the covers. Any idea what that distinctive frame pattern is called?

Your guess is as good as mine, Jeff. It certainly is a distinctive shape. Reminds me a bit of a shillelagh.

Okay. That is serious knife chasing, Barrett.

I’m not sure if some of our non-North Amer. Continent friends know how far it is from your places out to the North Pacific corner of the country. Knowing you guys, I’m going to guess that you took turns at the wheel and drove straight through.

Nah, we let the pilot do all the driving. I did repeatedly ask if I could fly the plane for a bit, but for whatever reason they wouldn’t let me. 😉😁

Very sweet Barrett. Now I know there are at least TWO lambs with a spey secondary! I don't know why but that knife reminds me of a bunny knife.

Thanks, Dwight. Must be a few more out there somewhere. I don’t think those old Sheffield firms were in the business of making one-offs. 😁

My favourite knife storage boxes are Nicaraguan cigar boxes! :D Fine pair Jeff
Always an adventure for you !
Isn't it?! 😖 🤣 I was just getting ready to go out, but, glancing in the mirror, I realised I'd forgotten to shave, so I quickly took care of that. I hurried down to Charlie's, but when I got there, Sara and Anna were looking at me askance, and it turned out I'd cut my ear, which must have started bleeding as I'd walked down the road. I dabbed it with an alcohol wipe, and pressed a paper napkin against it, while I ate my beans on toast, and drank my coffee. Unfortunately, the small nick was reluctant to stop bleeding, so I went up to the nearby pharmacy to try and get a styptic pencil. I didn't get anywhere, so I asked in the nearby shop. Both are run by bearded Muslims, so they didn't know what I was talking about! 😖 Neither did Hisham, or his brother Nabil, went I went back to the cafe, for which I chided them :D I had been intending to have another coffee and a cake, but I figured I better go home, and sort my ear out, as I didn't want blood on my clothes. On the way up the road, I called in a larger pharmacy, but the Saturday girl wasn't interested. Rather than walk all the way back home, I thought I'd catch the bus into town, where I'd arranged to meet Matt. Annoyingly, 2 of the 3 branches of the main commercial pharmacy have closed, and a lad in another I called in, was totally clueless. Fortunately, my ear had stopped bleeding by this point anyway!
Great Sunday knife, have a good one Jack !
Thanks a lot buddy, you too :)
Good morning Guardians !

Carrying this wee Sheffield Lamb today 👍

That's a sweet wee thing Steve

Your guess is as good as mine, Jeff. It certainly is a distinctive shape. Reminds me a bit of a shillelagh.
Isn't that Pistol Grip frame known as a Saddle-horn in the US? 🤷‍♂️ It's actually one of the oldest spring Knife frames, since the shape will cover the point, as wear between the spring and tang eventually cause the point of the blade to rise in the frame. This older Abram Brooksbank, which started off as a Lambsfoot, has a similar frame

Nah, we let the pilot do all the driving. I did repeatedly ask if I could fly the plane for a bit, but for whatever reason they wouldn’t let me. 😉😁
Was alcohol involved?! 🤣;)

It's an adventure every time you leave the house 😂

I had to order a styptic pencil from amazon since I couldn't find one at any of the pharmacies around here.

That's a sweet wee thing Steve

Thanks Jack !
