Frustratingly, a lot of Sheffield knives were made without any marking at all, and their quality can be very good. Just one of the anomalies of the Sheffield cutlery industry. Fakes of various kinds go back to the earliest days of production, but it's a complicated issue - Iron knives marked steel, Sheffield knives pretending to be London, German-made razors re-stamped Sheffield. Joseph Rodgers was probably the firm most sinned against, within Sheffield, and all over the British Empire. As Lambsfoot collectors, it's unlikely to be a big issue, since their value is relatively small. Here's an odd one that was discussed here, a few years ago, when this knife popped up for sale, at no great cost. A very odd knife. I have no idea why anyone would go to the trouble of taking a Joseph Rodgers Lambsfoot, and re-stamping it as a Winchester!
