Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is well, and that you've had a good week There's still no sign of summer here, but at least it's not raining right now Two years of rain, and the third missing summer in a row, kind of makes me wish I lived somewhere else No plans for today, other than cracking on with a bit of work, I can always find some Maybe, I'll have a walk down to Charlie's later, though with Sara away on vacation, the conversation is a little limited. I saw on the news last night that at least one house in East Lansing had its foundation burst by flood waters.
The catastrophist in me wonders how long anybody will be able to afford insurance on anything.

If someone were to casually say to me, "Why is summer your least-favorite season in Sacramento?" I'd have to reply, "What? You'll have to speak up, I can't hear you over the sound of my head melting in 111° F."

Fortunately, it's only supposed to get up to 98 tomorrow.

Good afternoon Guardians, I haven't been back from the market long. It hasn't rained yet today, but it's been cool, and very overcast. I had my tweed cap and Barbour jacket on, like I might in winter There wasn't a huge amount of traffic behind the Tool Stall, but most of the regulars stayed for a few hours, and we were joined by the impeccably dressed Billy The Ted, who it's always a pleasure to see.



I bought Tool Man his favourite slab of cake, which didn't take him long to take care of, and Gravel went for another slab later, of which Tool Man made equally short work.



Tool Man had eaten his 2 sandwiches before I arrived, so I'm not sure what he had, but he decided to have an additional 'Double Bacon' sandwich, and seemed to think the bag it came in might make a hat



Just as Tool Man was taking a bite out of the last piece of cake, Gravel arrived with several portions of onion and mushroom bhajis, with numerous servings of raita sauce. Tool Man temporarily abandoned his cake to ensure he shoved 90% of said bhajis into his gaping maw!





While greedily grazing the fare, the rhythmic journey of Tool Man dunking bhajis in raita, and depositing them between his jaws, was only interrupted by his moaning about why Martin hadn't purchased more raita, hadn't gone to a different vendor, hadn't bought a different combination of bhajis, etc!



Nobody else is getting near those bhajis! That's Big Dave parked-up on Ray's drum stool

This is one of Ray's regulars, who is quite a funny little character. He's actually a Romany Traveller, but not only dresses differently to all the other Travellers we know, but since he doesn't drive, hasn't actually travelled very far

As always, thanks for the Thursday market update, Jack! It’s funny, the other day you mentioned that, due to the cool weather, at least you wouldn’t have to see Tool Man wearing what you call a vest, and because of the cool weather, he ended up wearing what we call a vest.

The Teds are off to the English seaside town of Skegness at the weekend, for one of their annual booze-ups, so I hope they get some sunshine, and nobody gets arrested

Thanks for sending me down a rabbit hole last night reading about that advert. I particularly liked the part where PETA complained about the fisherman mascot because it “evokes imagery of cruelty to animals,” but their proposed solution was to replace him with a fish frolicking on the beach (you know, out of the water…).

I'll have to have a look at this migration thing, technical changes usually end in disaster here

Oh yes....our last bad hurricane had water levels at roof line on many shore homes. My brother is on second home. His is raised 10 feet.

My brother and I drove down to Galveston once to pick up an RV for my dad, and it was interesting to see all the houses on stilts.

Tonight I think we’re going to the fireworks show we were supposed to go to on the 4th, which was canceled and rescheduled due to the weather. I’ll have my Katalox Albers with me (old pic here, I’ll try to get a new one later).

When Eric had those on the exchange his photos in no way showed how fantastic that stag was. I thought they looked very mediocre in the pics. That shows how important good photos are. Every single one of those lambs has had STUNNING stag covers!!!

It's a long time since I've been to Skeggy Barrett, and I ended up doing the same! Doesn't sound like it's changed much Classic PETA! I'm surprised they didn't just want the fisherman to strip-off!

I felt exactly the same way when I saw those first couple go up. If it wasn't an Albers and knowing what kind of work Eric does, I would not have "gambled" on trying to get one. It took me a couple minutes to realize it was actually Eric posting them, then it was an easy choice.

Same here. They were calling for rain here next Wednesday, now it's pushed back to next Thursday or more likely Friday with temps continually rising until it gets here. It's going to be a hot week!

I did see on the extended where they thought it would cool off a bit next Friday for the weekend. So maybe that's the Thursday rain for us. We need some in a bad way. My pastures are getting crunchy
