Three years ago, while visiting a local town, I spotted a sign for a 'Deep-Fried Chip Butty'! I was quite aghast at the idea, but some research revealed them to be a recent trend, emanating from a particular part of Leeds. I did think about returning to get one for Yorkshire Day that year, but unfortunately I went down with a bad bout of sciatica. I still haven't seen one for sale in central Leeds, or anywhere else I visit, but this greedy sod, who I reckon would give Tool Man a run for his money, seems impressed. Funny that the battered chip butty comes accompanied with chips! Maybe I'll try one at some point, but it wouldn't be something I'd undertake casually
Actually looks quite tasty. I had to listen very closely to catch anything the fellow was saying
Deep fried Chip Butty looked great, the cream egg not so much
Thanks for the clarification mate! I notice we swiftly heading towards 100,000 posts, and 5000 pages, so I'll be doing another giveaway soon
Yes mate, a human trait of overcomplicating something simple.I do feel like essence of the chip butty got a bit lost there with the addition of the peas, gravy, etc.
The deep-fried <everything> reminds me of food at the California State Fair (which is happening right now, but I haven't made it over there this year). I've had deep-fried sliders and Twinkies and Kit-Kats and I-don't-even-remember-what-else. Good times.Three years ago, while visiting a local town, I spotted a sign for a 'Deep-Fried Chip Butty'! Or a free funeral.10 deep-fried chip butties gets you a free angioplasty!
A fine pic Steve
Interesting about the port MitchThanks gents, it was tasty, family was happy. I like to use port rather than red wine adds a bit more flavour.
I need a Chip Butty.
It's a very unusual accent Kurt, as is some of his vocabulary. I wonder if it is somewhat affected, the vocabulary is certainly made up? I'll have to ask Our Cake Man at the market. He knows him, says he's making a small fortune out of YT these daysI would eat both of those deep fried delicacies. As a trained by television chef I give them a “6”. I thought he was eating a real egg for dessert for a bit. Although I watched all of Downton Abbey and recognized the language that sod fellow had an unusual English accent I found unintelligible. I should have turned on the Closed Captioning. That video gave me a good laugh. Thanks Jack.
Very nice JerAnd here it is opened!
Another beautiful photo Dwight
Fantastic That's some interesting patina Bob

Challenge accepted!
Nice-looking aloe vera plant Mitch, and your Lambsfoot is looking 'brand new', as they say in Scotland!
Looking good David
LOL! I noticed we were headed that way a few months back, bought some Lambs as giveaway prizes, forgot about them, re-discovered them, gave them away, remembered why I had bought them, then found that they were no longer available from the previous source! It’s the most Yorkshireful time of the year!
I’ve been wondering recently if this year’s Yorkshire Day festivities might coincide with the thread hitting 5,000 pages / 100k posts, but I’m not sure if we’ll make it there by August 1st.
I’m definitely looking forward to my Yorkshire Day chip butty!
Same here mate, if I do try one, it'll just be a deep fried chip butty Mint sauce?! Where does that bloke think he is, London?!I’m not so sure about the deep-fried chip butty… but I’d still probably try one. I do feel like essence of the chip butty got a bit lost there with the addition of the peas, gravy, etc.
I suspect both me and Tool Man would tire of him quickly! Though, perhaps that is just his YT persona! Can you imagine inviting that guy and Tool Man over for a BBQ? They’d eat you out of house and home! He does seem friendly enough, though. I enjoyed the video.
You're practically a local mate! I avoid most of South Leeds like the plague, Miggy in particular!Surprisingly I didn’t have much difficulty understanding him. Of course, I did spend one whole day in Yorkshire about 5 years ago, so I’m basically a local…
I'm not tempted! Those Cadbury Creme Eggs are messy enough when they’re not deep fried!
It was posted by Dave, the feller who lived in the middle of nowhere, near AlbertaHow do I not remember this at all?!
Incredible milestone!I knew I couldn’t be the only one who noticed that was coming up quick.
Eric's Lambs are a nice size Cool pic BarrettLambsfoot content. I’ve been splitting pocket time pretty evenly between my Afzelia Burl Albers and Curly Katalox Albers, while also making sure some of my other Lambs (especially HHBs and other Guardians SFOs) got some time, too. Today was a burl day.
(Don’t worry, I’ll make sure I’m carrying a Sheffield-made Lambsfoot for Yorkshire Day.)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend. According to the weather forecasters, we have a week of summery weather ahead, which is handy, as I am off to the coast tomorrow, and since Tool Man is going to Whitby this week, I may go to York for Yorkshire Day. I'll see how my feet hold up! Got my Albers in my pocket, and a song in my heart! Have a good one Guardians

Thank you buddy, interesting about the patinaEric's lambs are always a treat to see Jack.
The patina came from contact with a country style mustard.
Enjoy your travels.

Awesome Albers
I'd forgotten how hard it is, out of the hundreds that are there, to find a decent chip butty video on YT. Most of them are posted by idiots, who've never tried one, but still think they can improve on the classic recipe It should go without saying that there's a reason this sandwich is beloved, and that if you put in no effort, or improvise, you'll mess it up. Nothing wrong, if you like ketchup, or whatever, on your chip butty, but you'll largely be tasting ketchup, so please give it a try without first. This guy faffs around a bit, but he understands the basic concept. Use tasty white bread, or a bread roll/cake/cob/balm/stottie, freshly cooked (hot) chips, and salt. Feel free to skip the vinegar, and while the butter is important, you don't need to go absolutely crazy
Nice horn
Very handsome Steve
Thanks mateAwesome Albers
