Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

:D:D:D CONTROVERSY

Looks like a Brexit Style re-run of the referendum:cool: Or is it Uncle Joe Stalin's "It's not how many votes but who counts them" ;)

I decided to pair the 2017 Guardians Lambsfoot with my Knife of the Year

As I said a few pages back, I'll be going over to Sheffield tomorrow (one of the reasons I'm rushing around) to pick up a sample for the 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot, but that isn't the reason for my trip, nor will I be going to the factory alone. I'll be joined by another Guardian - Barrett @btb01 - who is flying into England for Christmas, and heading up to Sheffield to spend a day with me :) I think Barrett will already be on his way, so I'm wishing him and his family safe travels, and I'm very much looking forward to meeting him :)

Had beef Wellington for the first time last night (Dad's birthday- he'd have been 99).

Effete Aestheticism Report:
There were some timing issues at the restaurant, so the Bell's Amber I'd have had with it came after it. It didn't take me long to eat it, I must admit. Anyway, I think the slight bitterness of the ale was a nice complement to the richness of the Wellington.
The pastry wasn't as puffed as this, but it was still delicious. I ordered mine less blood-splattering than this, and the chef was a sport about it.

Were you with family Jer? I don't think I'd want rare beef in a Wellington either. Glad you enjoyed the food my friend, even though your dad couldn't be there :(

Very nice surprise to wake up to this morning:) Thank you Jack for picking my name out of the hat for the win. I must also thank Dave @dc50 for being gracious enough not to get Jack to re draw;) Also commiserations to the other members who were in the draw as well. Rarely do I win competitions or bet except a flutter here and there, more money for knives.....lol. Pretty excited right about now:thumbsup::thumbsup::) Certainly the camaraderie here on the Guardians page, although I was late joining. Jack my friend, Thank you once again.

I think you were among the first here to take an interest in the Lambsfoot Kevin, and more importantly to put it to use :) Thank you for all your great pics, observations, and comments over the years my friend. It's great to see those two, and as usual, your photos are excellent :)

9D04B1DE-13B5-439A-A478-E98DF596589D.jpeg Well, you were right, Jack: most of us were asleep when you started posting!

Congratulations again to you, and to Rusty1 Rusty1 for the win. Dave is a classy guy.

I follow a lot of threads in the traditional forum, but this is my favourite (using British spellings here!), and the only thread I've gone back to read from the beginning. The lambsfoot is a fascinating pattern, and a versatile knife. I've carried my Ashley's Choice most days since I received it, and love it (though I might be persuaded to trade it for your recent ivory-handled acquisition ;) ). Looking forward to my time here in the coming year.

Have a great day, fellow Guardians!

P.S. By the way, Jack, I've composed a haiku on the lambsfoot in the haiku thread. I think it's on the first page.

Congrats Russell! Again congrats Jack! My 2018 guardian will be with me all day. Pics inbound!

I was HALF-asleep myself Vince!  ;) :D

That's nice to hear, and thanks for the translation my friend :) I have been mightily impressed by your commitment to the Lambsfoot pattern, and always enjoy your posts and great pics :) I'll check out your haiku Vince, and please feel free to cross-post it here if you want

Congratulations Rusty1 Rusty1 , and thank you Jack for a fun giveaway!

Thanks Joshua, I'm sure it won't be the last giveaway I do here ;)
