Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good afternoon Guardians !

We have goats on our property helping eradicate Buckthorn and other undesirable plants and weeds which have taken over our property. They are voracious animals and seem to enjoy their jobs. They even climb trees .

Super grand GL-24 as is everyone else's! I had suggested to my wife about five years ago that we should buy come goats and rent them out for this exact type of thing (poison ivy in particular). Glad to see I'm only half crazy!

We took that tree down last year - during the previous winter's storms, we were concerned about that tree coming down (it was old and unhealthy). Since it was right over our bedroom, during the highest wind period, we ended up sleeping on a mattress in my office. A woman in Midtown Sacramento died that year when a tree feel through her roof and killed her in her bed. For a little better scale, here's the full stump (the GL-24 is approximately the same place as in my original pic above). It's a Chinese Tallow, and continues to run up little suckers all over the lawn that we have to keep poisoning. We are assured that after 18 months of that, it will really be dead, then we can take the stump out. (And then we'll plant an Autumn Gold Ginko in that spot.)

And here's a closeup of my double lamb day carry. Stainless and Stainmore. I love both of these knives.

Another nice GL-24 and the noble HHB! We have a fair bit of those tallow trees around here -- they're invasive. Not a big fan of them. My youngest learned them by their "slang" name: popcorn trees.

Thanks Jack. Enjoy you leisurely day. No crak for me...just lolligaging. Trying g to make it a national pasttime.😁
LOL! :D I hope you had a great day of it Bob :)
It's going to be hot enough to kill people today.
I trust that will turn out to be melodramatic hyperbole, but it's going to be hot.
I hope your SpaceLamb is fitted with heat shields Jer
Thanks Jack
Mate you need to spend a couple extra $ and buy bottles with no holes, otherwise the liquid keeps drainag away 🥹🤣🤣

Have a great day and enjoy the movie.
Thanks Mitch, I'm afraid I wimped out of the movie, I think I might have snored through it! It didn't work out so bad as there was another friend wanting to go, and Matt had forgotten to book them a ticket
Thanks Jack, the weather is much cooler today after a major storm came through last night.

We had some damage here to our trees but not the buildings. Power out in the neighborhood but ours stayed on. Sad to see this maple tree below my deck so damaged. Our tree company was here this morning to remove the downed limbs and doesn't think that it will be able to be saved.

I'm very sorry to hear about your tree buddy, but glad there was no further damage, or worse  Must have been pretty hairy
Have a great day everyone !

Glad you had a good time at the carnival Jack. GL-24 looking good 🐑👍🤠
Thank you David, I have a back=log of pics to show off :D
Morning Guardians! Hope y'all have a good day.

Nice set-up there, I'll have to drag mine out for some pics. It's been a while since they've been used sadly :(
Natural talent and years of practice! 😁
I forgot I wasn't the man I used to be! :D
We had tornado sirens start going off last night right as I was about to start dinner, so the girls and I headed to the basement (Julie was on her way home from work). Then the power went out. 🙄 Thankfully the storm didn’t last long, but we didn’t get power back until 1 am, so it was PB&J sandwiches for dinner.
Glad you're all OK mate
That's some lovely jigging Dwight :)
Thanks Jack! 😁 Good to hear the festivities went well.
Thanks Pat :)
Good afternoon Guardians. Really enjoy seeing the new GL-24's (with a bit of envy to be honest lol!). Really fine work Eric, Barrett, and Jack!

Thanks Michael, it's good to see you here (don't forget Lambsfoot knives only please). Barrett and Eric deserve the credit for our new Guardians knife :)

Good morning Guardians. Tough for me to get going today for some unknown reason. Gorgeous morning here in NC - sunny and 65 degrees F. Guess I'll have some hot tea to start off and then maybe I'll go for my daily stroll. HHB again in the pocket:).
IMG-4562.jpg
Stag HHB as handsome as ever, Bill! I like the texture on your slip, too.

Lavish lamb, Dwight!

...

Gas man lamb again today. I sharpened it up yesterday, I noticed pretty quick that the grind was terribly uneven. It's not the prettiest edge now but it will eventually even out and it cuts like a laser beam!

Patrick, I've heard that a chain is only as strong as its weakest lamb, so your chain is powerful!

...

I hope everyone's day is going well :) It is 2.30pm, and I am just getting time to scarf a cheeseburger. Mrs Singh's son, Minda, didn't let me know it was her birthday until last night, so I have been having to make a few extra trips, and scrub myself up for her garden party tonight  I'm over the moon with my GL-24, and looking forward to having a good, uninterrupted CE and CF session with it :) Thank you to Barrett, Bob, Steve, Mitch, David, Dwight, Paul, Todd, Pete, Duncan, Jeremy, Charlie, Neal and Dylan for their exceptional generosity :)

Congrats on the arrival of your superb GL-24, Jack!

Thanks buddy! I have only been on a short stretch of the AT when hiking to the Virginia high point. Sure did enjoy it 👍🤠
I forgot that I actually got lost out there. Ended up in some heavy cover and my GPS couldn't receive a signal. I had a compass and map so wasn't to concerned. I back tracked my self for a ways and lost the trail. Looking around I decided the only way out was to go straight up through the heavy brush and rocks. The trail had to be up there somewhere. It took a while but finally made it to the top and there was the trail. I sure was relieved to find the trail again. The rest of the hike was uneventful.🤣
Yikes! That sounds less than ideal, David. I once got lost on an early morning solo exploration of Valencia, Spain, but how lost can you be in a city? I started walking around squares of increasing size and eventually saw a landmark I recognized.

Just about to make a cuppa. :) . Jack Black Jack Black glad your parcel arrived, everyone appreciates the behind the scenes work gone into this project. 🥰🥰🥰.

Champion Lambsfoot, Leon!

Posted this in a wrong thread 😑
Those rosewood HHBs are such pleasant knives, and yours looks like a workhorse, Taylor!

Got a Space 🐑 in the other day. Sure is a unique knife.

Congrats on nabbing one of those desirable models, David!

That knife exudes elegance, Bob! That Guardians slip Dylan made is A-1.

I was referencing The Postman Always Rings Twice and trying to link a picture of Jessica Lange. She frustrated me. (That never happens.)

But I'll bet this is how Jessica Lange deals with her woodchucks.
You could be right, Jer, but I wonder whether Jessica Lange calls her pests woodchucks or groundhogs or whistle pigs or land beavers or maybe even marmots.

Just wanted to drop in and congratulate all of the Guardians on the double milestone.
I still carry Jake 99% of the time.
...
FBC, it's GREAT to see Jake again after so long; he's like cash on the barrelhead!

Hope all is well. Been catching up and saw the giveaway. As a newish lamb owner hope its ok if i join. Been taking care of dad and my two storerooms so not been around much. Things are looking up though. Got dads cataracts fixed so hopefully he will be able to get around a little better. Hes lost without mom.

Anyway, long long time lurker and finally bought my first of many lambs this past year. A stag from off the auction site. Was a little rough and dull as could be but i was planning on putting it to work anyway so i didnt mind. 😁. Now i have a small flock going and will add as time allows to search for interesting pieces. Love this thread and the members that keep it going. Heck loved it before i was accepted into the group. One of the best forum threads on the entire internet. Thank you all!

Very cool to see those goats, Steve!
3 years ago, a college whose campus I often visit on my walks had a herd of goats working for a week on cleaning out some undesirable vegetation. I visited 2 or 3 times during that week. Here's a couple of relevant photos.

Nice photo!

(Apparently I tried quoting too many posts and went over a 10,000 character per post limit. Standby for more.)
Glad to read that I'm not the only one to whom that happens, Barrett!

Excellent bonus pics, Steve! We have very few red fire hydrants where I live.

Apologies Jack, that's what I get for rarely posting. Forgot Lamb+ was also not allowed. I removed it a bit ago when Steve reminded me.
Thank you Michael, I was actually mid-post when Steve posted :) You'd be very welcome to use the edited version of your pic if it's acceptable?

Thank you for your consideration. (huh ... I'da swore there was a bowing emoji. 🤨)

I received this most beautiful SFO 2017 2019 Guardians Lamb from the most generous Sir draggat draggat , in this morning's mail call. 🤯😳😁👍
After lubing the joint and stropping, it went into my pocket.

Kinda hard to be a mailman from home (or a customs agent, for that matter), but I’m sure that hasn’t stopped some from trying. 🤣

That’s a good looking snakewood Albers Lambsfoot, Bob.

Natural talent and years of practice! 😁

Sorry to hear about the trees, Steve, but I’m glad no other damage was done.

Glad everyone is okay 👍
