I planted one on the hillside this summer and we had some extreme heatwaves. Had to put an umbrella up to give it some shade.Nah clay is too heavy and the winters too cold. It is possible, just very hard to get them going.
I’ve never seen one of theseMike, I had completely forgotten that you had that awesome stag version of a pre-Taylor/Schrade Landshark. Thanks for reposting it here!
Here's another pic of my LambShark, posed on the "trunk" of a wisteria vine that's trying to eat my house, as well as any oak trees foolish enough to let the wisteria extend a tendril onto an oak branch. (Something about the knife looks distorted to me - maybe the blade and the handle are displayed using different "scale factors"? - and I don't know how it happened. I have a couple of other outdoor LambShark photos that look odd to me.)

This GAW is fun! I love the baseball pic, I always have to sneak my knives into the ballgame. I did get caught with a knife one time so I had to take it outside and hide it in the bushes…one of the drivers was parked sitting in his car and saw me hide it. I didn’t think he would take it, but when I left the game it was gone. I’m guessing it was his first GEC…
Picked up a new IPA for this entry. So far I’m really enjoying it.

As long as the rosellas don’t get them again I think it’ll be a good almond harvest.

— Giveaway UPDATE —
I’ve really enjoyed the entries in the GAW so far, y’all have done a great job with your condiment-and-Lambsfoot posts. As promised, I’d like to offer everyone a chance for a second entry.
While the giveaway theme was open to any kind of condiment, many of you, perhaps unsurprisingly, opted to share some kind of hot sauce. And when you’re eating spicy food, you pretty much have to have a beverage to go with it, right? So for a second entry, let’s see a beverage and Lambsfoot pic. It can be alcoholic, non-alcoholic, maybe you need a tall glass of milk if you’ve been using some of that really hot hot sauce… whatever you like, as long as it’s a beverage.
Here are a couple I’ve posted here before, just to get things started.

And just to clarify, no, Henderson’s Relish does not count as a beverage.![]()
Bob . . . gorgeous! Steve . . . one of the best! Roper is doing his best to keep up!

Thanks kindly Steve. I tend to favor wood over bone. You sure have some wonderful wood covered Lambs !
I live in Northern California, some of the most productive agricultural land on the planet, and I don't know anybody who is successful at casually growing avocados. People who get bushels from their dwarf orange or apple trees - people whose trees and gardens are tremendously bountiful - are excited when they get three avocados in the same year.Nah clay is too heavy and the winters too cold. It is possible, just very hard to get them going.
Morning buddy. Nice
Always like to see that one
Enjoyable picI live in Northern California, some of the most productive agricultural land on the planet, and I don't know anybody who is successful at casually growing avocados. There are some complex rules that I've had murkily explained to me differently by different people about how you have to have at least three trees, including both male and female trees, plus at least two different varietals. (And you probably have to do a special dance during the Wolf Moon and then bury a pig at the solstice...)
To keep us on-topic for the Guardians (pretty much every subject is on-topic here, as long as it's family-friendly and you add a picture of a lambsfoot), I re-did my shot from yesterday. And this time, the GL-24 didn't end up in the drink before OR after taking the pic! I just high-fived myself.

I instantly thought “dryland fish” as well haha. Great minds (or hungry minds) think alike.I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at the time you posted this, but it just hit me. That jigging makes me want to just take a bite out of it! Yours is the real deal.
