Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

btb01 btb01 I rarely drink anything special, but my libation of choice would be this:

Nothing wrong with some root beer! There was a whole discussion about it here a week or two back. 😁

This GAW is fun! I love the baseball pic, I always have to sneak my knives into the ballgame. I did get caught with a knife one time so I had to take it outside and hide it in the bushes…one of the drivers was parked sitting in his car and saw me hide it. I didn’t think he would take it, but when I left the game it was gone. I’m guessing it was his first GECā€¦šŸ˜‚

Picked up a new IPA for this entry. So far I’m really enjoying it.

Thanks! Surprisingly, knives with blades under 3 inches are allowed at Target Field. That said, I did get pulled aside once and asked to empty my pockets, and when I pulled my stag HHB out the lady said, ā€œOpe, you can’t have that.ā€ I had to kindly remind her of the policy clearly stated on their website. šŸ™„

Busch Stadium in St. Louis has a similar policy (I think their rule is under 4ā€ closed).

I live in Northern California, some of the most productive agricultural land on the planet, and I don't know anybody who is successful at casually growing avocados. People who get bushels from their dwarf orange or apple trees - people whose trees and gardens are tremendously bountiful - are excited when they get three avocados in the same year.

There are some complex rules that I've had murkily explained to me differently by different people about how you have to have at least three trees, including both male and female trees, plus at least two different varietals. (And you probably have to do a special dance during the Wolf Moon and then bury a pig at the solstice...)

To keep us on-topic for the Guardians (pretty much every subject is on-topic here, as long as it's family-friendly and you add a picture of a lambsfoot), I re-did my shot from yesterday. And this time, the GL-24 didn't end up in the drink before OR after taking the pic! I just high-fived myself.

So, a little mumbo jumbo and pagan ritual to grow a tree? Hey, this is California so I get it! 🤣. Glad your GL-24 didn't go for a swim today!

I shouldn't be shocked that you can bring your lamb foot to a baseball game. We are going to see our local minor league team today and absolutely no knives allowed there. Not trying to sneak anything in or leave it in the bushes. 🄺

A bit late to the party, but I remember seeing some talk about Shaun of the Dead recently. My wife used to be an avid toy collector.....

Morning buddy. Nice šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ¤

Always like to see that one šŸ‘šŸ¤

Enjoyable pic šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ¤

Thanks buddy !

Nice stag !

Morning Guardians! Hope y'all are having a good day. Another hot one here. Have some clouds rolling through so it's bearable at the moment.

Very cool. Here in CA they make us walk through metal detectors šŸ˜‚. I usually get away with it at our local minor league stadium because I know one of the security guards, but not at the big stadiums. IMG_9143.jpeg

Yeah, definitely not worth trying if they’re not allowed. Sometimes I’ll still leave it in the car, just to avoid the hassle.

Those are great! 😁 A few weeks back there was a special screening for the 20th anniversary of the film. The remastered Dolby Atmos sound was surprisingly impressive! (Ironically, the UK anniversary screening isn’t for another week or so.)

They use the fancy new metal detectors here, the kind with a camera where someone watches a video monitor that highlights/flags specific areas, so they know to ask you to empty your left front pocket or whatever. I’ve actually walked through with some knives, no problem, but I guess the HHB with its hefty holsters was enough to get me pulled aside. 😁

Well I haven't been around much lately; I'm gettin' old and crotchety and hard to get along with. But, heck, I just can't resist getting a chance to win a fine Guardians Lambfoot. Many thanks to Barrett for his effort on the GL knives; great job!

When I think of condiments, what beats ketchup?IMG_4571.JPG

Avocado trees have a type A and a type B. I can’t remember which is which but one type has female flowers in the morning and male in the afternoon while the other type is opposite. If you only have one type you tend to have poor fruit set. There are a small number of varieties that are a bit better at self pollination but not brilliant.
I will probably try again but they’re $100 a pop and so far it’s been an expensive failure!

I did just order a few more trees recently. Another jujube variety to improve fruit set on my current one, a replacement loquat for the one our old pet sheep ate and a wampee. My eldest son was scrolling through the catalogue from a shop I use and came across wampee and reallly wanted one. I read up on them and they sound interesting - an Asian relative of citrus that tastes somewhat like a grape. Why not I thought!

You always make me nervous with your GL photos but I do like them šŸ™‚

I wish we had common sense rules like that, by the book a pen knife or leatherman could have you arrested here if you don’t have a legitimate reason to carry. Generally not an issue in the country but I wouldn’t be game in the city. U18s can’t buy plastic cutlery knives from the supermarket either - go figure.

How long do ball games typically last?

Jack, games last about 2 1/2 hours now. They have instituted a time clock for pitchers to speed up game.

Beers range from $3 - $15
