Yes, I think so. They're always digging the roads up here, and the last time it was this bad, it was because they'd damaged a cable. I'm going to buy a couple of SIM cards for different providers, and see if I can get round it by tethering, for nowThat would be frustrating, are your neighbors having issues as well ?
Thanks buddyThanks Jack and great choice for tomorrow![]()
It's very attractiveThat's a beauty Jack. It would make some nice covers for a penknife.
Thanks Bob, sorry to hear you're still having problems yourselfMay tomorrow bring some normalcy to your life Jack.
I've had to contact our Federal Communication Commission to get our cable company to correct our problems
Fine choice for tomorrow.![]()
Sounds interesting LeonThere was a post dropped on YouTube this morning that is well worth a look. It is called Sharpening A Knife Under a Microscope, by Outdoors55. Only a short video, but an eye opener.
Strangely, the cold hasn't really kicked in, I just feel a bit 'sniffley', and my cough is worse than usualThanks mate.
Sounds like a "hot toddy" (or two) is in order...![]()
Incredible x TWO!![]()
Thanks mate
Hope you have a great weekend Jeremy, cheers buddyWork week is over and done at the leather workbench for the night, time to relax.

Cool pic Dwight
That's interesting about the difference in the horn Greg, the 'Super Duper' horn was supposed to be of higher quality, and had certainly been seasoned for longer. Thank you for the refresher on your old postsI have indeed. It tends to shrink a bit over the winter when the air gets drier. I haven't noticed this on my Guardian's edition one, though, so maybe that horn is of higher quality?
Here are a couple of old posts about the issues I've seen with mine:
Well, folks, count me in to the horn shrinkage club. Last week I realized that the pins on the pile side of my Buffalo A. Wright were feeling a bit proud of the horn and, upon closer inspection, that the heel end had shrunk just enough that the brass liners are barely visible around it. The mark side is still fine, though. To be honest, I'm not sure whether I would have given it much thought had it not been for reading about the more significant shrinkage issues that others have encountered.
This knife is going into its second autumn in my possession. I vaguely remember noticing some...Well, folks, count me in to the horn shrinkage club. Sounds like a busy day Mitch
I used to go in a bar like that, depending who was behind the bar, I'd either get a coffee, or just go for a pint!

Here it's often because they said, "Nah, the water mains are fine", when they resurfaced a road, then they get to dig up the road twice.Yes, I think so. They're always digging the roads up here, and the last time it was this bad, it was because they'd damaged a cable.

Yeah, same here mate, and all the different water, gas, electricity, phone, internet companies are private, dig up the road all the time, don't resurface it, and then another one comes along, the following week, and digs it up again! Here it's often because they said, "Nah, the water mains are fine", when they resurfaced a road, then they get to dig up the road twice.

I was going to quote Barry Maguire, but it isn't quite apt.
Thanks mate

I was talking to bus-driver Otley Mick yesterday, and he was telling me that the government has made Millions available to pay to private bus companies who create new routes. Rather than create new routes, they've realised, (predictably), that they can just renumber the old routes. So, soon, every route in Leeds will be renumbered, and that will happen around the country! What a great plan!![]()
Thank you. It's rosewood, but that's old Stumpy, my drastic serial modification. You don't see the EO notch in that pic.Rosebeast looking good !

They look like guys doing 'Community Payback' here!I swear, the majority of the utility company road-crew grunts down here appear completely out of their element - they tend to have the disoriented look of folks whose most technical accomplishment, prior to arriving in Miami, was thatching straw huts on the outskirts of the Amazon rainforest - probably only a few weeks back for many.
I'm not at all surprised when I hear that yet another fiber-optic cable has been severed. What did they think was going to happen when they told a man that had never seen an airplane until 2 weeks ago that it is now his job to operate a backhoe? Storms cause less outages than unskilled workers 'round these parts...
Hey, what's wrong with a little redundancy built into the system??!That picture of Tool Man next to the Rover reminds me what my older brother used to say, "Never trust a man who wears a belt and suspenders!"
