Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Although no Guardians have been clamoring for this information, I'll still tell you that the week of Nov. 24-30 was a busy one for my wife and me (and for Gandalf, our dog). Our daughter and son-in-law (and their dog, Cash) stayed with us that entire week. They've decided that they'll celebrate Christmas with us at Thanksgiving each year going forward, and celebrate Christmas with Isaac's extended family in Minnesota at Christmas time. That seems fine to me, since 9 hours of car travel each way to get from MN to our house, or vice versa, can be dicey in late December. Unfortunately, even late November weather can turn quite wintry, and this year we had 11+ inches of snow the day before they left to return to MN, but their trip home was uneventful, with little snow once they left Michigan.

The lambsfoot I carried during that "holiday week" was Lam Jack, my 2017 horn Guardians lambsfoot (thanks, @mrknife ):

Since THIS week is almost over, I should note that my Lambsfoot of the Week for this week has been Valley Jack, my 2019 desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot:

Two lovely Lambs Gary !

Beautiful Butler my friend :)

A work out art Steve

Thanks Jack 👍
Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone well, and still in a festive mood. Personally, I always find it drags a bit, and am glad when we get into the new year. My replacement coffee machine sould be arriving today, so I hope this one works better than the last one  I think I'm going to just potter about today, but I have a work meeting at 6pm. I think this is probably my favourite of the 3 Guardians Lambs I think made up. While it should have been the simplest, it was actually the biggest pain in the backside to get made up  I wonder where they all are now. Have a good day Guardians

Nice Ebony Lamb Jack 😍 I like the bolster detail and if I remember correctly that is what they had trouble with.

Bob, I can often recognize which knife belongs to whom in the photos in this thread, but I really can't identify many individual Guardians by sight.
Is this a photo of the Executive Council of the Guardians of the Lambsfoot, perhaps frequent posters who posted just before you posted the photo? Left to Right, I'm guessing that's David, Mitch, Jack (Captain of the Guardians), and Steve. ;)

Mine's right here.

I

Today is my quasi day off work, but this Sunday really is a day to myself, because the church I volunteer at is meeting at another church. ("They" must be working on consolidating small congregations.)

So, dishes and laundry, exercise and shopping, and maybe a small road trip or a larger outdoor project. Highs in the 40s,and we're already there.
I always enjoying seeing it Jer :) Have a good day brother
Thanks Jack 👍

Thank you my friend :) Well, there was that! :D But the real hassle was the ebony  Wright's had some good ebony at that time, so I though ebony would be a good choice, but when I checked in, and saw the first knives they had made, the ebony wasn't the "Jet Black" product I'd been promised. Several more visits to the factory, numerous phonecalls, and even a couple of stiff letters followed! 🤨 They got it right in the end, but it was a lot more effort than I'd expected  And then there was the horn run they did at the same time! 🤯

Going back to the bolsters, Bob has a knife with horn, which they made as a sample, with the WRONG bolsters (the ones that were for the ebony knives)! And me and Charlie ended up with samples with some other horn, and the fluted bolsters :D

Lovely Stag Gary !
It's good to be informed Gary ;)
Thanks, Steve and Jack. :)
I'm always pleased and proud when it's Cracker Jack's turn to be my Lambsfoot of the Week!

I'm glad they made it home through the snow Gary, nice Lamb choices :)
Two lovely Lambs Gary !
And thanks again, Jack and Steve. :)
Jack, sometime during my recent "lost weeks" relative to posting in this thread, I read some posts in which you described the winter-like weather you were getting in late November/early December. I thought that was rather odd, since my stereotype has been that England generally has milder weather than Michigan has. But I looked up the latitudes of my city and yours and was surprised to see that Leeds is almost 10 degrees of latitude farther north than Grand Rapids is. (And Leeds is more than 7 degrees of latitude farther north than Sault Ste. Marie, MI, on the US/Canada border, which is about as far north as I typically travel.)

So, dishes and laundry, exercise and shopping, and maybe a small road trip or a larger outdoor project. Highs in the 40s,and we're already there.
Sounds like a LOT of work for a day off, Jer! 😲
The weather forecast I saw this morning suggested that you (and I) would be quite soggy all day, which would relieve you of your obligation for outdoor projects! ;)

Yes, it has been unusually cold during the early part of the winter this year, I didn't really get to wear my Autumn togs at all! It's only the Gulf Stream that keeps the British climate relatively mild, and since that is on the verge of packing in, things are going to change! 🥶
Good morning Guardians !

I hope everyone has a nice restful Sunday 👍

Speaking of the devil, here it is. I do enjoy this carry. The feathering is just right.

The horn was nice, in the end, but unfortunately, it was a completely different colour to the horn I'd been promised, and received a sample of, and a similar colour to the previous year's knives  Again, there were weeks of negotiations! 😖 Nice to see it my friend :)

They may not have been exactly what you asked for but they’re still beautiful knives. I’m kicking myself I didn’t get to the forum earlier when your SFO’s were still going. Especially those HHB’s! 😍

Yup, it rained all day:D. I got a machine screw at Lowe's to cobble together my failed revolver grips, and groceries at Meijer's, which was a little expensive because I bought the ingredients for non-alcoholic mulled wine by Nicolette of Home-cooked roots.
I ran the dishwasher and a load of laundry, and put away the big Christmas stuff. I always take down the Christmas stuff on New Years, but I feel I'll want my decks cleared of sentiment sooner than that this time.

I didn't get to the exercising. I'll do that tomorrow.
