I was just thinking about your Baxter Lamb, when I was looking back through the thread, this morning Steve
Sorry your have back problems again. Hope you heal up soon. Beautiful LambGood morning Guardians, I've had a good run with no back problems, but lugging the pre-Christmas shopping about probably didn't do it any good, and yesterday morning I felt it goI was hoping it'd be OK today, but sadly not
Thankfully, it isn't sciatica
Still, going to clip my wings though
Hope everyone is doing well, and that you have a good day
Gave L'Ariete his first strop last night

Stunning wood grain Kurt.Good day Guardians. Here’s a Rosecraft and a Toole. Some nice covers on both of these.
Jack sorry to hear your back is acting up. I am thrilled my back has improved. The exercises my Physical Therapist gave me and icing my lower back three times a day is helping. The crazy pain in my left leg when I stand is gone. I get tolerable pain now and can walk around enough to make things manageable. I was very careful with the oxy. That stuff was great for the pain but the scourge that was allowed to happen here is insane and I hope the Sacklers are eventually held responsible. I look forward to going on walks again. Not long walks yet but I miss seeing my walk friends and their dogs. I sure hope everybody here has a healthy year.

Glad you can predict the weather, unlike our professionals. Great bark Will.Happy New Year, Guardians!
The weather in South Florida has finally made a positive improvement. A few months back,Rufus1949 wished me a reprieve from the stifling heat and I recall stating that, wishes or not, it wouldn't be any more pleasant until at least January. Fortunately or unfortunately, I got that one right!
Here's a shot of The Stagnator: The Second Term enjoying a taxpayer-funded junket to Bill Baggs State Park on scenic Key Biscayne, FL.
Fun fact: During his presidency, Richard Nixon spent so much time at his Key Biscayne compound that it became informally known as The Winter White House.

Always a concern when a member stops posting. Hope your back improves.
Yes, thanks. Whatever it was stopped being whatever it was.Yikes, hope you're OK![]()

I looked at the Rosecraft Senators and the seem like nice knives but I prefer the Wright originals. From photos the Wright is a smidge shorter ( and it's plenty long enough) and as nice as they are I just don't like buying chinese knives.
Happy New Year, Guardians!

Been pretty busy with the holidays, lots of time with family and enjoying a (small) break from work. Just popping in to share another post of my GL-24 since it’s been a little bit. Not the best picture, but they can’t all be winners

Additionally, wondering if anyone has come up with any 2025 resolutions for their collection goals. I have a few (which should probably be kept to other threads) but one is to carry, use, or otherwise enjoy the good ones. Reflecting on 2024 and a few friends I’ve lost unexpectedly, I’m reminded how little time we actually get above ground and how important it is to enjoy things that make us happy.

Barrett, I ain’t gonna lie. The brisket was good but the jalapeño cheese sausage stole the show.Sounds like a good time, Pete, and the bbq looks tasty.![]()
Thanks Jack. The young man really enjoyed himself which was all I wanted. I can say that my ears were ringing pretty good, even before the evening fireworks.Looks like a great way to end the old year Pete![]()

I've been doing some comparisons, let's go there!
senator Vs senator
What is a senator essentially a gentleman's version of a lambsfoot. I am not going into prices as western made products versus imports is no longer comparable..
The Wright and rosecraft are very similar in length, also blade with of approx 12mm, I couldn't find my calipers but the Wright is slightly thinner and rosecraft about 3mm with ruler. I will say they are both very fine users.
Both have good user steels..
Blades
Wright - Carbon hones up easy, takes a fine edge.
Rosecraft-D2 will hold an edge longer, more a toothier edge.
Precision
I would give that to the Rosecraft. Look how straight that line is from blade to pivot, swedge is cut straighter. Although nail nick could be a little bigger. Has half stop.
Aesthetics
The Wright has it hands down. I was lucky to have a good. 1.
The Wright has matching clipped bolsters, that give it a sleek long.
Rosecraft has front bolster that is bordering on Barlow width and that smaller rear bolster detracts from the symmetry, I guess that it is their own unique style. But I find it really odd
Wright scales flow into the bolsters and filework on spine.
Rosecraft scales feel thicker and drop away to bolsters. I have found with some modern folder scales seem more like an overlay that drop off, not a fan.
I see the Wright senator a true gentleman style to drop in a waistcoat.
The Rosecraft, a beefy country cousin that doesn't quite have the style but is having a good go. I will be trying more of the models, maybe 1 day they will make a single bolster or shadow pattern.
I don't rate a knife 1 out of 10, rather
Does it work in my daily life.
Wright yes, Rosecraft yes.
Would I buy another or recommend it
Yep I would carry either.
These are just my comparisons.
