Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Happy New Year everyone I hope you all have a wonderful day and not too many of you have a headache. Going to see if the smell of fresh bread will wake the dead in my house 🤣

Duncan that’s a beautiful lamb and I hope AC shows up.
Happy New Year Guardians! I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Year.

I start this year of with the frustration and a little bit of horror that I cannot find my AC Lamb, I have completed over the top searches!
I try to tell myself that I have plenty of Knives- which I do, but when a Knife has such massive links to my mate Jack- it just hurts a little.
Yep, I could buy another Lambsfoot, but it will not replace my AC. In saying this I am lucky enough to my Lambsfoot draw and drool, and pick out another to carry today!

All the very best my friends :):)

I hope to find this wee champ one day

Happy new year, Guardians. I hope 2025 is better than expected.
I'm planning to stay off the roads tonight. Might step outside to watch if the neighbors are shooting fireworks.

Cool photo of your memorable stag lamb and your two new "familiars", Rachel! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

View attachment 2747989Happy almost new year from Dallas, Guardians! It’s a glorious sunny day in north Texas, so I took a few shots of my very first new lambsfoot purchase. A beautiful purple Box Elder from Daniels that I couldn’t resist. My favorite color and my new favorite blade thanks to you wonderful people in this crew.
Congrats on your pretty-in-purple lamb! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Winning pair of lambs, Kurt! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Steve, your Bonus pics of the day were one of my favorite parts of 2024 (even though I only became aware of them in August, I think)! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Happy New Year Guardians!
I'm staying home tonight. Chili on the menu
I wish I could begin and end each year with a bowl (or two) of chili; that would be a tasty tradition. Hope yours was everything you hoped it would be, Mike! Love the GL-24 on oak leaves! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

During the week of Dec. 15-21 (which contains my birthday), I carried Union Jack, my rosewood lambsfoot that my wife and daughter bought for me in York, England in the spring of 2017. Although it was my second lambsfoot knife, it was the one that taught me to use and value a lambsfoot blade.

First, a belated Happy Birthday Gary. May you enjoy health and happiness waiting for the next one.
Sweet lamb, unlike my letter opener!😃

Oh yeah, Eleanor got an iPad and Scout got an electronic drum pad. Not sure that was particularly kind to us as parents, but the girls were happy. 😁

Thanks, Leon. I had several of those made by Justin Lynch (not sure if he’s here on BF, but I know him through another online knife group) for some guys who meet up at the Badger Knife Show in Wisconsin every year. They are nice slips.

Thanks, Jack. 🙂

Beautiful old Lambsfoot. Shame about the tip, but a good looking old knife nonetheless. :thumbsup:

Great pic, Rachel! Happy New Year! :thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. We figured that’s what it most likely was. I certainly don’t recommend it! 😁 Even after two nights in a hotel and a full 24 after any symptoms, we were still a bit nervous about joining the rest of the family, and were relieved that no one else got sick.

Hope you had a nice time at the pub. I had to Google what a “hulat” was, and even then, the only result I found (which informed me that it was a small owl) was an article specifically about that pub.

I thought I was in the wrong thread for a second! 😲😁

What an excellent pair!

I love a good non-traditional Christmas movie, and that’s definitely a good one!

Hope you find your AC soon, Duncan! 🤞

Sounds like a good time, Pete, and the bbq looks tasty. 😎

Had to go with the fancy Cosimo Lamb for New Years (even though we didn’t do anything fancy at all). Happy New Year, Guardians! :thumbsup:

Nice picture and Happy New Year !

Good morning Guardians, and welcome to 2025! 🎆 I hope everyone had a pleasant New Year's Eve, and that there aren't too many sore heads this morning :) Wishing you all a safe, happy, gentle, and kind 2025 ;) :thumbsup:

All the Best Jack !

I bought these ornaments yesterday, partly because they were four dollars instead of fifteen, and partly because it hadn't occurred to me to adorn myself for New Year's Eve. I was going to make a crown and a stole.

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to shop on duty; but fortunately I was allowed to grab them and hide them behind the desk, because they were gone when I went back to see about switching the red for gold.
That's twinkly red ribbon under Rose Beast.

It's back!

Last year was at least the second New Year's where I thought of blackeyed peas on New Year's, and there were none in three stores. So I bought some when they came back, and here they are! Even soaked overnight.

A terrific movie, Jack, I've probably seen it half a dozen times. One of Sam Jackson's best, IMO.

Happy New Year !

Happy New Year to the Guardians of the Lambsfoot! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Duncan, I hope you find your stag lambsfoot in 2025 (and maybe a couple other stag lambsfoot as well). :thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

I never heard of In Bruges, but after watching the clip, its on my list of movies to see :thumbsup::)
Agree, Mike; that trailer suggested a film with high entertainment potential! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Me too, even though we still have 500 years, unless the lyricist was overly optimistic.

Changing calendars felt more momentous than usual. 2025 sounds like a Stardate.

[Oh, no, I hope that wasn't an interdimensional riff!]
...
Jer, it's encouraging to me that several of us are thinking ahead at least half a millennium! :thumbsup:🤓:thumbsup:

The number 2025 has some interesting mathematical features related to its factorization.
Factoring it into the product of prime numbers only, 2025 = (3^4)x(5^2) ; that's the first two odd primes raised to the first two positive even powers (in reverse order). Cool that the prime factorization has those small numbers 2, 3, 4, 5.
Looking at some of the combinations of those primes to find other factors of 2025, we can obtain
2025 = (9^2)x(5^2) = 81 x 25 (a LOT of quarters)
2025 = (9 x 5)^2 = 45^2 (hey, this year is a Perfect Square)
2025 = (3^2)x(3^2)x(5^2) = 9 x (3 x 5)^2 = 9 x 15^2 = 9 x 225 (we all know that 225 x 10 just appends a 0 on the right, 2250; but weird that 225 x 9 happens to append a 0 between the 2s, 2025)

If your year is getting off to a slow start, here's a little puzzle involving the digits of the current year I used to give to my students to work on as a class project for January. Use the digits of the new year, 2025, in order, along with the operations +, –, x, ÷, ^, √, !, and grouping symbols, to express as many of the numbers from 1-100 as you can. (They'd put up an index card on the bulletin board showing a solution for each number from 1-100, so we could keep track of which ones were solved and which still needed a solution.)
For example, we could express 1 = –(2+0+2)+5, or we could use 1 = (2^0)^25 (2^0 = 1, and 1^25 = 1). Similarly, we could say 6 = (2+0)÷2 + 5 or
6 = [(2+0!) – 2] + 5 (0! = 1, so 2+0! = 3, and (2+0!) – 2 =1, so 1 + 5).
If you could "solve" an average of 3 numbers per day for this entire month, you'd have 93 out of 100 finished by February!!

This morning's news show ran with the story and had an advisory about norovirus from the CDC; apparently it's going bad, nationwide!

I will try to acknowledge everyone with kindness, though sometimes it is a challenge!

I don't have enough fingers and toes to come up with an answer Gary.😃

The blankets are given to neighbors and friends, who are not as talented.

Making some rice in the old Comet rice cooker to mix with the black-eyed peas, which are done.
I don't remember how long the Comet rice cooker is supposed to cook, but I don't remember when I started it, either.
