Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you Bill

Another great shot Steve

Has Uncle Sam got you on piece-work rates pal? Great pic of that fine knife

Hope you're pleased with it :)

Nice pic David :)

Cool pic buddy :)

Great composition David :D I like your patch :)

Thank you my friend, you did a great job of reclaiming that one. I'm sure your pal will be thrilled

Sorry about the showers mate, I'm glad you managed OK :D

Good morning Guardians, it looks pretty miserable outside, which is generally pretty typical of an English winter I'm afraid. We don't get the low temperatures we've had recently, too often. Nor do we get too much snow. It generally rains a lot however, is windy, and generally unpleasant. The lighter nights are already on the way, thankfully, but if this year is typical, we'll have at least a couple of months of wind and showers. I usually meet up with my pals on Saturdays, but we have only made the loosest of arrangements this week, so I'll see how it goes. Most likely I'll head into town at some point. I was expecting some work yesterday, but it didn't come in, and I'm worried that it will arrive at the least opportune time  I have an extremely busy week ahead though, with trips to both the cardiologist and dentist, as well as a bunch of work, which is going to keep me busy. I hope your weekend goes well Guardians, and that you get some time to put your feet up and relax. I'm carrying my GL-24 today, such a great-looking knife :)

The rain was torrential yesterday again and eased up but a bit more to come. I did get to buy some new pots and plants.

Don't forget to relax mate.

A delicious way to work on that patina Mitch!👍🏻
Very nice horn José.👍🏻

Nice shot of your Senator !

I went back to double check the first post and make sure this is acceptable. I THINK this meets the guidelines on this thread, but if not I’ll gladly remove.

Anyways, a friend of mine reached out to me about “saving” a GEC 47 that used to have a different blade shape but had been reground into a straight-edge. He wanted the knife recovered, the blade thinned a bit, and the blade shape changed to something like a lambfoot. I must say, this was a daunting task, but he was very patient and very open to my creative input.

I won’t post the original condition it came to me, but you can probably imagine how it may have looked. Here’s the final product. The work completed includes new covers in mesquite, blade ground into a lambfoot shape, small choil added, and the blade has been slightly thinned and given a new satin finish. There is indeed a very slight taper to the blade. I would’ve liked to go a bit further down on the spine, but did not want to remove any more material as there is no nail nick and it needs to remain pinchable to open.

Thanks Steve :)
Very colourful Dave :)

I hope everyone is having a good day :) The rain stopped here, but the temperature has dropped again. Matt has a stinking cold, and Wolfie is doing some work on his house. With no sign of my work, I decided to head out anyway, and had a coffee with some ladies I know in Charlie's, then into town. I was hoping to meet up with Brother Tony and his lad for a pint, but they were a couple of hours late setting off, so I got something to eat on my own, did a little shopping, and headed back home. Still no sign of my work, so I'm thinking of opening a bottle of wine, if it's still not arrived in an hour ;) Have a good evening Guardians

Just flooding in the usual areas that councils have been "working" on for decades. I'm sure you can relate.
Happy Saturday Guardians !
