Excellent duo there!

Good morning Guardians !

It's turned cold here again, -1° this morning. Going to the funeral of my brothers mother in law later this morning. She was a neat lady and we shared a birthday. She will be missed but at 92 she lived a good life.

Albert Oates today

Sorry for your loss, Steve.

Built under Elizabeth Regina R.I.P.! Carried under, and by, a Charlie!!View attachment 2759900

Great pic, Charlie! They should put you on a coin, instead of that other Charlie with the big ears. 😁

Thanks Bob :) It was a good trip :) The only disappointing thing was seeing that a famous old York pub, which Peregrin visited with his son, and where me and Duncan had lunch, has been re-branded . It is now a "party bar" and live music venue, with a mock "Irish" theme, run by an irritating young man, with Dutch heritage :(

Shame about the pub, Jack. Sorry to hear it. 🙁

I took my nephew to the range for his first experience with a pistol recently. This .22 was the one.

With the upcoming CC lamb release, I’ve decided to carry this ebony example for the rest of the month. It’s such a good knife!

Very nice, Pete. I’ve always kind of wanted one of those Ruger MK IV .22s (though they may have still been on the MK III the last time I actually looked at buying one). For whatever reason I’ve never pulled the trigger (no pun intended).

The Barrett and beans 👍

Lookout.

😂

A dangerous combination. 😁🤣

It's very sad Gary, even the fellers at Leeds market were moaning about it today :(

I need to buy a book on Catalan, as I am headed to Girona for a few days at the end of March

Good afternoon Guardians, I am just back from the market. Next week will be the last time Tool Man will be there for at least 6 weeks, as he is going into hospital for a long-awaited hip operation. Boring Ray's wife had made us a giant sausage roll, of which Tool Man immediately ate half.

Later, when Shirley, brought down some chocolate fingers, the fat lump handed them out like Captain Scott, rationing chocolate on Christmas Day, and shoved the rest down his fat neck by the handful! Before sending Gravel off to buy some bhajis

I hope everyone has a good day :)

Sounds like Tool Man was trying to load up in case the hospital food is subpar. 😁

I'm sure they will want Tool Man on his feet as soon as possible Bob - and out of the door! 🤣 🤣

Surely he’s not a difficult patient… 🤣

I can own a gun in my state, but it would be illegal for me to own a slingshot. Go figure.

Interesting.

Thanks Jack. I too can buy a gun, but not a sling in my state. I have them sent to another state, then stepdaughter sends them here.
Hence I carry them illegally.

“Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.” 😉😁

Crazy! A slingshot is classed as a toy here! I can't own a gun anymore, nor pepper spray, or any number of other items, but a repeating crossbow is fine, and I can buy explosives, in the form of fireworks, most of the year 😖

And make sure your knife blade is under 3 inches and doesn’t lock! 🙄

Blowguns are illegal there, too, aren’t they? With the exception of a couple states, I think they’re still legal here in the US, with no age restriction. I had one when I was a kid, it was a lot of fun! 😁

Had a nice lunch with my Facilities team today in Seguin, TX. The brisket was good, the “brisket boudin” stole the show.

View attachment 2762257

That looks delicious, Pete! And did you say brisket boudin?? 🤤 You know, it’s been too long since I’ve visited Texas… 😁

If you really want to be a scofflaw, go get yourself a blowgun.

Brilliant! They are great fun  Unfortunately, for some bizarre reason, they banned them here when I was in my late teens 🤔

Guess I should’ve read further in the thread. 🙂

I guess every country/state has some weird legal contradictions, when I was in Poland, you could carry just about anything, including a sword of up to 3 feet in length, but baseball bats needed a license, and had to be carried between games in a locked case! 😵‍💫

Now that’s funny. 🤣

Any relation to Pablo? 😁

Old pic, but I’ve got my stag HHB with me today.

Thank you kindly Barrett. It’s very accurate. If you get interested definitely go Mark VI. Much easier to clean than the III. The 22/45 versions share the grip angle of the 1911 which may be a bonus to you.

Yeah, you'd have liked it in there :( The owner of the new place reckons it's inspired by Dublin's Temple Bar, an area, where these days, no Irishman would venture unless he was working, or rolling tourists! 🤨 It's full of rotten pubs, crammed with drunken eejits from England, on stag weekends! 😣
Sounds like Tool Man was trying to load up in case the hospital food is subpar. 😁

Oh you can absolutely guarantee that! :D The last time the daft sod was hospitalized with heart problems, he demanded his poor daughter bring him a 6 pack of high-strength lager, and when she only brought him 2 cans, he abused her, and demanded she leave! 😣 The hospital is only 10 minutes away for me, so I've told her to ring me if he's truculent again, and I'll go in, and twist his ears for him! :D

LOL! :D I was trying to find a pic of that vintage blow-gun ad with the feller holding up a huge armadillo or ant-eater! :D They're very accurate aren't they? I'm not sure at what length a pea-shooter becomes a blow-gun in British law!
Now that’s funny. 🤣
Yeah, they were licensed and everything! :D I made a visit to the Bialystock Weapons Shop with my mate, and I've never seen anything like it! 🤣
Any relation to Pablo? 😁
LOL! :D Feller has a YouTube channel, very thoughtful stuff. The book was a gift from our friend Cambertree Cambertree :)

Great dram and a very nice LF knife to boot!

Good afternoon Guardians. Haven't been posting. Been a rough month for me and my wife. We suddenly and unexpectedly lost our son over the Christmas holidays. It will be a while longer before there will be any sort of normalcy in our lives again. I will only be posting occasionally but one thing is certain; I am keeping my HHB close to me because it gives me a little comfort. The very best to all of you for the new year.

How terrible. Condolences and sympathy for you and your family.

Beauty of a lamb.
I would just end up breaking larger windows.🫤
You too.
I was on mums sh#t list for a long time after I put an arrow through my bedroom window. In my defence I was outside and the shaft had no head on it.

Those are highly illegal around these parts, along with sword canes. Pity too, I would love a blackjack.
You'll be needing an inch think oak walking stick.
Mine is just a walking stick. Self defence is not a legitimate reason here.
It was to be a vacation, but it turns out that if you want to fly to Girona, (or many other places in Europe), before April, there are no direct flights, and you have to, typically, go via the Canary Islands! 😖 I never realised flying was so darn SEASONAL! 😵‍💫 I checked out a range of other options last night - Riga, Gdansk, Marrakesh, Prague, but I'm beginning to wonder if we wouldn't just be better going to Edinburgh or something  I picked up 1200 Euros yesterday too! 😖

LOL! :D I believe it Mitch :D

Great pic :)

LOL! :D They make a loud ticking noise too Jeremy! :D The LEDs are a recent addition

Cool pic  I hope you get into using a camera again :)

 :D They look like a great skill to learn Christian, but I think they require more space :D That's a fab-looking Lamb my friend :)

Looks delicious Pete 😋👍

Nicely captured David :)

Sorry you're struggling buddy :( Nice options though

Another cool pic :)

I had an idea to make one that fired paint balls - didn't work out! 😖😂

Nice pic Mitch :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is well, and made it through another week :) Tool Man rang me last night, and he is going in early for his hip operation, so no market for the next 6 or 7 weeks. I'm not sure how he'll go on after that, because those tool boxes are heavy, it might be a good time to retire  I am expecting some work to come in today, but it might not be until this evening, worse luck  Thought I'd carry L'Ariete today :) I hope you have a good one Guardians

Thanks Jack
Hoped your story would give you a laugh 😃
I have heard of people as kids making pipe guns, thin pvc pipe, tape on the finger of a rubber glove and fire bal bearings.
