Yes, I flushed it with balistol, blew it out with compressed air and then lubed the pivot area with KPL.

Buddy had those boots in blue for awhile I eventually gave, he figured out how to throw 1 off.
People forget about dogs paws. If it's a 100+ I wouldn't be walking on the road or sidewalk barefoot. We always walked early to avoid the heat.

We were taught a pretty good rubric to decide if it's too hot for a dog walk. If it's too hot to hold the back of your hand against the ground for more than 20 seconds, it's too hot for dog paws.

It never really gets cold enough around here for me to worry about the opposite. Very occasionally it'll get down to 30° F or so, which doesn't seem to phase my dogs at all, but it's usually in the 50s, minimum, before we walk them. So I don't know a good rubric for deciding if it's too cold for a dog walk.

Yeah the cold is not huge for us, very rare to get below 35f.
 
Today is Dawn's birthday. Among other things, we did a short hike with the dogs.

Please note that those aren't actually teeth - just white chocolate chips.

I'm a pretty decent cook (and the roast chicken will taste and look great tonight) but I basically bake one cake a year, so my decorating chops are obviously non-existent. (Have I mentioned that my Mom was a professional wedding cake maker when I was a kid, making stunning cakes? I inherited none of that.) Mine always taste pretty good, but I do lament that I am unlikely to ever make a beautiful cake for Dawn. (Fortunately, she thinks it's hilarious.)
