Terrific K'roo, Kurt; such an intensely interesting knife, so much to look at!

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
Thank you kindly Barrett. It’s very accurate. If you get interested definitely go Mark VI. Much easier to clean than the III. The 22/45 versions share the grip angle of the 1911 which may be a bonus to you.

Good afternoon Guardians. Haven't been posting. Been a rough month for me and my wife. We suddenly and unexpectedly lost our son over the Christmas holidays. It will be a while longer before there will be any sort of normalcy in our lives again. I will only be posting occasionally but one thing is certain; I am keeping my HHB close to me because it gives me a little comfort. The very best to all of you for the new year.

Work picked up a little today. Not much but better than nothing. Got the GL-24 today.

Texas brisket is how I judge a BBQ joint... but you sent me over the top with brisket boudin! Funny enough there's a chain (Rudy's, I know you're familiar) that I'm "like okay" with but their green chili brisket stew is my favorite thing on their menu.
Took the kids for a walk along the river this morning before it got too hot. 37C today and for the next few days.

sounds too cold.
that still amazes me.
I've only seen snow about 3 times in my life, never had to shovel it's that's for sure.
Morning Guardians !
Just got back from our morning walk. It was -13°but thankfully little wind.
Cassie was wearing her boots and I was bundles up .

I hope everyone's week gets off to a good start![]()
I’ve seen the 22/45, but one of the things I’ve always liked about the standard MK IV is the sort of Luger-esque look it has. I even kinda like the ones with the basic tapered barrel. Would go great with my no-frills, stock 10/22, which I absolutely love shooting.
Oh man, Bill, I’m so sorry to hear about your son. That’s absolutely terrible. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
Great pic, Paul.
Back when we lived in Arizona, there was a Rudy’s close to my work, and we’d go there occasionally for lunch. It was decent enough for a chain bbq joint.
Nice pic! Hope you were able to stay cool. Wish I could swap you just a bit of our cold temps for some of your warm.
The best kind of medicine! Hope you’re feeling better soon. Your GL-24 is looking good!
You’re not missing much, Mitch.I actually haven’t had to shovel much snow this winter or last, but it’s plenty cold here right now.
Glad you’re staying warm out there, Steve — except, I’m guessing, your hands when you took that knife pic.
Hope all the rest of y’all are staying warm, too (or cool, in the case of our antipodean Guardians). It’s been plenty cold here this weekend, and I spent more time than I would’ve liked outside trying to get my wife’s car working right. Sunday morning (-5°F or so out), it wouldn’t start, so I started up my truck, hooked up the jumper cables and got it going. Well apparently it didn’t like that (I guess newer vehicles with their fancy computers aren’t fond of jumpstarts), because by the time she got in after letting it run for a couple minutes, there were all sorts of warning lights and error messages, the radio/display wasn’t working, and the throttle was completely unresponsive when you pushed the gas pedal.
Now I don’t mind doing minor fixes/maintenance work on our vehicles, but I’m definitely no mechanic, so what turned out to be a fairly simple fix in the end (a new battery and a couple fuses) took me longer than I care to admit with my trial and error approach and Google/YouTube diagnostics.
Anyways, I’m glad it’s back up and running now. Here’s some Lambsfoot content.

Thankfully I don’t have anywhere to be in the morning.(Hey, at least the wind chill isn’t too bad.)

Well congratulations to Dawn !Hope it was a great day.Today is Dawn's birthday. Among other things, we did a short hike with the dogs.

And I made her a cake.

Please note that those aren't actually teeth - just white chocolate chips.
I'm a pretty decent cook (and the roast chicken will taste and look great tonight) but I basically bake one cake a year, so my decorating chops are obviously non-existent. (Have I mentioned that my Mom was a professional wedding cake maker when I was a kid, making stunning cakes? I inherited none of that.) Mine always taste pretty good, but I do lament that I am unlikely to ever make a beautiful cake for Dawn. (Fortunately, she thinks it's hilarious.)

Wow! Stunning pic Steve
That's a pretty good tip TysonWe were taught a pretty good rubric to decide if it's too hot for a dog walk. If it's too hot to hold the back of your hand against the ground for more than 20 seconds, it's too hot for dog paws.
It never really gets cold enough around here for me to worry about the opposite. Very occasionally it'll get down to 30° F or so, which doesn't seem to phase my dogs at all, but it's usually in the 50s, minimum, before we walk them. So I don't know a good rubric for deciding if it's too cold for a dog walk.
Got some nice character now Mitch
Happy Birthday from Yorkshire Dawn!Today is Dawn's birthday. Among other things, we did a short hike with the dogs.

Very nicely presented
