Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm ready to get the weekend started, we're not doing anything special just some piddling around the house. I need to put a new edge on the Barrett lamb.. or at least a quick strop.

Juuuuuust curious, how many of these were made?

Good morning Guardians, getting to the end of the week now, and I hope everyone has had a good one :) I have a bunch of tasks and chores to take care of today, but hoping to meet up with Wolfie at some point, for a coffee. Have to see if the stars align! :D Carrying Schultz! :D

Looks like you need to be concentrating on getting some other things aligned here too Jack! 😅

The Lords Of Livestock shone their light on me this week…

I can’t say here’s the Old v New, as both are relatively new. Nor can I say here’s the OG v’s the New Pup(Lamb).. as even though the bottom is a take on the top, I was heavily influenced by the the bottom while I was re-profiling/ modding the top! 🤔

From my experience only 🫣🤐, although I’ve no doubt some others feel the same?
It is a shame that to get anything close to the build quality of a production GEC you have to go custom here in the U.K., and even then it’s to be the right custom maker!
This A Wright Large Lambsfoot has a wonderful snap after a smooth walk but Heavens above was the fit and finish shocking!
Finish, sure can be fettled up DIY style but fit is a harder thing to sort out.
I say on their more expensive “premium” line they should spend less time fancying them up with a file, “finer” cover materials, blasting on the polishing wheel and more time just getting the basics actually right! There I said it.. 🪖🧑‍🚒🪖

Nice to see your comparison of such fine examples. Charlie did a wonderful job, keeping the essence of the old lambs.
I agree with your evaluation of newer lambs. We have been fortunate over here. The fit and finish are quite acceptable, but lack character to me.

I see promise in a few new cutlers. They are even willing to take positive criticism to heart, and adjust their designs.

😅
It’s been a great day!

Very nice, Dan! Congratulations on that beauty.
Nice shot of your Ebony Waynorth Lamb, Pete!
Thanks Barrett!
I had a pretty good mail day today. 😁 I hope a lot of these beauties find their way into Guardians’ hands!
Stunner!
This knife has become the whole families emergency knife. This thing did wonders for Christmas.
Very cool Paul. Great to have a sharp table top knife.
Cool picture, Pete. Almost at the halfway point 😂
lol. We made it to Friday buddy
Nice ebony Pete.👍🏻
If you call in sick, it could be.
😆👍🏻

Nice pair and great job on the fluted bolster. I've thought about doing the same on a couple of mine.

Very nice ! I'm carrying mine today as well 👍

Thanks, its pretty close considering I only had web photos to go from but they were pretty close to start with, just material removal from the A Wright.
Agreed, Charlie, everyone involved have truly done an impeccable job for sure, maybe too nice 🤔 😂, leaving us here with cap in hand and jaw on floor!!

I can imagine those that make it into your hands overseas have passed through a few more hands and under more discerning eyes before they reach you?
There's promise for sure, as long as feedback is given. As I small (very) maker myself I know its very easy to just exist in your own world, assuming you already know what's wanted and how to execute it.

Thanks! It's far from perfect but its simple enough if you just take your time with the correct tools and equipment. Can certainly bump up the look and feel of a knife.

Thanks Jack
You pagan, red liquorice 🥹🥹🥹😖
I wouldn't eat it myself mate, I love the real stuff! :d

I was up a bit late doing a self-medical exam. I have real doctors, but this was free through work, so WTC. ('What the consortium') I'm trying to cut down on swearing.))
And I had naively thought myself to have supped full of horrors already.
I did get a free tailor's tape measure out of it.
Sounds intriguing doc! :D
Wouldn't want to mess with either one, a couple of tough old birds.
Me neither Steve, arms like ham hocks, and tabards taken from the Knight's Templar!
Cool picture Jack ! 👍
Thanks pal :)
