Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians, dull, dreary, and drizzling here today, and I'm in no mood to go anywhere fast, particularly as I slept badly again  I've been so messed up this week, I thought I'd missed Pancake Day, my second favourite holiday! :D Hope everyone has made it through the week OK, and that everyone is going to be fit and healthy for the weekend 🤞Got my Charlie Lamb with me today :)

Just noticed I didn't hit the Post button 8 hours ago! 🫣

Charlies Lambsfoot is looking used and loved Jack!
I hope the Sun shines a bit brighter for you today my friend!

Original Charlie lamb slices grape tomatoes very cleanly for my tomato and cheese sandwich. I am still balking at putting the new one to use and losing the blade etch.

Ok.... so I have two of Charlies Original Lambsfoot Knives, the Bone and the Ebony, what is everyone's opinions on Charlies latest release- that stunning FC Lambsfoot Knife, is it impossible to compare and totally respect each release to be amazing - or does the FC Lambsfoot win this race?

Is it simply my opinion I couldn't imagine something overriding the originals as they are so superb - yet when you see the FC Lambsfoot - it's pretty darned beautiful.

So..... to those out there whom own both - what really are your thoughts? I'm just super interested in owners opinions as they both are such great Knives.

Such self control! :D
Indisputable logic 🤓
I think you gents might have detected a flaw in my reasoning! 🤣
That's a great pic Steve

Hmmm, a good question Duncan, and I might have to consider it more soberly ;) But I remember, when I first handled the FC, thinking 'WOW!' Charlie's previous Lambs are stunning, but there's something about this one, the action perhaps, it is one sweet, sweet Lambsfoot  :)

Duncan,
I believe they are different, but have no hierarchy. Both of mine brought the same level of delight upon receiving them. They each carry a uniqueness to be appreciated in my pocket.
My knives will be a remembrance of Charlie's understanding of the lambsfoot pattern, his creativity and the time and effort put forth.
They also bring to mind the members that share a passion for this interesting blade and it's usefulness.
In short, they stand on equal footing.

Good question though.

Jack- that's why I ask- there IS something about the FC, but my mind goes back and (lets call them Charlie's originals) the originals are just as special! I'm thinking that because there is such a strong relationship with the Flat Cap within this particular world, the many, many discussions held, the Sheffield influence etc- has this made the FC more family. Lets admit it the Jig work on the Flat Cap and the colour of the Bone- lets not forget that- that Bone colour just about sells itself.
Today is incredibly busy, but I need to bring out some knives for photos - I'm taking some today, but different unmentionables here :)

I love this reply Bob, as Jack said- well said. It sounds like you are very much like me- there is so much in each knife - many things come into each different knife for example I have visions of when the knife was passed over to me, or the relationship that started back then to the time now that led the Knife existing in front of me, and then everything about the knife itself on top of all this.
Our friends like Charlie, Jack and Lyle with the SFO's, and our very own Barrett whom I feel is very much a part of the GL, every time I think of my GL, I feel like calling it Elevation - silly, so there is a very personal Human factor in my knives, as it is for many in Traditionals here, which is very clear.
This is why I'm still stinging about my AC, there's way more to the knife than the Knife, there's a lot of Jack Black with that Knife. A.Wrights could send me a box of 10 brand new in the box, and they wouldn't replace that one.
Next you'll be wanting to know which is our favourite kid🤣🤣

Good question though.
🤣 Haha Mitch so true- which one do you love the most, my youngest teases me ( Tayla, she is a Solicitor and going on 28 ) by "telling" me that I love her way more than her sister Kelsey - who normally is sitting right beside her at this time lol, I always reply " No way - I love Kelsey waaaaaay more than you " and opens it up to a good banter session 😂

It's like if there was a fire in the house, I am in the hallway, I have time to save only one...... my knife collection...... my wife.....
I would probably die of smoke inhalation standing in the hallway looking from my left hand and tossing up the decision "....Wife... to my Right hand..Knife collection........ Wife....... Knife collection..........".🤣

Just joking, of course I would save my knife collection.

😝

In agreement with Jack, Bob summed it up very nicely. As of yet, I have only used my FC to open mail. However, functionality wise I would have to think they would be equal.
Aesthetically, I love them both, but, the bone and jigging on the FC have a slight edge. I missed out on the release of the originals and was only able to get one through the generosity of a fellow I see at OKCA. He had two and offered to sell me a bone one for a very reasonable price. The fact that I was lucky to get an original, and have been carrying it for getting close to a year now, gives it a slight edge. So, overall, as Bob said, they stand on equal footing.
