Good morning guardians. Haven't posted in awhile. Been recovering from surgery. Have a little ways to go yet but making some progress. It's hell getting older.

I feel sorry for our younger members! Many thanks, Duncan, seems like we are all getting older at the same time. Too many doctor visits among the Guardians, but we are all in together.![]()

"Loudest" alarm clock in the world is a dog preparing to hurl...makes me fly outta bed. Hope the stomach issues resolve quickly and the carpet cleans easily!Lazy Sunday morning here, Guardians. Triple whammy of dreary wet and cold day in Dallas, the daylight savings Spring forward lunacy and our older dog was up half the night destroying our bedroom carpet with catastrophic stomach issues. To brighten things up, here’s the lovely Purple Burl which I had hoped to take out for a sunny photo session but instead is helping me make my second espresso.

Off to visit Blade Show Texas in Fort Worth at 930aView attachment 2811566. No lollygagging for me until after lunch!
Nothing irreplaceable. Thanks for the concern!Hope there wasn't too much damage !
Big improvement! Well done. So, I finally had it with the Twisted Lambs edge. It was just too thick behind the edge and since they butchered the initial grind it just wasn't getting much better no matter what I did. I decided to get out my hand held belt sander. I flipped it over on its back on my workbench and with a worn out 80 grit belt I carefully started sanding the blade. I dipped in water often to keep it cool. I started with the pile side and it went pretty well so I went ahead and did the mark side. No action shots but after that I used finer and finer wet dry paper to smooth it out. I then gave it a subtle vinegar patina
It's much thinner behind the edge with a subtle convex grind.

Cancer sucks. It’s nice to hear any good news. Hope your wife continues to hear positive news.Yesterday I had a 200 miles roundtrip taking my wife to the cancer center in Bradenton. Just looking for a second opinion after the surgeon who removed her lung tumors thought she got all the cancer. So the wife needs a couple more scans to be certain it hadn't spread, but we're believing all is well. Enjoying some coffee and a bagel this morning with Berry in pocket. Have a great weekend, Guardians!

Out the Door to work!
Have the very best day Guardians
Big improvement! Well done.
I was scrolling through my email in a hospital bed after just finding out I had cancer in May of 2018, when the Jack’s order for the ‘18 Guardians Lambsfoot came through. I considered not ordering one, not knowing what would be happening in the future, but ultimately decided that I needed to. We’re both still here…
