Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

So, I finally had it with the Twisted Lambs edge. It was just too thick behind the edge and since they butchered the initial grind it just wasn't getting much better no matter what I did. I decided to get out my hand held belt sander. I flipped it over on it's back on my workbench and with a worn out 80 grit belt I carefully started sanding the blade. I dipped in water often to keep it cool. I started with the pile side and it went pretty well so I went ahead and did the mark side. No action shots but after that I used finer and finer wet dry paper to smooth it out. I then gave it a subtle vinegar patina

It's much thinner behind the edge with a subtle convex grind.

Very well done!! Looks great now.

I couldn’t imagine going so long without mango! It’s seasonal obviously but prices vary depending on variety and time of year. In peak mango season a honey gold mango for $3.50 is peak fruit pleasure!

Enjoying the new lamb, needs a lot of carry to get some colour into that bone.

When I have visited the Philippines I practically lived on mango. Nothing like tree ripened mango. Around here we have to settle for mango imported from Mexico, usually Ataulfo and Indian mango. Not as good as fully tree ripened, but still good.

Lazy Sunday morning here, Guardians. Triple whammy of dreary wet and cold day in Dallas, the daylight savings Spring forward lunacy and our older dog was up half the night destroying our bedroom carpet with catastrophic stomach issues. To brighten things up, here’s the lovely Purple Burl which I had hoped to take out for a sunny photo session but instead is helping me make my second espresso.

A great-looking Lambsfoot and a fine cup of coffee looks like much-needed medicine Dave. Hope your dog is better, and that you have better weather today
Thanks gentlemen!

I married later in life, and my wife's sons were basically grown when I came along. I am the male figure in his life, and he is the first boy I have helped to raise. So, he and I are a mix of grandfather/grandson and father/son. He makes me play video games with him, and I do my best to interest him in tools, pocket knives, and fishing. We love spending time together, and I hope that never changes for him. I know it won't for me.
That sounds like a lovely relationship Adam :)
Stellar pic
Out the Door to work!
Have the very best day Guardians
Have a good week Duncan :)
I was scrolling through my email in a hospital bed after just finding out I had cancer in May of 2018, when the Jack’s order for the ‘18 Guardians Lambsfoot came through. I considered not ordering one, not knowing what would be happening in the future, but ultimately decided that I needed to. We’re both still here…

Looks like you had a great time Pat, what fantastic photos 😍👍
Your FC Lamb is looking good my friend :) I bought a pair of the Mini Waterpump Pliers a couple of years ago, thought they'd be handy EDC, but quickly found I wasn't using them for much! :D I've no idea where I've put them now! 😖
Great pics Will :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope that everyone is well, and that you had a fine weekend. My internet signal was so bad, I couldn't load posts last night, and gave up in the end. I watched some comedy. Thought this might amuse some of you ;)

I was working quite a bit over the weekend, but starting on Wednesday, I have 2-3 intense weeks starting, and not only will I struggle to find time to post, I'm not going to be able to carry a knife for much of the day  So, I can't say I'm looking forward to it at all :( Wishing everyone a good week :) I'm going to enjoy L'Ariete while I can ;)
