I asked for Charlie’s thoughts on how the original was done. He said it looked like the old method of hitting it with PP and buffing off most of the colour outside the grooves in the finishing process. So you’re on the money already mate
To get that aged, stained look - like patina - I believe it has to be earned not forced. It’s part of the joy that is knives for me
