I think I will Doctor Black.
I may even try your diet. Looks delicious.
Thanks Bob, I'm enjoying this kind of eating at the moment 😊👍
Thanks buddy 👍🤠

Hope you enjoy the market tomorrow Jack. Tell the rabble-rousers howdy 🤠
Thanks a lot David, will do! 👍 What shall I tell the rabble?! 🤣👍
That's a tasty looking meal !
Thanks Steve, I really enjoyed it 😋
That sent me on an interweb search. It sounds good 😋 I'm not sure we have an American equivalent. We have hash, but its not really the same 🤔
It's usually just made with leftover mashed potato and cabbage :)

Happy Double Lamb Day Tyson! 😊 I actually had one myself, without knowing! I've been carrying my Hartshead Barlow round all day too! 😁👍
Guardians, I haven't had much time at the computer lately because my daughter's family is vacationing with us this week, but I've been carrying Berry every day; he's a work horse!

A ho-hum photo from me today:

Also, I am a bit heartbroken. I discovered a crack that goes all the way through and 1/4 way across the width of the tang:

No doubt this is related to my habit of letting the blade snap close.

I have had this knife for less than 3 weeks, but I have carried it every day and it has grown on me very quickly. Will it crack more? If so, can I repair it?

Bummer, maybe contact the seller and see if he'll replace it.

How can you tell that it goes all the way through? No possibility it could just be on the surface and wraps around?

I generally let all my knives snap closed, except the finicky hothouse-flower French ones, and I've not experienced blades cracking. I think there may yet be doubt that the practice and the crack are related.

From the little I know of steel, a few things could happen:

- It could remain just as it is.
- It could fail catastrophically in use, especially if the flaw runs through the whole tang, or is indicative of a less than ideal heat treat.
- The increased surface area and unpolished surface within the crack could promote corrosion which would structurally weaken the area gradually until it failed catastrophically in use.

If it were me, and the manufacturer wouldn't replace, I think I'd try to determine how deep the flaw ran exactly and let those findings dictate how I used the knife going forward. Maybe some gentle polishing of the area in question would reveal more detail.
