It's funny how we talk about our history, when, except for the native Americans, it existed milliseconds compared to other cultures. My town was settled in 1664 and that's young compared to any English town.
Very interesting article and generous offer Will.1664!! Golly, Bob - that's as old as the hills (of which we have none)!!!
Miami was only incorporated in 1896 - it's no wonder the city still feels like a start-up!
The possibly (at this point) pseudo-Donald Ross course at the Biltmore Hotel was designed in 1925 and played by such famous, and infamous, characters as Babe Ruth and Al Capone! An interesting review of the course can be found here: Biltmore - Donald Ross with a Checkered Past.
If you ever come down to play this one - holler at your boy! I grew up about a mile away and now live only another mile beyond that. Depending on how the trees are trimmed - I can see the Biltmore's central spire from my backyard.

Hello, Guardians. Took a mini hiatus from BF but I’m back. Had a wonderful time at Badger. Always enjoy being in the company of fellow BF members and in particular Guardians. We did not act like college kids and down a bottle of liquor but still had a blast. I’m awful about taking pictures and unfortunately did not snap one photo.
My favorite pickup from Badger is this wonderful William Rodgers Lamb/spey in buffalo horn. What an incredible one. I have pulled Excalibur from the stone!!!! Excalibur being the Lamb of course and the stone being Barrett’s paws. He is an obstacle when it comes to getting a knife from his collection. I’m sure he got tired of me asking and caved in
. Thanks Barrett for allowing me to trade for this epic knife. Have no idea of the age but I’m over the moon about it.
Didn’t get to carry my HHB last weekend so in the pocket it goes today.

Jb lamb
As I showed you on Saturday we had lots of rain, well about an hour Half north west on Saturday night a campsite was flooded when the river broke it's banks. It was a flash flood campers were stuck. Kristy showed me the pics that had been posted online, people have climbed up on the amenities block to get out of the water. 1 picture showed this guy sitting on the bonnet of his ute/pick up truck with his dog. It was Kristy's little brother, going to be an expensive trip lost all his camping gear and his phone.

Thanks Steve,Sorry to hear about the flooding, glad no one was hurt or worse !
Well done Paul ! Great addition to the spey collection![]()
Appreciate the compliment, Jack. That’s officially and without jest my favourite lamb I’ve seen to date, very cool pickup mate.
Thanks, Steve. Gonna be hard to top this one. Thanks Steve,
He's very laid back
Sadly in the same region some silly gent decided to drive through a flooded causeway towing a caravan, the only reason authorities knew was a local saw rhe caravan in the flood water, he hasn't been located yet.
There has been some real stupid people trying to take on flood waters. A truck driver had to be rescued last month in Queensland from his semi trailer, the water was past the bottom of his doors. The scary thing is it seems to be people old enough to know better![]()
