We went in one pub, but it looked so bad, we actually backed out, and headed on to the Green Dragon. We had been intending to also visit Hardraw Force, a famous waterfall, which is located some way behind the pub, but we were getting short of time now, so settled for a pint

It was now rather gloomy, but we sped on towards the Buttertubs Pass.

Matt wasn't sparing the horses!

It was now time to take the road to the Tan Hill Inn, but looking ahead we could see at least one vehicle stuck! ๐Ÿ˜–

Thankfully, it wasn't too long before a farmer arrived with a tractor

At least he picked an attractive spot to get stuck!

He certainly made a mess of the road though!

Before we could jump back in the car, the second motorhome made a run for the corner too, but fortunately he made it, and we followed him towards the isolated Tan Hill Inn.

The biting wind was gusting like crazy, and we hurried inside!

Good morning, Guardians. Blustery weather in North Texas. Iโ€™m heading to a friendโ€™s family place in the country for some stock pond fishing, grilled steaks, cigars and whiskey under the stars, which means an overnight at the guest house tomorrow night. Carrying the Bayou Trapper Lamb and other supplies. Hopefully I will have some fun photos to share when I return. Happy Tuesday to all!View attachment 2836437

Absolutely glorious photos, Jack!
Thanks Dave, that sounds fantastic! Hang onto your hat buddy :)
Wonderful photo tour Jack.๐Ÿ˜
Thank you Jack for each post of glorious countryside and happenings! ๐Ÿฅฐ
Fabulous pictures Jack ! I'm always amazed at the miles of stone walls ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ‘
Thanks gents :) There are thousands of miles of dry stone walls Steve, many are over a thousand years old. There are also thousands of miles of road - and all of it is better looked after than my street! ๐Ÿ˜–
Good day Guardians !

A absolute treasure :)

I did pick up a few knives on my travels, but none are good enough to post here ;)

Afternoon Guardians! Still enjoying your pics jack. There's still some stone fences left around here that were built by the pioneers. Altho most are in a sad state or been removed. Cloudy and very windy. Got my stampede string cinched tight so my hat don't end up in Nebraska ๐Ÿคฃ Needham ๐Ÿ‘ today

I had two quotes, I thought. One about the forks in the folk museum: I can match some of their other utensils, too.
One about a building called the Crown: We parked our caravan early in our trip in 1967 outside a pub called the Crown. The proprietor was a very rough-looking customer with a rougher guard dog inside the pub. Somewhere we bought bread that seemed to have wood chips in it, and we met the milkman, who couldn't bring us milk to the grounds of the pub because "Oh, I'm not allowed there". He delivered it just over the property line.
