Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

We spent the evening at my best friend’s parents’ house. We used to have Sunday dinners with them just about every week when we still lived here in Arkansas, and they’re basically family, so it’s always good when we can spend some time with them when we’re in town. Had a couple beers, some wine and plenty of good food (no one ever leaves their house hungry).

I had my Cosimo Lambsfoot with me.

I have a walnut growing between the planks of my deck that will become a stick this year. It's a handful where it becomes round above the planks, and I presume it has a reverse taper below the planks. I haven't decided whether I'll just cut it after the sap falls, or try to bend it at a right angle before the sap falls, and see if it forms a handle. I think science demands the latter.

The heat advisory starts at noon and ends tomorrow evening, unless they change their minds and lengthen it again. Half a gallon of water will still be enough for a four hour shift. It would be silly to give myself heat exhaustion by carrying extra water.
Stay hydrated Jer :)
Stay cool Jer. We have a heat warning as well, it's already 82° at 6am. The heat index for later is 110° 🥵
Yikes! Been hot here, but not THAT hot! 🥵
Beni's going to work again this morning, but first some tea.

Great shot of your AC Steve
I enjoy coffee, but only drink it occasionally. It’s just never been one of those have-to-have-it things for me.
I didn't get the chance of a cup yesterday
I don’t even trust chicken fried steak when I see it on a menu in Minnesota. 🤣

We’re back home in Arkansas right now, visiting family and friends. I’ve had my GL-24 with me the last couple days, but I’ve got a couple different lambs with me so I’ll try to change it up while we’re here.

I haven't either, Jack!! I have at least a dozen "blanks", all nicely seasoned, but arthritis in my hands has discouraged me!! 😳
Same here Charlie  Sorry to hear about your arthritis my friend, I think it gets us all unfortunately :(
Looking good Ed

That's nice Barrett, I'm glad you're able to keep in touch with your friends and family there :) Great pic of the girls :)

Good morning Guardians, yesterday turned into a bit of a nightmare work day for me, as I was being asked to help out with something. Having sorted it out, I went to a country pub with Matt and Cillian, and the problem recurred, so I was having to try to sort it out on my phone. We visited the Harewood Arms, on the very edge of Leeds, which used to be a favourite stopping off point, when I had business in nearby Harrogate, but has been closed for about a year, due to the extreme quirkiness of the Sam Smith's brewery owner  We were expecting some changes, new decor, a new menu perhaps, but in fact it's exactly the same, so I've no idea why they were closed so long. The same happened with one of their popular pubs in Leeds city centre, it closed for a couple of years, then re-opened exactly the same as before 😖

One thing that HAD changed was the fact that they're now using plastic glasses if you're seated outside, and they certainly appear to hold quite a bit less than a pint 🤨

Unfortunately, I had to get back home to do more work, which was frustrating, and then my fan stopped working, and I gave my spare one to some neighbours  I'm hoping it's just a fuse, but when I went to my tool box to get one, I realised that it must be 20 years since I last changed a fuse, maybe more. I'm sure I have some somewhere still, but I'm going to have to ferret through my tool box to find them  That's my first job, and then I've got a bunch of other work to do, so unfortunately, it's not going to be a restful Sunday :( I hope you have a good one Guardians, and get to put your feet up with a cold one :) Carrying my GL-24

I managed to find some fuses in the kitchen drawer, but that wasn't the issue with my fan, and after taking it apart, and finding nothing else wrong, I reckon it's the motor. It's a nice fan, and at one time I'd have taken it to the local electrical shop to get it repaired, but those shops are long gone sadly :( I remembered I had a small desk fan, and a couple of air purifiers, and I also have a fan in the bedroom, so I reckon I'll survive :D ;)

Sorry to hear your troubles Jack. May you find some cooler days ahead and have no need for fans. Everything is made to be disposable now!

Those scales add so much character to that lamb.

A good day to you too, Jack.
