Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning, Guardians. Last few days of my birthday week boat trip. No lambs aboard with me because of air travel but I think some of y’all will appreciate seeing one of our weekend movie night picks. Great film. Highly recommended if you have not seen it. One of John Wayne’s best performances. Every actor in this one is in top form.IMG_1726.jpeg

Excellent choice 👌

The smoke from the Canadian fires have been terrible here the last two days. I might have to do the same and get a better filter . My house smelt like smoke last night when I was going to bed.

Steve,
We’re on a boat in northern Lake Michigan and woke up to the smell of smoke overnight too. How’s this for a nuclear sunrise? Those wildfires in Canada are blowing smoke to the south making the skies hazy crazy.

Hope you get to sleep soon buddy, cool pic 😎👍

Hope Sunday is a day of rest for you. Interesting eo. 👍🏻
Thanks guys :)
Finally went down at 4:30 a.m. Slept soundly to 8:30 a.m. Not really enough, but its good for now. I'm going to try and not nap this afternoon or I'll be up half the night again. One big advantage of being retired is if one's sleep rhythm gets out of whack, its not a big problem. Plus you get to watch Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea reruns on late night TV:p

Hey! Always a pleasure to see that one Steve :)

Thanks Jack !

That's terrible.

Yep, pretty bad.

Hope you can get some favorable breeze today Steve.

It has started to shift from the south and it's getting better.

Sunrise was the same here as well 😲

Time to begin landscaping. A Teddy Bear magnolia. I know, not the best time.View attachment 2924518
Nice pic Bob, that's an interesting patina :)

I had my windows open to cool off with the early morning air, but it turns out we have an air quality alert through tomorrow.
It's time I looked into MERV 13 furnace filters, like they always recommend for those of us with AC,

I just ordered two Merv 13s for $20 less than the last pair of Merv 11s I bought. No sense leaving them in my cart till the price goes up or they sell out.
I was thinking I'll have to use up the 11s before I use the 13s, but that's nonsense. I can switch them with conditions. We still have more non-smoke days than smoke days, for the time being at least.

Maybe I should get a roll-up silicone chess board for when I flee to the swamp.

I really worry about the long-term effects of this bad air on your health my friends :(

Have a good one David

I headed out about 11am, and had coffee and a piece of baklava at Charlie's, then went into town. One of my errands was ordering some new specs, which cost me £350 for the 2 pairs, and that was with about £100 discount, due to an offer  I was going to have a Vietnamese lunch, but the place was shut unfortunately, and the second Vietnamese place I visited was packed out. I ended up just getting coffee and cake somewhere. Matt was meeting up with some visiting Muay Thai buddies, and after they'd trained, we had a drink together - they were mainly on water or lemonade, so the rounds were cheap ;) What a nice bunch of young guys :) One of them, whose originally from Colombia, had Yorkshire pudding for the first time, and really liked it :D Me and Matt had a couple of pints, but then I had to head home to take a call, and do half an hour's work - the first I've done all week, so I can't complain :D Hope everyone has had a good day
