Hi Ian, welcome to BladeForums. I suggested to Duncan that you join. I'm glad you like the Barlow, it'd be nice to see a photo (please see post #1 in relation to this), which will then make you a member of our Guardians fraternity. There's lots of information on the knives here in this thread, which can be found using the Search function, as well as with the Thread Index, (which only covers the early part of this thread I'm afraid). I ordered 80 knives in vintage Sambar stag, and 20 in Rosewood. I think I ended up with 77 in stag, and 20 in Rosewood, with an additional Rosewood model being made subsequently.
Oh no! That's rotten new Mitch
Looks good Bob, as does your Cosimo Lamb of course![]()

International lollygagging? Better consult an expert any teenager will be able to helpIt will be a challenge, but I will try that international sport of lolligagging today.
Yesterday, we headed north to South Carolina, found a nice little restaurant, and enjoyed a bite to eat.
Crab cakes with Aioli sauce.

Good morning Guardians, quiet here. I hope everyone is having a reasonable week. We had some rain yesterday, but the sun's out again today. I'm off to meet Wolfie in town shortly, have a coffee and a catch-up. Have a great day everyone

Thanks Jack, it was quite a limited runHere is my Hartshead barlow. Like I said, the stag is a little underwhelming. Similar on the other side, at least they are well matched!
Going to try to beat the heat.View attachment 2927034
There's no name on it, but the construction resembles these two TEWs, though it doesn't have the TEW raised eyebrow that interrupts the descent of the back from the tang. And it doesn't share the Wharnefoot blade shape. And the handle has a jauntier swayback.Nice utilitarian Lamb !
Thanks SteveCongrats on both, and the wife as well !
Classic !
Congrats, it has a nice pocket worn look
Nice utilitarian Lamb !
Nice to see that black beauty again![]()
Jack thank you for sharing those boat photos from your old girlfriend. That boat looks like a beautiful old wooden schooner? Iβd love to know any more details about it if she shared any. One of my favorite memories from my childhood is a 5 day family trip we had on a chartered wooden schooner that my grandfather set up. We sailed from Los Angeles harbor out into the deep water Pacific then back in and around Catalina Island. We slept on anchor and came ashore the undeveloped side of the island by rowboats a few times. What a trip and what a boatFriday, she got a last minute chance to sail from Belfast to the Scottish Highlands on a lightly crewed boat. Two thirds of the way across, the engine packed in, and they had to make the rest of the journey, including docking, by sail alone. Sounded an amazing adventure
Welcome aboard!Hi Jack, Ian from New Zealand here. Duncan said you had suggested I contact you here. I have recently acquired one of your Hartshead barlows in stag, although not nearly as nice as the stag on yours! However, it is a really well-made knife with nice action and perfect centering, I'm very pleased with it. Could you please tell me how many of these knives you had made (I think it was in 2019) in stag and in rosewood I believe. Cheers.
