Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks Jack
Ours is okay drains very quick and been torrential rain.
Across the road has more of a worry, they were going away tomorrow but they've put it off
Have a great day.
Thanks mate, that's good news πŸ‘ I'm just having a break from the rather tedious job of photo editing, to have a Sunday sausage sammich! πŸ˜πŸ˜‹πŸ‘

Thanks my friend. I need to carry it more to give the bone some character.

Every year, on Yorkshire Day, a Yorkshire town or city gets to host the civic events. This year, they chose to be 'difficult' Despite having a Leeds postcode, achieved through sheer snobbish tenacity, Ilkley is not part of Leeds, but part of Bradford, our down-at-heel cousin. They are about as different as chalk and cheese! :D Some idiot, or probably a committee of idiots, had decided that, for the first time ever, Bradford and Ilkley were going to share hosting the civic events. Realistically, you'd want to spend as little time in Bradford town centre as possible, so the plan was to assemble the Lords Mayor and other dignitaries in Bradford, and transfer them to Ilkley on vintage buses.

Inevitably, something went wrong with the plan, the vintage buses were open-topped, and the forecast was rain, so they had to hire a fleet of luxury coaches, and the fancy folk arrived an hour late. So, when I got to Ilkley, there was little going on. I had a walk down The Grove, as one of the 2 main streets is called, where a few local folks were milling around.

I went for a cup of coffee, and by the time I returned the crowds had thickened. It looked like something was going to happen sooner, rather than later.
