Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good afternoon Guardians! It's a hot Friday around here. Not sure how many more of those we'll get this year so trying to enjoy it. 5 o'clock can't come soon enough!

I walked four more miles on the Dakota Rail Trail today, covering miles 2 through 4. It was mostly cloudy, but the sun kept peeking out every so often. It’s also unseasonably cool here, with a high of only 59° today, though it looks like it’ll warm back up into the 70s next week.

One of my favorite things about this trail (when it’s warm and sunny out, rather than cool and overcast, that is) is how much natural shade some parts of it have.

The section of trail I walked today goes between Orono and Minnetonka Beach, both small communities on Lake Minnetonka. I’ve learned it’s best not to look up the values of houses in this area. 😳🤣

Because it was built on an old railroad bed, the trail crosses several old trestle bridges. Most of them are fairly small, but I think this one, Arcola Bridge, might be the longest at around 550 feet.

I would have taken some pictures of the lake, but it was seriously windy as I crossed the bridge — I had to take my hat off and stuff it in my back pocket to keep from losing it — so I didn’t hang around too long. I did get one quick snap of the Lambsfoot I had with me, though.
