Hope you have a good one Pete :)
Jack, I heard from Paul last week after a long quiet spell. He's doing fine. I don't know why he hasn't been here for so long. It's good of you to be concerned.
Many thanks for the update Robert, it's very much appreciated :)
Afternoon Guardians! Pleasant weather today. Happy trails 🤠

Hope you had a great day David, handsome Lockwood
Thanks Jack was very tasty. Yep 1 was a spring roll the other a chiko roll a favourite chip companion.

It looked it Mitch 😋 I used to love those big, fat spring rolls, we don't seem to get them here anymore. There are a lot less Chinese takeaways, and if you order spring rolls, you get small ones that taste like they are out of the freezer. Thanks for the history of the Chiko Roll mate, fascinating stuff, I'd never heard of them before
Violet is looking even better with age

LOL! :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I'm not sure what I've got on this week, but this morning I have a boring tax thing to deal with  Hopefully, I can get it done online, and get out later for a coffee, and a bit of grocery shopping, it looks like quite a nice day outside ;) I'm carrying a treasured gift today :) Hope your week gets off to a good start Guardians

Congratulations Tyson 🎉 Bob strikes again. What a nice prize for Gary. 🐑

Good morning, Guardians! Last slow morning in Mississippi. Will be pressed tomorrow as we have to drive back to Texas starting about 9AM. Charlie’s Lamb has been a faithful coffee companion on this visit! View attachment 2966084
Dave, you're in the running for Guardians Understatement of 2025 with your "nice prize" comment about the CDB knife Tyson won for me in Bob's estimation game! 🤓 Amazing generosity on the part of both Bob and Tyson!😲
USPS tracking indicated that the knife was delivered Saturday morning to the mail services building of the school where I used to teach, but now it's a question of when it will actually reach the mailbox I still have there. Most of the years I worked there, we had mail deliveries to the department twice a day, but since the COVID pandemic, those mail deliveries have been reduced to twice a week according to the department's administrative assistant.

Dave, your jigged bone Charlie lamb is a knife that always moves the needle to redline for me!:thumbsup::cool:

Good Tuesday to you. It’s a nice morning here in Santa Cruz. I should have went for a walk. But being inherently lazy and most of all a lollygagger and well there you go. I will instead endeavor to double up on my fake Tai Chi exercises here at home with my cat. He got his tail in the picture with my smiling skull lambsfoot.

Marcus Aurelius or maybe Tool Man said, “Death smiles at us all; all a man can do is smile back” - I smile back at my lambsfoot. Sometimes lambsfoot knives are not just knives but a prybar into the mystery of it all.

Man that coffee really kicked in…cheers. Nice micarta on this one. Do not pry with your knife. 😆

Dandy denim micarta lamb, Kurt, and a very philosophical post; I wonder what kind of coffee you're drinking!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Fake Tai Chi sounds like just the ticket for a dedicated lollygagger. ;)

Good morning Guardians, I woke up with a cold, I could well do without  Hoping it's gone soon 🤞The weather doesn't look so good , overcast, raining, and cold. I was going to get a haircut, but I might stay in, and do some work instead  I hope everyone's week is going smoothly, and that you have a good day today :) Carrying L'Ariete :)

Sounds like you and my wife came down with a cold almost simultaneously, Jack. She's still enduring many of the symptoms, but I hope you, being as tough as your impressive ram's horn lamb, are almost over it by now.:cool::thumbsup:

Good morning all, another beautiful day, with lots of frogs keeping me company.

Bob, I always admire the inspired design choice of grim reaper shield on coffin pattern knife!:cool::thumbsup:

With the change in schedule, I’m trying to be a bit more active and get some exercise in. I could certainly stand to lose a few pounds, but really it’s more about just making healthy decisions. So this morning after I dropped the girls off at school, I started walking the Dakota Rail Trail. It will take me several walks over a few weeks to complete the 28 mile trail, especially because I’ll technically have to walk the whole thing twice in order to get back to where I park each time.

Today I walked 4 miles and covered the first 2 miles of the trail, which starts in Wayzata, MN.

This old cabin can be found in a park in Wayzata, near the beginning of the trail.

Because the trail was built on the bed of an old railroad track, the whole thing is fairly straight and level. There’s not a whole lot to see on this stretch, and the first two miles run alongside a busy road so there’s quite a lot of noise from that, but it was still an enjoyable walk.

I had my Albers 2024 Guardians Lambsfoot with me for today.

Best wishes on your exercise program, Barrett!:cool::cool: I've always been fairly active physically throughout my life, but about 10 years ago my metabolism apparently changed and I eventually gained 25 pounds (which was about 1/6 of my previous adult weight). I cut my caloric intake almost in half and lost 10 pounds, but couldn't get back to where I used to be. But starting during COVID in 2020, I began walking 50-60 miles per week and lost the other 15 pounds I was hoping to.
Looks like you have a great place to walk! Is there essentially a "trailhead" (or at least convenient place to park your car) at every mile-marker?

Chilli and cheese on multi grain base for dinner.

...
That looks incredibly delicious, Mitch!:thumbsup::cool:

Nice pic Jer

It sure is RAINING here!

Great photo of your scintillating GL-24, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:

Beautiful knife, silly cat.
That sounds like it could be a "life motto", or at least a substantial part of one. 🤓

...
One of my favorite things about this trail (when it’s warm and sunny out, rather than cool and overcast, that is) is how much natural shade some parts of it have.
...
Because it was built on an old railroad bed, the trail crosses several old trestle bridges. Most of them are fairly small, but I think this one, Arcola Bridge, might be the longest at around 550 feet.

...
Thanks for more enjoyable trail photos, Barrett!:thumbsup::thumbsup: My walking is usually just "urban trekking" through mostly residential neighborhoods, but there are plenty of trees in my area of the city; I often choose my summer routes based on the amount of shade they provide.

That trestle bridge is cool! A little over a year ago, on the way home from our daughter's wedding in St. Paul, we spent a few days in Menasha, WI at the northwest "corner" of Lake Winnebago. There was a "bulge" in the Fox River there called Little Lake Butte de Morts, and a walking trail that included a 1600-foot trestle bridge across the lake.

This Tasmanian Blackwood from Eric needed some fresh air from its safe queen status!!
Striking Stripes, Charlie! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I decided to put this old Gal in my pocket today. My first day out venturing after being stuck inside with a bad dose of the lurgy, it always hits me in my Lungs big time!

Herbert Robinson, Sheffield. This thing is sharp after a little stropping 😱

Have the best day folks. 😊👍View attachment 2969117
Handsome lamb, Duncan!:cool::thumbsup: I hope you "beat the bug" soon, and get healthy.

Thank you Barrett. This is easily my most carried lamb, I just love it.

Your walks on the trail recently have brought back some very fond memories of when I was a kid and my parents took my brother and I on a bicycle ride somewhere near the Wisconsin/Minnesota state line. We were supposed to ride all day and stay the night then ride back the next day. I was very young so I can’t remember exactly where it was, but there was a cheese festival going on at our destination and subsequently there were no hotel rooms available. My dad had to ride all the way back that night to get the van and pick us up. We waited on a park bench outside a restaurant with my mom while my dad said he was chased several miles by a dog. 🤣

The memories you are creating will last a lifetime. 🙂
Cool story, Pat! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
Do you ever discuss it with your brother and/or parents? Whenever I get together with siblings and we happen to reminisce about some childhood event, I'm amazed at how different our memories of the event are! o_O:rolleyes:

Nice old lamb, Duncan, and hey . . . feel better, will ya!? And Bob, that's a beauty of a spalty!

Today I'm a heretic and NOT carrying a lamb after a week or so with Roper and Beni, but here is a nice pic of some of my flock.

Formidable Foursome of lambs, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

Decadent and delightful dozen, Bob!:thumbsup:😲

Definitely choice stag on your Ashley's Choice, Steve!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

When I was a boy in Sheffield, there was a very old deli and coffee-roasters, and you could smell the roasting coffee all over the city centre. I never smell that aroma anymore, the same with the smell of hops from the brewery. I figure they maybe have filters and extraction fans now, or something 🤷‍♂️
Several years ago, when a bakery took over the building we see out our back door, I thought that I'd have a tough time resisting the tempting aromas I expected the bakery to generate. But I don't think I've ever noticed any fresh-baked goodness smells coming from the building.

Speaking of nuts.
Duncan a little piece of your homeland 😋😋
Splendid stag Rosecraft, Mitch! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Afternoon Guardians! Another cloudy, cool day. I could only watch a little bit of the above video of him ruining a good piece of Sheffield history. I'll be carrying a Bex Lamb 🐑 Happy trails 🤠

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend :) I was anticipating some lollygagging, and a bit of housework today, but I've just received a request to do some work, so... Inspired by David, I'm carrying some William Rodgers Bex today :) Have a great Sunday Guardians

I took the day off work because the water heater inspector is coming sometime today. I'm finding a few things to throw out; the dust ring from the old water heater, a couple of cans of paint that clunk when you shake them....
Hope your inspection went OK Jer
We have a field with a pond behind us, which makes a great home for snakes. With all the frog food around, we sprinkle the perimeter of the yard as a deterent.
Thanks for the explanation Bob :)
Hopefully, you're not going to lose that one Dale! :D

I can relate my friend, I recall growing up with holes in my shoes, and not enough to eat, while my sister imagines a middle-class upbringing, where she got whatever she wanted  :D

I think that would have been too tempting for me Gary! :D Makes me think of Harvey's cakes :) When entering many of the large supermarkets here, you're greeted by the smell of freshly-baked bread and cookies, but the aromas emanate from a 'cassette' they plug in each day

Thanks Steve, I'm afraid I put it off to another day  Wolfie rang to ask if I fancied meeting for a coffee, and I needed no further excuse  (He was actually on time for only the second time in 25 years!) I was planning to get a haircut too, but the Iranians were busy today ;) I did get bread though :D The weather has been lovely here for most of the day, but it's been raining heavily for the past couple of hours ☂️ I was out the other day, when it started to rain, and a tough-looking feller nearby put his umbrella up. I said, "You look a bit like Mary Poppins!" He didn't half laugh :D Hope everyone is having a good day

Good Monday morning. Took out my Barrett/Albers on my walk. After all those years going up and down in a Polish elevator this micarta must be happy to have been transformed into lambsfoot knife scales. Pretty much the ultimate for micarta. Well back to lollygagging and fake tai chi. Have a good day friends.

I've lost my place with these last pictures of Rose Beast. This might be the last or it might be a reprise.

[Oh, well. See above.]
The inspector has been and gone in less about five minutes, and it went fine.
I was able to handle the phone call, and the in person is okay if I keep my left ear forward.

I hope it will. No sign of them yet at 1:40 pm.

I'm going to have to get my ears re-inspected, too. Overnight the good one went almost dead, and the bad one might be worse than it was.

Always frustrating to have to wait in like that Jer, I'm glad they arrived in the end, and didn't take up much further time. I have to have my gas boiler inspected once a year, and it can be a pain in the backside, particularly when they fail to turn up  Very sorry to hear about your hearing brother :(
