Congratulations Tyson

Bob strikes again.
What a nice prize for Gary.
Good morning, Guardians! Last slow morning in Mississippi. Will be pressed tomorrow as we have to drive back to Texas starting about 9AM. Charlie’s Lamb has been a faithful coffee companion on this visit!

Dave, you're in the running for Guardians Understatement of 2025 with your "nice prize" comment about the CDB knife Tyson won for me in Bob's estimation game!

Amazing generosity on the part of both Bob and Tyson!

USPS tracking indicated that the knife was delivered Saturday morning to the mail services building of the school where I used to teach, but now it's a question of when it will actually reach the mailbox I still have there. Most of the years I worked there, we had mail deliveries to the department twice a day, but since the COVID pandemic, those mail deliveries have been reduced to twice a week according to the department's administrative assistant.
Dave, your jigged bone Charlie lamb is a knife that always moves the needle to redline for me!

Good Tuesday to you. It’s a nice morning here in Santa Cruz. I should have went for a walk. But being inherently lazy and most of all a lollygagger and well there you go. I will instead endeavor to double up on my fake Tai Chi exercises here at home with my cat. He got his tail in the picture with my smiling skull lambsfoot.
Marcus Aurelius or maybe Tool Man said, “Death smiles at us all; all a man can do is smile back” - I smile back at my lambsfoot. Sometimes lambsfoot knives are not just knives but a prybar into the mystery of it all.
Man that coffee really kicked in…cheers. Nice micarta on this one. Do not pry with your knife.

Dandy denim micarta lamb, Kurt, and a very philosophical post; I wonder what kind of coffee you're drinking!

Fake Tai Chi sounds like just the ticket for a dedicated lollygagger.
Good morning Guardians, I woke up with a cold, I could well do without

Hoping it's gone soon

The weather doesn't look so good , overcast, raining, and cold. I was going to get a haircut, but I might stay in, and do some work instead

I hope everyone's week is going smoothly, and that you have a good day today

Sounds like you and my wife came down with a cold almost simultaneously, Jack. She's still enduring many of the symptoms, but I hope you, being as tough as your impressive ram's horn lamb, are almost over it by now.

Good morning all, another beautiful day, with lots of frogs keeping me company.

Bob, I always admire the inspired design choice of grim reaper shield on coffin pattern knife!

With the change in schedule, I’m trying to be a bit more active and get some exercise in. I could certainly stand to lose a few pounds, but really it’s more about just making healthy decisions. So this morning after I dropped the girls off at school, I started walking the
Dakota Rail Trail. It will take me several walks over a few weeks to complete the 28 mile trail, especially because I’ll technically have to walk the whole thing twice in order to get back to where I park each time.
Today I walked 4 miles and covered the first 2 miles of the trail, which starts in Wayzata, MN.
This old cabin can be found in a park in Wayzata, near the beginning of the trail.
Because the trail was built on the bed of an old railroad track, the whole thing is fairly straight and level. There’s not a whole lot to see on this stretch, and the first two miles run alongside a busy road so there’s quite a lot of noise from that, but it was still an enjoyable walk.
I had my Albers 2024 Guardians Lambsfoot with me for today.
Best wishes on your exercise program, Barrett!

I've always been fairly active physically throughout my life, but about 10 years ago my metabolism apparently changed and I eventually gained 25 pounds (which was about 1/6 of my previous adult weight). I cut my caloric intake almost in half and lost 10 pounds, but couldn't get back to where I used to be. But starting during COVID in 2020, I began walking 50-60 miles per week and lost the other 15 pounds I was hoping to.
Looks like you have a great place to walk!

Is there essentially a "trailhead" (or at least convenient place to park your car) at every mile-marker?
Chilli and cheese on multi grain base for dinner.

That looks incredibly delicious, Mitch!

Nice pic Jer
It sure is RAINING here!

Great photo of your scintillating GL-24, Jack!

Beautiful knife, silly cat.
That sounds like it could be a "life motto", or at least a substantial part of one.
...
One of my favorite things about this trail (when it’s warm and sunny out, rather than cool and overcast, that is) is how much natural shade some parts of it have.
...
Because it was built on an old railroad bed, the trail crosses several old trestle bridges. Most of them are fairly small, but I think this one, Arcola Bridge, might be the longest at around 550 feet.
...
Thanks for more enjoyable trail photos, Barrett!

My walking is usually just "urban trekking" through mostly residential neighborhoods, but there are plenty of trees in my area of the city; I often choose my summer routes based on the amount of shade they provide.
That trestle bridge is cool! A little over a year ago, on the way home from our daughter's wedding in St. Paul, we spent a few days in Menasha, WI at the northwest "corner" of Lake Winnebago. There was a "bulge" in the Fox River there called Little Lake Butte de Morts, and a walking trail that included a 1600-foot trestle bridge across the lake.

This Tasmanian Blackwood from Eric needed some fresh air from its safe queen status!!
Striking Stripes, Charlie!

I decided to put this old Gal in my pocket today. My first day out venturing after being stuck inside with a bad dose of the lurgy, it always hits me in my Lungs big time!
Herbert Robinson, Sheffield. This thing is sharp after a little stropping
Have the best day folks.

Handsome lamb, Duncan!

I hope you "beat the bug" soon, and get healthy.
