Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

LOL! Thanks Bob, the neighbour I had in mind was Mrs Singh. She is never able to keep gardeners for very long because she is very demanding, is very rude to them, racist, and fails to pay them! 🙄😁
I think Mrs. Singh might have a promising career as a politician in the US, Jack!

Flock of turkeys wandered through the front yard this morning, only caught a pic of one.

That knife is certainly no turkey, Dan! 🤓:thumbsup:

...
Good looking Cosimo you’ve won there, GT. Glad to see you’re putting it to work. As for a name, how about just, “The Shadow”?
...

Hope y’all all had a nice weekend. I failed to report in with my last trail walk, which was Thursday, I think. I checked off another couple miles (8 through 10) on the trail.

...

I spotted these guys along the way. I’m no bird expert, but I believe they’re ospreys.

I had my stag Hartshead Barlow with me on my walk, and kept it in my pocket throughout the weekend.

Thanks for the kind comment, Barrett. :)
I like the simplicity of The Shadow, especially combined with an alias like LAMBont Cranston ;), but I'll probably try to work in something Italian, as well.
Thanks for more hiking photos!:cool::thumbsup: The ospreys in their nest are definitely cool; I've often watched ospreys doing their aerial fishing along the Lake Huron shoreline on our summer vacations, but I've never seen a nest.

Impeccable polished stag lamb, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Good to see UNion Jack Gary :) Barnitt's is still going, but they no longer stock any Sheffield knives :(
Thanks, Jack. :) I remember you mentioning that about Barnitt's, so I went to their website and saw some special-purpose knives that caught my attention (hacking knife and shoe knife, although I try to stay away from fixed blade knives).

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that you're feeling hale and hearty today :) Good luck to Mrs black mamba black mamba today 🤞I need to call in the docs myself, to drop off my latest blood pressure readings, which are still pretty high unfortunately. I have a few errands to do in town, a few things to take care of here, and I'm meeting Bod this evening for some pints - that man drinks like a fish! :D Hope your week gets off to a good start Guardians, got my Pals Lamb in my pocket - thanks guys :)

That's a very distinguished-looking lamb, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

That's a beauty !
Thanks, Steve. :)

Afternoon Guardians! Hope y'all have a great day. Nothing but lolligaggin around here. Happy trails 🤠

David, I'll bet that CJ knife Cuts Joyfully! ;):thumbsup:

Very nice :)
Thanks, Jack. :)

Good morning, Guardians and happy Tuesday. No lollygagging around here. I followed Charlie’s maxim and lubed up a few of my favorites yesterday for carrying this week. Busy workday ahead but I’ll have this sweet 🐑 riding in my pocket as a talisman.View attachment 2977472
Dave, IMHO, the first-run jigged bone Charlie lamb is the best-looking open knife I've ever seen!:cool::thumbsup:

Jeff, I hope your wife is feeling better by now and that maybe the medical folks have some idea of what's going on.
They haven't done the ultrasound yet, there are so many geezers down here in SW Florida (including us, of course!) that it takes weeks just to get a test done.
In the meanwhile they gave her some meds which have helped.

I know I've read Hidden Prey, but can't remember it for the life of me. Maybe its time to start rereading the Prey series 🤔
Mike, my wife has been re-reading the Prey series in order, and I often pick them up for her at the library (quarter mile away) and read the dust jacket on the walk home. When I picked up Hidden Prey for her, I realized that I'd read it only once before and couldn't remember anything about it other than, "Oh, some Russian sailor gets killed in Duluth and a female Russian cop or spy or both comes over to watch Davenport investigate."
As I read, a few details came back to me, but essentially it was a new book for me. 🤓

Good morning, Guardians and happy Friday. Jack, I think you should capture the best of Tool Man’s selling philosophies in a book. Sure to be a slow seller! 🤣 View attachment 2979987

Nice grain !

Good luck with the holly Jer

Many thanks Steve :)

Wow, that looks nice Steve

Thanks Jack 👍
LOL! :D I did once start writing down the thoughts and observations of some glaringly stupid idiot who used to go in the same pub as me, many years ago, 'The Thoughts of Chairman Coz'! :D His pronouncements were declared with such belief and authority! 😵‍💫 I wish I could remember some of them now! :D A fine-looking Rodgers Dave :)

Easy to get distracted by all this fine Lambsfootery, I put a pizza in the oven for 10 minutes, 20 minutes ago! 😖 Hope I don't lose any teeth! 🤔

What's the story on the ram in a sling ?

These photos are from November 10, 2023 (a day when the temperature reached 75˚F). I don't think I've taken any photos of Union Jack since then. Usually when I "process" my photos on my laptop after downloading them from a point-n-shoot camera, I crop the picture and then hit an "auto-adjust" button in the image software that figures out "optimal" brightness, color intensity, exposure, contrast, etc. for me with one click. Every now and then, I'll mess around with some filters that are available in my image software. These photos are the result of using some kind of "dramatic" filter.

Beauty !

Superb stag lamb, Bob! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I hope those frogs aren't actually part of a plague of biblical proportions akin to the 10 Plagues in Egypt described in the book of Exodus!

Your ebony WCLF is the epitome of elegance, Steve! 😲:thumbsup:

That jigged bone WCLF is flaming HOT, Dan; glad to see you're taking precautions!🤓

Your rosewood HHB is splendid, David!:cool::thumbsup:
I sure am happy to have one of those!

Handsome wood on that one, Jack!:cool::cool:

Your Butler is a beauty, Steve!:thumbsup::cool:

My wife still gets a traditional wall calendar to put on the door of our study, so I have those pictures (even though I have no input into the type of art selected for the calendar).:thumbsup::cool:

Sweet FC Charlie Lamb, Mitch, with that tray of forbidden fruit!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Homegrown tomatoes?

Thanks for the info, Jack; I didn't think I remembered you and Tool Man going back to school days, but I'm not as up-to-date in the Guardians thread as I used to be.

Striking coincidence about the fake aromas in supermarkets. Soon after you told me about it, I was reading a novel (Hidden Prey by John Sandford) in which a family bakery in a small town in the Iron Range of northern Minnesota was described. Two small bathroom-style exhaust fans, mounted in the corners of the wall behind the cash register, blew odors from the ovens into the sales space, a mixture of yeast, dough, spice, and just a touch of sea salt. Few customers made it back to the street without a load of extra calories.🤓
In the same novel, a knife plays a significant role. A lawyer who has been a "street person" for years after becoming addicted to crack early in her career comes into a considerable sum of money and decides to restart her life. She gets cleaned up, buys new clothes, gets an apartment and furniture, plans how to get back to work. She dumps out her old backpack and finds a knife in it. All that was left of her old life. She picked up her knife. Ought to throw it out, she thought. This was not a good vibe... But still, a girl should have a knife.

Classy Charlie Lamb, Bob, and informative pics of your impressive yard work!!:cool::thumbsup:
Once you dig out a flower bed, can you plant the flowers in the clay and then add mulch, or do you have to put better soil on top of the clay before putting in your flowers?

Jeff, I hope your wife is feeling better by now and that maybe the medical folks have some idea of what's going on.

Thanks Gary !

Nice one Mike !

Nice pics buddy ! Love that Bog Oak 👍

Attractive images Gary :) I've been having some issues with my PC photo editing recently. I usually just crop, and make a few minor adjustments, but when I save the pic, the colours are adjusted, and really not at all to my liking, with very garish reds. I suspect it might be an unwanted AI feature, but can't figure out how to disable it :(
Handsome wood on that one, Jack!:cool::cool:
Thank you my friend :)

Tool Man went to a very good school Gary, it was APPROVED (to paraphrase one of my granddad's old jokes)! :D ;)

Nice pic Mike :)
I could have done with that yesterday David, I only had time for one coffee, and no nap! 🥱

Yes, they still sell knives, and lots of other useful things :) I can't really blame them for not wanting to deal with Wright's  Your wide and daughter picked you out a nice Lamb, in Union Jack, Gary. There are times I have looked through Barnitt's entire stock, and every single Lambsfoot was a dud :( Thanks for the kind words my friend :)

I was talking about this phenomena with Tool Man the other day, one of the few advantages of ageing! ;)

Leeds was built on wool and tailoring, and that image is part of the city's coat of arms Steve. It was on the gate of an old library building

Afternoon all
Such great knives :)

Good morning Guardians, I had a very busy day yesterday, but managed to get to the fight OK. It was packed card, with some good fights, including 3 title bouts. Wolfie was fighting a tough scrapper from Manchester, who he has fought before, and we were all expecting the fight to go the distance (they're only 3 or 4 round contests). However, Wolfie hit the lad with a hard body shot towards the end of Round 1, and he was unable to continue. Wolfie won by TKO. I'll post video when I get to see it :) It's wet again here this morning, but I'm hoping it'll clear up, as I'm going into town with Matt, and hopefully meeting up with a few other friends  I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I'm jumping on the bandwaggon! :D

Way to go Wolfie ! Nice pic with that Conker 👍

We have another high in the 80s today, then back in the 70s at last, starting tomorrow.
The transplanted holly looks fine, but it's hard to tell with holly.

Nice Grain !

Thanks mate, hoping to post video soon
Good morning Guardians !

Cool and wet this morning after thunderstorms overnight. It's definitely feeling like fall around here. The trees are starting to get some colors.

Lambspey today 👍

I hope everyone is having a good day :) It hasn't stopped raining here today, heavy rain, and it's been cold and windy too :( Me and Matt had lunch with some pals, then had a few pints in the pub. I called in for a South Indian curry on the way home ;) I'm glad to get in though!
