You got a nice one there Gary, Happy Double Lambsfoot Day!Here are a couple of pics of the mark side of Valley Jack, my lambsfoot of the week. I think the mark side is much more dignified than the flashy pile side I showed a couple of days ago:

My rotation schedule assigned me another lambsfoot this week, as Stag/Horn Knife of the Week. It's Man Jack, my lambsfoot stag senator:

What do you reckon is causing this recent coyote activity Jer? Nice calendar shot with your Silent LambYesterday I saw a second coyote in my back yard, looking out at me from the border brush. He was probably closer before I opened the garage door to go to work, again at 9:30. I think he was smaller than Monday's coyote, and I was seeing him in about the same place and from about the same place.
Just now I saw a coyote out the window, walking along the other side of my border brush, at 9:15. Maybe he'll circle closer in a few minutes.

Thanks Jer, great perspectiveThanks!
It could be that as farm land becomes mansion land coyotes spread into less pretentious suburbs. My neighborhood has quiet streets and large blocks with bushy interiors. My own block has a field in the middle which my neighbor has stopped mowing, so it's probably pretty close to being tall-grass prairie.
There are plenty of rabbits, squirrels, possums, and coons. The rabbit population especially seems to boom and bust. I suspect the coyotes rotate to booming rabbit populations, bust them, and move on.
